This wouldn't be an issue if youtube allows the actual musician to verify their youtube accounts. I think its messed up how musicians get copyrighted for using their own work as content, while those who claimed get a portion or all the money. (Even though they have put nothing into the music piece itself)

i believe its the algorithm's work because the other day i uploaded a review on 1 min.. yes 1 min teaser trailer of voltes v legacy and it was only on the draft upload ..not yet published but immediately theres a copyright notice.. the system detects on how the owner or the first uploader of the video set it and eventually on the case of Sir Perfs video somehow when he sent a counter claim the claimant was informed and manually set a shared setting with the song.

The same thing with my 214 cover, there is a copy right claim, youtube should give more concern about this. Maybe all musicians, that covered the 214 has a copy right claims also.

You can look at some of his iconic solos like in 214 and Awit ng Kabataan and confidently say they are on par with rock solos of the 80s. OPM has changed a lot already and the closest we got to a new Perf De Castro is Blaster Silonga.

Blaster came into the time when any passionate people can be good at guitar because of the available resources like youtube where the lessons are already at your fingertips. Perf however became a virtouso guitarist when resourses are scarce. Okay. When it comes to playing, perf is a very very versatile player. He can shred like steve vai and can blues the night away like hendrix and SRV. And his solos are all great. You could sing it in your head. Although blaster is a good player he is not at par with perf.
Skill level medyo malayo pa si Blaster pero agree ako sa statement niyo sir. Rare na sa Pilipinas yung mga guitarist na kayang gumawa ng iconic na solos. Wish there were more Perf De Castro and Blaster :)

But in your case, you own the music, you have the right. As long as you're registered with FILSCAP (ASCAP for us). Two years ago, I posted a video of me playing my own rendition of SoapDish's Tensionado. No big deal right just a fan playing guitar and singing. Until, I receive an email from CZcams claiming some copyright issues with my video. I thought, what the heck, is my cover even that good to merit a copyright claim. Of course I am not that good not even decent, but the algorithm thinks I am an album recording of Tensionado uploaded to my channel. Now if they can do that to a complete nobody like myself then what's stopping this algorithm from doing it to the artists themselves who are owners of their work.

Rico created the basic chord or note pattern for each member since he's the composer of the song.. But he may not forgotten that River Maya is a POp Rock Band, A Figure in Music Industry,.. that's Draw Popularity Based on the Uniqueness, Skills and Talent of Each Member's rendering their Craft... A Band Fan, is different from a typical genre Fan,.. A typical Fan, mostly don't care about the composer, beat, solo Instrument etc..But. A band Fan, is fractioned by separate interest, MOstly pay attention only for the Vocalist, and the Second in Polarity is the LEAD GUITAR, because the lead Guitar Carries the image of "Rocker" more than anyone else in the group, 3rd the drummer and lesser popular is the basis, and In song created by a Band... The second popular sound fans are waiting to hear next to Vocals, is the SOLO GUITAR....IN some song, guitar solo's is the reason why the song became popular, and as a Rock Fan, 214 is a Balance of Great Song writing and Guitar skill of Both Rico and Perf, in the 90's almost every guitar player is trying play the solo guitar part, it's liretarally part of music history.. I know its months now after you posted this video claim issue, but I just want to share with you as a small youtuber and musician also, I was so disappointed also (well, unlike you, its YOUR ORIGINAL CONTENT you're talking). But then you mentioned here that the claim was manually identified by the claimant, well I have "doubts" with that. You see, that "specific phrase" also appears on my copyright status window on a specific guitar cover I made, but the funny thing about it is, since I'm watching some copyright talks recently, Iv'e been vigilant on this, and guess what? When uploading a video, when its the section wherein you're gonna click "PUBLISH", there's my "HOPE" that it will not be slapped by a copyright claim, and "WEIRDLY", AFTER I CLICKED PUBLISH, at exactly 2 SECONDS ONLY! its flagged as "Copyright Claim". And then I checked if this is kinda weird, and checked again on another upload. And there they go 2 seconds mark of claiming a copyright ownership. So much for what they said "MANUALLY IDENTIFIED BY CLAIMANT". Another point is that if its really a PERSON, then, aren't they METICULOUSLY CHECKING the creator of the video content? why would a LOGICAL PERSON slams a MUSICIAN with his OWN MATERIAL with a COPYRIGHT CLAIM? That's really absurd. Thus, making it a theory of mine that it really is because of the CZcams ALGORITHM and it really needs to be IMPROVED for musicians because that's our MAIN CONTENT. i think its the manager of rivermaya. i read about it, the manager owned rivermaya after court decision. its not the band members but the manager that owned it.
Rivermaya as "the band" does not automatically own "the songs" that they perform/ed. The owner of the songs are the ones who composed it. The guitar solos are owned by the one who created it. You should differentiate the band vs the songs.

Sir Perf's solos during his Rivermaya days were the pinnacle of Pinoy rock. You can look at some of his iconic solos like in 214 and Awit ng Kabataan and confidently say they are on par with rock solos of the 80s.
OPM has changed a lot already and the closest we got to a new Perf De Castro is Blaster Silonga.
Darren Lustre ang layo if you compare perf de castro to blaster salonga. Blaster came into the time when any passionate people can be good at guitar because of the available resources like youtube where the lessons are already at your fingertips. Perf however became a virtouso guitarist when resourses are scarce. Okay. When it comes to playing, perf is a very very versatile player. He can shred like steve vai and can blues the night away like hendrix and SRV. And his solos are all great. You could sing it in your head. Although blaster is a good player he is not at par with perf.
Skill level medyo malayo pa si Blaster pero agree ako sa statement niyo sir. Rare na sa Pilipinas yung mga guitarist na kayang gumawa ng iconic na solos. Wish there were more Perf De Castro and Blaster :)

But in your case, you own the music, you have the right. As long as you're registered with FILSCAP (ASCAP for us). Two years ago, I posted a video of me playing my own rendition of SoapDish's Tensionado. No big deal right just a fan playing guitar and singing. Until, I receive an email from CZcams claiming some copyright issues with my video. I thought, what the heck, is my cover even that good to merit a copyright claim. Of course I am not that good not even decent, but the algorithm thinks I am an album recording of Tensionado uploaded to my channel. Now if they can do that to a complete nobody like myself then what's stopping this algorithm from doing it to the artists themselves who are owners of their work.
But they cant show who or what is the particular they are claiming about.

Rico created the basic chord or note pattern for each member since he's the composer of the song.. But he may not forgotten that River Maya is a POp Rock Band, A Figure in Music Industry,.. that's Draw Popularity Based on the Uniqueness, Skills and Talent of Each Member's rendering their Craft... A Band Fan, is different from a typical genre Fan,.. A typical Fan, mostly don't care about the composer, beat, solo Instrument etc..But. A band Fan, is fractioned by separate interest, MOstly pay attention only for the Vocalist, and the Second in Polarity is the LEAD GUITAR, because the lead Guitar Carries the image of "Rocker" more than anyone else in the group, 3rd the drummer and lesser popular is the basis, and In song created by a Band... The second popular sound fans are waiting to hear next to Vocals, is the SOLO GUITAR....IN some song, guitar solo's is the reason why the song became popular, and as a Rock Fan, 214 is a Balance of Great Song writing and Guitar skill of Both Rico and Perf, in the 90's almost every guitar player is trying play the solo guitar part, it's liretarally part of music history.. So sad Rico wants to take all the rights and credit even in a single youtube video from his former bandmate..... and I wonder, for what???? Everybody knew already he's the writer of 214...

Sir perf! I know its months now after you posted this video claim issue, but I just want to share with you as a small youtuber and musician also, I was so disappointed also (well, unlike you, its YOUR ORIGINAL CONTENT you're talking).
But then you mentioned here that the claim was manually identified by the claimant, well I have "doubts" with that.
You see, that "specific phrase" also appears on my copyright status window on a specific guitar cover I made, but the funny thing about it is, since I'm watching some copyright talks recently, Iv'e been vigilant on this, and guess what? When uploading a video, when its the section wherein you're gonna click "PUBLISH", there's my "HOPE" that it will not be slapped by a copyright claim, and "WEIRDLY", AFTER I CLICKED PUBLISH, at exactly 2 SECONDS ONLY! its flagged as "Copyright Claim". And then I checked if this is kinda weird, and checked again on another upload. And there they go 2 seconds mark of claiming a copyright ownership. So much for what they said "MANUALLY IDENTIFIED BY CLAIMANT".
Another point is that if its really a PERSON, then, aren't they METICULOUSLY CHECKING the creator of the video content? why would a LOGICAL PERSON slams a MUSICIAN with his OWN MATERIAL with a COPYRIGHT CLAIM? That's really absurd. Thus, making it a theory of mine that it really is because of the CZcams ALGORITHM and it really needs to be IMPROVED for musicians because that's our MAIN CONTENT.
Just airing my concern also because as a small youtuber, you're one of my inspirations since childhood, and I just feel your case.

Rivermaya as "the band" does not automatically own "the songs" that they perform/ed. The owner of the songs are the ones who composed it. The guitar solos are owned by the one who created it. You should differentiate the band vs the songs.
