Great player, great legacy. However, I'm just curious about why he retired so abruptly. Was his heart issue more serious than they initially believed? I know he's been slowing down for some time now but I would've expected him to at least finish out the season. Also would've thought he'd want one last brief appearance in a USMNT friendly as well. It's kind of like how Landon Donovan retired so abruptly and awkwardly as well.
