    Lol I thought the thumbnail was a literal pumpkin variety fromthe gardening channels I follow. He better be nicknamed a pumpkin type name!!! I had to double take

    Was I the only one who noticed the thumbnail was of a pill millipede and not a roly poly? They are very distantly related, not even in the same order and are similar only in appearance

    In our family-owned private house, these were the most common things in the backyard. 😀 And I still love to watch these, they are fascinating. I'm from eastern Europe.

      If it doesn’t, it’s not a roly poly variety of isopod lol

    It would be cool if you focused more on the "why" like, why does the mother take care of its young where other crustaceans don't, or why do they have such long lifespans?

    I own some isopods that don’t curl up. Was that targeted to armadillidium?

    • @siyg
      @siyg Před rokem +1

      Yes, the isopods that can roll up into balls are called roly polys. They belong to the families Armadillidae and Armadillididae. You probably have some other isopod belonging to the genuses porcellio or porcellionides.

    I just wish they would stay away from my wild maitake mushrooms. I'm sure I've eaten a good number of them....
