Procissão Marítima de Regresso ao Livramento - Nossa Senhora do Carmo - Fuzeta

Diz o povo que, muitos anos atrás, se levantou um forte temporal quando os pescadores se encontravam na sua labuta, no alto mar; em terra, as mulheres, desesperadas, fizeram uma enorme fogueira no adro da igreja, ponto mais alto da povoação, procurando orientar os seus homens no caminho certo de regresso.
Dos barcos no mar alto, os pescadores viram a luz distante e a imagem de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, que os acompanhou até chegarem sãos e salvos a terra firme.
Tudo isto se terá passado num dia 16 de Junho, e até hoje faz-se anualmente a fogueira no adro da igreja, honrando a sua padroeira, ponto mais alto dos festejos da Fuzeta.
People say that, many years ago, there was a strong storm when the fishermen were working on the high seas; on land, the women, desperate, made a huge fire in the churchyard, the highest point in the village, trying to guide their men on the right path of return.
From the boats on the high seas, the fishermen saw the distant light and the image of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, who accompanied them until they reached dry land safe and sound.
All of this took place on the 16th of June, and even today a bonfire is lit in the churchyard every year, honoring its patron saint, the highest point of the festivities in Fuseta.
