In my country we call them tomates de árbol (tree tomatoes)
well there literally are dozens of types of tomatos, some of which don't taste like the typical normal tomatos that we eat in america all the time. And that doesn't include all the fruits/veggies that are similar to tomatos.

As a New Zealander. We also have feijoas, either you have a feijoa tree or your neighbour does but EVERYONE has a bag full of feijoas that they possibly can’t get through when it’s feijoa season. They don’t taste like cleaner, I swear. The larger ones are sweeter.

My parents are Maori/Kiwi. My mum says feijoas are her memory of home, and yeah, even she talks of all the kids hopping to each others house to raid the trees lol I'm personally not a fan

Peruvian here. Chirimoyas are the sweetest fruit ever. Yours wasn’t ripe enough to eat. Also, nobody eats the seeds, but I had no idea they were poisonous

Seeing Feijoas here was kinda surreal didn't realize they were exotic since they are everywhere in NZ. glad you boys liked it!
Any fruit is considered exotic if it is not commonly found in markets in other locations or not grown in many areas.

Exotic is contextual. Where I live you'll see prarie dogs running all over the place, in parks etc. But are exotic enough in other regions that they have them in zoos lol
@@rayofsunshine892 it shouldn't be sour, although there are a lot of varieties so I guess some might be more tart. It's usually mildly sweet and quite floral tasting.

Justice for cherimoya! A tree grew in the front yard of the house where I would spend my summers in Ecuador. Easily one of the best fruits I've ever had, the texture is tender and slightly chewy, like a cross between a banana and a mango.
That cherimoya is not ripe.
That Cherimoya is also called a Custard Apple, custard why you may ask, because it is very sugary and tasty when it is ripe.
Guess Link didn't have any feijoas while he was in New Zealand. They're everywhere down there!
That cherimoya was most definitly not ripe. I had them before a few times and normally they are very mushy and taste so so sweet with a bubblegum like flavour.
The cherimoya can be found on the south side of Mexico there are some pink colored ones those actually got a sweet and softer texture 💯

Hey, that people at the end are in my city, Arequipa - Perú, and they're holding fruits I never had considered as exotic bc i always have eat them, but yeah i guess they do are exotic
What counts as exotic depends on whether it is common or not where you live, so the commonly available in Peru won't be exotic there, but if it's hard to find/uncommon in say California, then it is exotic there.

Watching this after my first day of a job. I'm so tired (but still very content) and ready to finally chillllllll 😂
The tamarillo looks a lot like a little eggplant, and apparently it actually is from the same family as potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants. And the longan is related to lychee.
The inside of the longan even looks similar to the lychee, kinda surprised they didn't even mention that.
From what I recall they even taste somewhat similar.
