I like how the Demon God forces a ghost girl into befriending a minor into a potential relationship/friendship on the hopes the underage girl kills herself/temporally leaves her body at the off chance of a kiss/hug/handshake in order for the Demon God to control her body and make her speak an ancient language thousands of years old. No plot holes in this at all...

I used to think these failures had to do with something that just happens to some movies, but I'm starting to realize this is a societal issue. People that are in charge of producing and writing this stuff are just making trash they're unoriginal they lack talent or skill at their jobs and the writing is complete garbage. There needs to be some accountability here people need to lose their jobs. If I was a surgeon and every patient I ever worked on died.. shouldn't I be fired?
There def needs to be more competition from independant filmmakers for the big budget movies to actually try. Hopefully Minus One winning best visuals at the Oscars with a $15 mill budget will be a wake up call ☠

it has far more to do with a corporate/control group issue. Whenever a movie gets made it has to be approved by the interests of the movie company/companies. Afterwards the movie still has to go through test screenings, it has to gain approval by focus groups and the MPAA (the motion picture association of America, they're the fascists of the movie world, their whole job is to regulate the content, storyline, story direction, etc of the movie) which means an already crappy movie becomes even crappier. Don't bother with concern to watch indie movies either, there are no indie movies, especially nowadays. Even movies so indie they receive "the dreaded NC17 rating" still get content controlled by the MPAA (that's right, each and every time NC17 movies are the equivalent of a hard R with a few spicy nudity scenes because it's actually a marketing plot, now who would've thought?) But really, you'll go into an "independent movie" expecting to see something different for once in the current age, and really it's either just another pothead comedy with nothing else to offer, including very little (if at all) irreverence (like we haven't had enough of those, or lesbian romance movies (a romance flick is a romance flick), or any other variation of the same corny Hollywood tropes that...well... Hollywood is known for. To be fair, there's been some decently indie movies before. Smiley Face from the early 2000s, albeit a pothead comedy has significantly more to offer and went with unique angles, Clerks from the mid 90s was a widely unique and irreverent indie dark comedy, also in the mid 90s was the Italian horror-fantasy movie Cemetery Man. But again, that was then and this is now. Bottom line, the corporations such as movie companies, the MPAA, etc control the narrative of what's expressed in a movie and that's the main reason the current movies blow major donkey dick. Because Hollywood is making movies purely for 16 year olds and China. The corporate media execs/media moguls don't care about good quality movies with inspired, unpredictable, original writing, something valid to say, etc and they don't even care if the majority audience wants to see good movies. They don't even care about money anymore as they can already tell the movie industry is losing money, not gaining anything. They care about, in their eyes, hopefully coercing the public to like the trash they drag up. I'm thinking they're going by the propaganda model that if you repeat it long enough the people will accept and reject whatever you tell them to.

agree with the whole video . i had hopes after the last one , and this one took care of destroying what it had manage to achieve. i watched completely , tried my best to keep an open mind despite so many eye rolling moments ... the movie was uninteresting , and inferior to "afterlife" . i guess afterlife was a modern accident.

i just saw Frozen Empire. i thought it was pretty good. No it's not as good as the first 2 GBs. But it's way better than GB'16 & i'd say it's just as good as Afterlife.

Yes I agree with your take on it. The Disney teen moping WAS the plot and the supporting characters were filler and just thrown in.

Podcast is not that bad, and I liked his bond with Ray.
Phoebe’s character wasn’t likeable, and Slimer and Walter Peck didn’t get much screetime.
Also yeah, Melody (the ghost girl) sucks. Every scene she’s in is painful, and whatever they were trying to do with her and Phoebe didn’t work in the slightest.
That being said, I still did enjoy the film more or less. Ray was my favourite character, the new villain was interesting and they had some decent ideas that got a bit lost in the shuffle.
Having seen the movie today i do disagree with this review though I understand WHY one could see it as bad. This movie was a solid movie in my opinion. The supposed ghost lesbian romance thing I think is because we've become so used to having it forced down our throats that we look for it. I don't think it was a lesbian thing however. I think it was more a kid who feels like no one understands them finally making what they consider a friend. Plus it was also brought up that both She and one of the originals both wanted to know what it was like to be a ghost. Plus I think this, as a 2nd movie introducing the new cast, is good to have a movie showing their angsty years where things aren't going great. The first movie really tried to show that with wolfhards character and now its phoebes turn. Again this is just my opinion. I do think its a solid movie and will happily see a third installment as I like where they are trying to go even if they have a few painful steps getting there.
I can definitely see your point and I'm glad you liked it! Like I said I didn't think it was a terrible movie, it was nowhere near as bad as something like Madame Web, it just felt like they had too high expectations of what they could do in a 2 hour runtime in my opinion. Thanks for your input! 😁
