That is not little house She always sad my little that is not little house.
By American standards, it is indeed a little house. @@cacab6884
I realize Julie has made much of her private life public, but I always thought my little internal query of "why does she keep saying 'my' Italian villa?", was crossing a boundary to muse aloud. But, it finally came to me. She, probably, wanted something of her own. Everything in Mapperton is from Luke's inheritance, and she doesn't get to say, "this is mine". Now she has that sense of ownership.
Isn't her guest just a bit condescending?
@@JMARTIN1947 Not at all - and the guest is actually her husband.
Its not that, its so people search for 'my little Italian house'
And I do get that. Huge, can be lonely. Small is intimate.
Not a fan of all the rust. Everything is good
I love how American you are and how extremely English your husband is😂🙌🏽 *chef kiss*
The terrace is a delightful space❤ eating out with family and friends, making breakfast, read a book on an amaca... has no price
Your little house is such a sweet dream. Thank you for taking us on this adventure. I've enjoyed the process; the shopping, finding, coffee and lunch breaks, the laundry, and meeting the lovely people on the way! Oh, and the bathroom art is true genius, interesting, and pretty.
I agree with every word. It has felt like the viewer’s own little house; we celebrate every win from a well-framed piece of art, to perfectly fitted, elegant bed skirts for the guest room. I want to take credit for those stunning curtains from Etsy. This is not in a creepy, horror movie type of way, but a delightful part of the internet way.
The flea market finds are extraordinary. Julie has a wonderful eye. Perhaps part of it comes from all the knowledge she’s gained from all her work to maintain and rejuvenate Mapperton, and visiting/studying other country houses.
I love the way you throw yourself into the hard work and make your vision come to fruition. You have done an amazing job. Complimenti!
You are living the dream Julie. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Beautiful. I'm happy to hear you want to keep the kitchen authentic to Italy. It IS sweet to see the old style. I had no idea how iconic it really is - I thought the old movies were exaggerating. Amazing. I want to stop by for coffee ☕ ♥
CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH YOU REFRESH THE TERRACE❤
Hi, Julie! I have a cousin that lives up in Scotland that has the most amazing pulley in her kitchen. I found one online (it's called a Pulleymaid) and the only thing I don't hang from it is laundry, but dish towels, wash rags, plastic bags, etc. that I don't want to run down to the basement to hang. Really convenient! It won't replace your veranda for hanging laundry, but will save you a trip up if it's a hand washed item.
Brilliant! I will check it out!
Lots of tenement flats in Scotland had (and stll have ) pulleys in them - they're fantastic for drying clothes as the warmest air is always up near the ceiling. I even have one in my (modern) house utility room and I love it!
It's called a Sheila maid
Julie, I’m in awe of everything you’ve done to your beautiful little home .. it’s perfect !! Longing to see how you transform the terrace, and ultimately of course the kitchen. Deep down in my heart this is a dream I still have for my husband and I, but I fear we are getting too old to take on something like this. For now we will follow with anticipation what you’ll accomplish with your “little piece of Italian Paradise” ❤️
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Julie. American guy here that first knew you from “Ladies of London” which both my partner & I enjoyed. BUT … we adore you even more on both your CZcams channels. It is easy to see that you have found your true passion. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Julie! I can’t belive you bought an house in Fivizzano!!! I am from there! I am living in Florence but still spending all my holidays in my parents’house in Fivizzano!! I am looking to see you soon and maybe we can meet for an espresso in Piazza Medicea!
Followed the little Italian house from day one! I must admit, I wasn’t sure of the two color walls and now love them! It took the art work to make them pop and blend old and modern together. Can’t wait for the next project and more of your amazing village and outdoor cafes! Love Saturdays for the release of new videos on both of your channels❤️
Thank you so much!!
we use ceramic tiles which look like wood in SWFL due to humidity and easy cleaning too. generates no dust at all.
Home Depot has tiles that mimic every kind of wood and in every level of distress these days.
I love Zodok the Priest! American here in Connecticut, British ancestry. They way Handel built that song to the crescendo gives me goosebumps everytime.Have a great time at the Coronation my friend. ❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
Oh I absolutely love your Little Italian House. It is an absolute delight!!! 😃Xx
Wow, Nestor is enormous from the last time I saw him in a video!
Julie! Your piccola casa is amazing! I love that you have furnished it with secondhand treasures. It is so unique yet stylish. Can’t wait to see what you do on the terrace 😊
🥰🥰🥰
You have done such a beautiful job renovating this home ❤️ I love your style and how you were able to source the materials! I can’t wait to see everything completed!
🙏🏻🥰
The two toned walls are awesome! Really suit the home
They look great and have the added bonus-especially in the hallway of being a bit darker so that scuffs and dings won’t be as pronounced.
It’s fabulous. I went to college in Florence, Firenze. My dream was always a little place in Tuscany. I enjoy living vicariously thru you. And, I love your interactions with Luke. You’re a charming couple.
🥰🥰
My daughter went to school in Florence about 20 yrs. ago as well, to study Humanities, History & Art. For awhile I thought she would marry into an Italian family, but she was only 19 & I discouraged her ...After finishing her year-course, she got a job refinishing old antique furniture & even 'Tole' painting in a more Mediterranean style blended with the traditional Swedish style of Tole painting. I wanted her to continue in a more craftsman trade / Antique Restoration / Fine-Art Restoration direction but she broke up with her boyfriend & wanted to come home. (There is a need for ongoing restoration in all the ancient churches & buildings & chateaus, etc. all across Europe & there are TONS of these workshops & schools in or near Florence) She ended up going to Smith, so I guess she made the right decision. But ever since then, living in Italy has been a secret dream of mine. I was last there on my 13th birthday. I live vicariously through Julie as well!

Sounds a bit like my story. I majored in art conservation. I did a lot of internship.
Definition: you pay the company or teacher for the privilege of interning.
I learned a lot, but ended up in the family business. Fashion.
How lovely! I'm so thrilled to see a beautiful makeover of a good old property!
This little Italien house has turned out a real jewel, you have done such a fantastic job and are very talented putting it all together, just love it ❤
So lovely. Looking forward to kitchen reno.
Everything you’ve done thus far in your little villa is so calming and simplistically elegant. Love it!
You have a lot to say your husband can’t get a word in! You’ve done an amazing job on your house abroad without your husband to help you physically hard work by yourself well done
You have done a great job. Enjoy your little Italian home. Greetings from Italy.
We need a playlist for these Italy videos so we can watch them in order. Please please ❤❤
Good idea!
Love that little house, can’t wait to see this video~
I only just discovered your Channel, and am enamored with it. Your style is lovely, and your ability to acquire such lovely antiques at your local market, makes the adventure more fun. Thank you, you are an Inspiration. I'm looking forward to your upcoming episodes.
Your decorating is brilliant, Julie, absolutely brilliant if I do say so myself. Never a dull moment in your life as you are truly one who has proven that with hard work and with a purpose - i.e., buying an Italian home - anything can be achieved with a vision.
I love the videos with the two of you chatting about what has been done.
*I can't upvote this video enough, it is inspiring* . I am building a small colonial house in Querétaro Mexico, and yes, I am using flea market furniture. The whole process is totally enjoyed. Colonial and old stile houses are the best, they are timeless.
Julie, Bravo!!! Your tenacity and perseverance has paid off. I hope you, your family and all those with whom you share this lovely home with, enjoy all the hard work everyone has put into it…Cheers!!!
I really love the collected vintage look! You have done beautiful work. And the photography in the bathroom looks amazing 💛
I love these two together! Such s good sense of humor, they complement each other .❤ beautiful home!
that happens a lot in France. The reason it was not declared to you was because they don't declare another bathroom as it raises the tax.. so for some 'reason' we have another room that doesn't 'exist' either
I have really enjoyed your little Italian house transformation. Each week is interesting, fun and informative, from coffee to flea markets, cold immersion, ski-ing and the wonderful sound of the church bells. The house has become an elegant home in its simplicity. I am looking forward to the terrace transformation, it will be exciting! You are so creative and hard working, and you are a person of humility and integrity. Makes you a very special human being. Thank you Julie. I also love how supportive and loving Luke is toward you.
🥰🥰🥰
I'm from Carrara, it's so nice to see what you're doing here in the north of Tuscany! We need ppl like you who can give a second life to these houses, and who are ready to enjoy the unknown towns down here. By the way, you're doing an amazing job with your house, thank you for sharing :)
Thank you so much!!
🤗 Good One! Love it!
After all this time and trying to keep up, even I missed the 2nd bathroom. 🤷♀️ I'm gonna back track for that, first!
