One of the Founder of Philscap is Gary Granada. When sir Gary had a copyright issue against GMA using his draft, Philscap can't help him, having a legit complaint. And now this.
CZcams will not give a shit whether you compose the song or whatever. They (YT) follows legal claims filed by publishers/copyright owners/etc. And that issue is CZcams’s biggest stink.
The only way for musicians to totally use their music (published) is to work with their publisher and ask them to STOP CLAIMING THEIR OWN CONTENT. CZcams is not in the position to interfere with that legal bullshit.

I think that each idea in contribution to the piece should have their own copyright. As what you have explained sir perf, it was a collaborative project and not a single person's idea.

I think you and Rico should file a joint dispute and the two of you should be given acknowledgement and recognition as the makers of the song. Rico composed the lyrics and the melody, you put your thought on it... You have your right...

Hi Idol. ASCAP's machine learning algorithm is amazingly working well. The only thing that's broken is that the machine learning algorithm for identifying "Perfecto the CZcamsr" and "Perfecto the Rivermaya guitarist" are the same. The dispute claim should be the manual override to the algorithm. I have a hunch there was not much rechecking done on the other end of the dispute claim. PS: Epic ang response ni idol Rico Blanco. Biglang nakamiss ang 90s

Sir perf deserves to be monetized on that video. Sana makarating to sa YT management to improve their systems when it comes to ownership and copyright.
I think I agree with one of the comments below about reaching out to google since they own youtube and making a video call so they can personally confirm that it is your own guitar solo or they could atleast tell you if you if they need legal papers or any other proof like getting statement of confirmaton from the people who are involved in making the song. I hope this matter will be resolved soon.

Maestro alam naman namin kung sino talaga gumawa ng solo na yon. Kung sino man umaangkin sa solo mo malamang inggit lang kasi alam naman natin na ikaw ang pinakamagaling na naging guitarista ng rivermaya. Best ka rin sa amin till now. Thanks for the free tutorial it help us a lot.
Sir Perf, was there a clause or stipulation in your Rivermaya contract that you signed previously indicating who will be the rightful owner of the song including melody, guitar solo, etc.? It may be you who thought and executed the idea but there might be something written in the contract saying either BMG Pilipinas or someone else would own the copyright. Same case when you develop an idea while working say for Google or CZcams. Sole ownership of your idea will be by the company since you're their employee. Just my 2 cents sir.
ASCAP filed the copyright complaint. The local affiliate of ASCAP is FILSCAP. The president of FILSCAP is RB.

How in a world that the creator is for playing and sharing his knowledge to the next generations of music artist? Anyway, those copyright personnel doesn't realize this but for us Batang 90's we grew up with rivermaya songs, it is undeniable that you master prep is a major contributor for this song and in OPM history. Let them have the rights of the song in legal claims but in the heart of Batang 90's like me you really are a guitar legend.
That's the New Updates of CZcams and that's also many vloggers doesn't make cover even in Live Recording as long as it is in the same KEY CZcams will recognized it as a copyright claim..

I think what YT is saying is that it's an all or nothing issue. It's like it doesn't matter if you made part 3,4, and 5, the whole 1 to 10 still gets credited to whoever owns it. That's insane. And it sucks, but maybe that's how they see this issue. What's funny is that there are people who do covers of songs they do not own, yet they still get to have ads on their channels. I'm not sure if they still get copyright strikes though.
