Have you downloaded the Bosch measure on app? It will help laying out projects. It's a free app available on Android and iOS. It takes some getting used to, but I think it will do what you want.

that would depend on a couple things, diameter, and available light. being a camera, it needs light, and you'd have to be able to see the actual spot you're measuring. so the bigger the pipe, the better. i'm assuming you want to look straight down the pipe?
I personally like the 400 better, but it's a matter of use. The 400 is better for outdoor use. More distance and the camera function. But the 165 is more compact and works excellently for indoor applications
From the opening screen, Tap the upper right settings button, toggle to Bluetooth and turn it on. By default this unit turns Bluetooth off to save batteries. So you'll have to turn it on every time you power it up. When it's on, you have to have the Bosch app on your phone, or tablet, and pair it like you'd do with any Bluetooth device.

What's the difference compared to the glm 150-27 c professional?, it is just the 150 does 150m compared to 120m for this?
That sounds about right. I'm sure the features are identical.

I don't think so. Older devices had a dedicated button for that. I'll do some research.

I did download the app but have not found good directions or tutorial on how to operate it to do the detailed drawing.

The new model (GLM400CL) has a Lithium battery. Will this work in the 400c?
i don't think it will, they have different battery compartments.
can you take area from a building ?
Yes it will do area, or volume.

It will do square feet, and area, assuming the walls are close to perpendicular. Things get a little tougher when you start to talk triangles.

Bosch does sell a version of this, that has a built in lithium ion battery, that charges with A USB cable. Is that what you're asking

Can you elaborate? Tape measure, would just be live measurements. Or the default when you power it on.

That might be tough. The drones are usually pretty small, and the higher they go, the harder it will be. It's accurate to 1/16th inch.
