    Thank you for bringing this most common symptoms in kids with autism. I sometimes find myself being uncomfortable when my son talks about something over and over but I learned that I cannot force him to be like me. As you said as long as it is safe for himself and others, he has the same right like other kids. His happiness is most important factor for me. Thank you for your videos.

    My child’s obsession is hanging stuff from a rope and thinking he has made an elevator. This has made me very angry because he has taken down every picture that I have hanged in my house except a few. When he does not get his way he screams very loud regardless if in public or not and as an introvert this type of behavior drives me insane.

      Parenting autistic children definitely has its challenges, I totally agree and understand. It’s okay to vent sometimes. And I know you still love your child.

    Approaching women and touching their hair and hugging them I assume became especially problematic once the pandemic arrived and social distancing came into play?

    I feel like my son's obsession with cars IS hurting him, but not physically; its making it impossible for him to focus on anything else, talk about anything else, or enjoy anything else. I don't know if I should remove them. I don't want to take his joy away, but sometimes it's a huge compulsion for him and he seems anxious when he plays. His therapists all disagree on what to do about it and I'm at a total loss.

      It’s just so hard, isn’t it? We try our best with the information that we have, but sometimes don’t know if we’re doing the right thing. I feel that so deeply in my soul. I wonder if it would be possible to set aside “car time” during the day, so he does get to have that joy/satisfaction/need met, but then other times of the day, he’s encouraged to play with something different?

      That's a good idea! It is so hard to know what to do; you want to see him happy and interested in something, but he gets almost frantic at times when he's playing with them. To be honest we have overindulged him in terms of the amount trucks he has. There are so many! I've been slowly taking a few away every time he's away at grandma's so they're more manageable, that way we can contain them in one box. But he also makes them out of Legos, which is a creative activity that we don't want to hinder, but then we have to regulate the trucks AND the Legos. He even has paper trucks that we draw and cut out together, which tickle his brain in the same way. I take a look at the situation sometimes and feel like it is so out of control I don't even know where to start! Thank you so much for your videos and response. Sometimes we feel so alone in this. I am just so worried that any mistakes I make now when he's young will have a negative lasting effect on him, and I'll regret it forever. Ugh!

      I feel the exact same way. My 3.5 year old is obsessed with clocks and won’t talk about anything else. He seeks them out, he draws them, he watches them on tv. It feels like it never stops. Clocks also frustrate him he will watch clock shows then have a meltdown. I have been very frustrated as i know he loves clocks and he can’t let it go.

    Thank you very much! What are your thoughts on NAC supplement, could you do a video on this?

    • @yourautismgameplan1637
      @yourautismgameplan1637  Před 2 lety

      NAC can be a powerful detoxifier and antioxidant. Usually, I start with small doses and work up, since many times our autistic children don’t tolerate over-detoxification well. Check out my course for more info on NAC and in depth information on how to help your child at home yourautismgameplan.com/course/

    My girl likes to play obsessivly with dolls and with plastic vegetables. It doesn't interfere but it certainly not helpful since there is little interaction involved so they gap to her age group only increases.
