Dude! I've got the same tractor! I Love It! You're right, there isn't much on the web about it. Show me how the deck goes on and off. The rod in the front is giving me some grief. I think the guy before me bent it or something. (The cup holder appears to be held on with 2-way tape.)
Nice looking machine. I'm not a fan of the "100 series" tractors but the G100 is a great tractor, they're basically just a GT series with L series sheet metal and the big Kohler Command engine. I wish Deere would have built more models on that frame with that drivetrain.
The G100 is an excellent tractor, even though their production only ran for 1 year (2003 in fact) they still hold up better than today's high end 100 series tractors. And the G110 wasn't any better than this, it just started using the L100 frame and was never built to be used like a Garden Tractor compared to this.
I'm getting ready to rebuild my G100 we bought new around 2003 (?). It's been parked for a few years but was a great tractor. Heavier commercial frame with 4 lug rear wheels . I added a pair of wheel hub weights for hills and pulling. Made a huge difference. I parked it because the tires crapped out (expensive tires on the back!) and I got a nice used Kubota 4wd diesel cheap. Just getting around to restoring the Deere, for a backup. Kubota needs a clutch soon. ($$$!). Yours looks to be in great shape. Be sure to keep the valves adjusted on that Kohler.
You should have a button somewhere on tractor that you push that, allows you to go in reverse when mowing. I know the L130 and G110 have it but the G100 is a more expensive model so not sure where it is.

Steven Wallard. If you see this, can you please show me where the negative ground from the battery is grounded to. Thank you!!!!

pretty sure it has hydraulic lifters.
I have the same tractor, do you know the part number for the sensor for the battery light and its location?
I think I have the same tractor a scotts s2554, is like 22 yrs old now
Just got the Scotts/John Deere s2554 it looks like many parts are the same as the G100
@@parkerbirch1475 I believe that is more or less sort of the same tractor
I got a John Deere g100 when I push down on the reverse pedal the motor cuts out what's causing it to do that

Pull the yellow mower pto switch a little bit when mowing in reverse
You need to pull up on the PTO clutch switch when you go into Reverse
