No, she’s supremely focused. She’s possessing that trumpet
Yeah that trumpet does HER bidding
Ultra Instinct Trumpetist
@@jacoborivas4584surprisingly accurate considering the fact that UI is inspired by flow state.
Exactly
Exactly what I was saying
You can tell in her eyes she’s practiced this countless times - goes into a kind of trance from all the rehearsing. Brava 👏
The Taoists refer to it as "wei wu wei," literally "action no-action." It refers to being passive within yourself while watching your body perform, and comes from long practice and having the strength and courage to let go of your body and allow it to follow its nature without needing to wrest control of it from your unconscious selves.
@@NoJusticeNoPeace That's really cool.
No need to think anymore. That's great.
lol I swear, people just say this kind of stuff because they think this is what they're supposed to say. What about her eyes makes it so obvious that she's in a trance? She's just looking straight ahead.
On the contrary, I feel she is really focused and very consciously trying not to make a mistake. I say it because of her expression of relief and relaxation right after she finishes that part.
Didn't know Leslie Knope could play the trumpet???? Multi-talented queen!
I thought Amy Poehler haha
I CLICKED ON THE VIDEO THINKING THE SAME AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED HAHAH
Came here for this
I clicked because I thought it was Amy Poehler!
RIGHT i was like WAIT IS THAT AMY POEHLER lmfao she looks SO similar!
Very well done. As a former trumpet player, hutting those high notes is hard enough. To hit them that clearly and precisely and at that speed is a major feat.
From city council to the orchestra. Leslie Knope really has it all.
I wanted to see if anyone was going to comment this, they look identical 😂
@@tommybrader7937 wait that’s not her?!?
@@Ismael-kc3ry 😂😂
jesus christ i saw ur PFP and thought it was me but i didnt leave that comment i thought my acc was hacked or smth lmao
This video showed up in my recommendations every day for a month and I got tricked every time. Finally, I relented.
As an ex-trumpet player i can confirm that they do contain souls and possess your body at random. Especially during solos
As a professional trumpet player, I concur.
As an advanced Trumpet player, it is one of the coolest things to feel

@@skarlettsapphire4065 You have my respect
@@bowlerhatguy1925 ill be here all week 👋
Not only she can play the trumpet very well, but she can also act in a show called parks and rec
We all know that
that is not Amy Poehler.
I thought she looked a lot like Amy Poehler too! 😂
When I saw the thumbnail, I was like "Is that Nicole Sullivan from Mad TV?", but I guess I can see some Amy Poehler too
I knew I had seen her somewhere before, what a talented artist!
the “f#@k yes i did it” in the end 😂❤
Why did you have to introduce foul language.
as a trumpet player, this is phenomenal like oh my golly those are some REALLY high notes. It's hard to even get above the top line let alone that high 💀
They’re really not that high. When you get out of middle school and if you continue pursuing trumpet, you’ll surprise yourself with how much you can do. Keep practicing!
@@VainFriggus truth
I know nothing about trumpet, but I feel every notes hits my soul
Yeah, this scares me
I'm a trombone player. Playing notes on high ledger lines hurts my lips after a while; I cannot imagine how difficult it'd be for trumpets considering the mouthpiece
She is the exact equivalent of a world class guitarist shredding his ass off.
no, this isnt really good
As trumpet player myself all I can say is she is a master. To reach those high notes continuously is a true labor.
Homegirl made the trumpet sound like a woodwind, and that is a compliment! That amount of control and precision is otherworldly...
Sounds nothing like a woodwind, and that’s an insult. The trumpet is bright and flashy, which is exactly how she performed this solo. A woodwind could never (except maybe saxophone but that’s just brass with a reed)
@@VainFriggusi think they're talking about how woodwinds can trill easily whereas trumpets usually cant?
@@VainFriggusnot about tone
@@Zoeguacamole what trills? There were no trills in this video. Trilling isn’t an advanced skill anyways
@@VainFriggus Lip trills aren't something you can just do naturally.
Love the way it says “stare deeply into audience’s soul”
f@#k yes I did it
Most people who can do things amazingly well are actually insane.
I actually played this song in high school jazz band. The bass part is the most mind-numbing thing ever created.
🤟🏻
It's good to see that Leslie Knope's hair still has its life on track.
She came and gave a masterclass at my high school my junior year years ago. She is an incredible player and an absolute blast to learn from. Ten thing is such a great group.
This is dumb, but did she sound like Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation?
@@Sam-fr1kc Idk but it would be really funny if she introduced herself as Leslie Knope
@@doubleg1749 yeah it would
How is she doing? I heard she had cancer? It sounds like its going well.
you hit that?
If you look closely in her dead stare eyes you can hear the anime flashback where her instructor was giving her that one piece of advice that was both literal and spiritual that’s carrying her through this song right now
THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!
"Not quite my tempo" 😂
"Literally." **heavy sigh**
The stoic look in her eyes and flawless mastery of breath control is giving me life. 😆
So grateful for her recovery from cancer, and she's back at playing again.
I'm out of touch, I didn't know she'd been fighting cancer

Yeah you have to tongue fast to play notes fast
@Hunter yep i understand
That’s a master right there. Become one.
This is the result of countless thousands of hours of focused attention and precise attention to the smallest of details combined with heart and joy. The trumpet possessed nothing.
She did an AMAZING job...
but that horn line is SICK 0:25

This is rlly hard to play super fast and accurately. I can play this, but at a much slower tempo, this is very impressive. I can’t even tell if she’s using double tongue or slurring it, which makes it all the better bc it shows how great her technique is.
She’s doing both at different parts.
I keep coming back to watch this solo, it was truly something else! thanks as well for the transcription!
thanks for transcripting this! I was looking forward to playing this!
Didn't know Leslie Knope played trumpet
I came to the comments for this.
Duke Silver did not know either,
my first thought
Tine Thing Helseth be cryin
Is she playing against her will?
Yes, "Against Her Will" is a beautiful song. The composer's best friend is named William. It was written for William's wife.
She’s playing against her will against her will, according to the title
eh, she smiled at the end i think she was really focused
Does she play the Trumpet Voluntary or does she play Against Her Will?
@@jamesredford2854 well done
Who knew Leslie Knope had such talent...
Her face doesn’t move. She doesn’t press the trumpet into her mouth. She is purely using her core muscles, air, and instrument fundamentals to do all of that and that is insanely impressive.
Some people can play complicated passages by getting into the zone. They just have it buried in their subconscious and need to let it out. Not her, she was pure focus the whole time. That was a feat of fully conscious brainpower.
Yes, I hate how people are trying to downplay her skill as if she was in a “trance” or something. She was focused and played each note being fully aware of every one of them, making sure they’re all played correctly. If you stop focusing while playing an instrument, it becomes obvious
Libertango is one of those songs that’ll never get old to me
Amazing technique!!!
Ayy found this randomly on my feeds. Never got mesmerized by trumpet betore this. This is SOOOO gorgeous! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
I believe that the demon possessing her is called.. talent. Absolute talent. SLAY!

Leslie Knope plays a damn fine trumpet. Would like to see her go on tour with Duke Silver and Mouserat.

It is so cool to watch someone be so good at an instrument when I’m sitting over here playing clarinet in a middle school band.
This solo is not really super difficult, it’s something I played in college and throughout my 20’s. You should keep practicing your clarinet and try other instruments as well to see which ones you’re most interested in!
