I'm a Canadian born senior, and the MASSIVE flooding of Canada with immigrants (mostly from India) is DESTROYING this country. As a senior I have been priced out of the rental market due to intense competition for housing with these newcomers. It has driven up inflation where many folks can't afford groceries. Do NOT come to Canada. We need to stop all immigration for several years until our infrastructure has caught up. Then resume at reasonable levels.

These People are just using the Student Visa avenue as a ticket to Entry into Canada . They couldn't care less about studying . They are Economic Refugees . Foreign students in Canada are given an automatic pass even if they can't speak or understand a word of English (classes taught ONLY in English with zero translators) all because of the money the universities earn in increased costs to foreign students. Companies think they are hiring professionals to find that they are now stuck with a foreign person that they can't fire but who are completely unqualified for the job or any job in Canada when they don't even speak the language.

To my knowledge when you get a student visa, you also get a permanent residency card. My gen x father got a scholarship from the Japan foundation and worked part time for other accommodations. Correct me if I am wrong though.

That is an unfortunate situation for your people. Unfortunately, there are some wealthy opportunistic Indian people also coming to Canada and throwing down more money then a house is worth and along with several other factors (foreign investments, money laundering by foreign investors, speculators, low interest rates (the increase in interest rates to slow the hot real estate market was intentionally delayed), insufficient housing starts AND a government that was complacent in setting up housing regulations to protect Canadians) has SEVERELY damaged the housing situation in Canada. Young Canadians can't afford a new home nor go into the rental market as it has become too costly. I can only imagine how difficult it is for foreign students who have to pay more in any other country as an international student on top of Canadian housing costs.

let's be honest as an international student I am in awe of how some internationals can study in Canada when they can't even speak English properly .. when I came here I needed to pass IELTS and get a band 7 for everything all my documents and transcripts were directly sent from the official email of my institution. I need to pass an exam before enrolling for my course, I have criminal, abuse registry, and child registry checks in my country and even when I am in Canada. Did all the immunizations needed and abide by their law i need to submit all these documents every 6 months access. to the policy of the program I am doing. And as an international remember you are coming to Canada they have their own culture so you need to respect and adjust to it, not Canada adjusting to you... even though Canada is diverse they have its own rules so yes adapt to the place where you are. And to them blaming the agency you the people who are using them knew exactly what they were getting into now you are complaining I did all my applications through DIY as IRCC is a direct applicant why need agents for application. Ircc should also question why a person needs an agent to process their applications. If they can't understand basic instruction and basic legal matters would you think those students will be able to survive the education system here in Canada? let's be real a lot of students are taking short-term courses, short like 8 months, and yes to get PR (I wouldn't lie cause that would be hypocrisy all international students have that aim, and if you say no just stay in your country). Now this a lesson to IRCC that they really need to make a thorough background before offering a PR permit ..and please when you are in public speak English respect the people around you... and don't speak too loud in your language when you are in working places.. uphold professionalism again remember you are in Canada a french English speaking country. The only reason the country is afloat is because the bond market thinks Canadas debt is better than a country like India. One of my job collage born here and her family was born here, she was crying and complaining about her kids can not get jobs at Wendy's of Tim Hortons bcuz all local Canadian students jobs are taken over by Indian students. what a Shameful and she was so upset.

The problem is people who did not get seats in good Indian universities look for an easy way out. To go out and work abroad, you need good English and good basic subjects. Scamsters exploit these hapless youngsters who did not make the grade in India.
Okay I have seen some non-sense in the comments section and I think Indian government should stop Indian students going to Canadian universities thereby fuelling their toothless economy by billions of dollars every year. Why can’t Trudeau take a simple stand against granting visa to Indian students if they think they are a major player in this world. The truth is, Indian education is growing and it’s good enough but at this point, most students who go there don’t know why they are going. The people who get caught in such problems are desperate people who are largely lured by a foreign and an exotic life. You missed the boat. I moved up here in 2018 graduated from Canadian 2 year college with business diploma right when covid hit in 2020. Special TR to PR program happened. I ran out got a job for a few days then PR. Was sweet.

Indians creating quick access to permanent resident schemes in Canada is an issue.
Still, so much of the population earns under $50k where they cost the govt more than they contribute. There isn’t enough housing for all Canadians excluding all temporary students.
The problem is that to be “nice” and hand out PR is political suicide for the liberals because all Canada felt this impact. Every year the housing going up 10-25% as there are so few rentals.
Even Canadians who never voted right wing in their lives will vote conservatives next election and not out of racism, but self survival (food, rent, employment, community health)
Student Visa is not a ticket for PR status that's why it is called student visa to study, these people don't get that. If you want PR status just apply for Permanent residency path plain and simple.

If you make it possible for foreign students to get a work permit and then the PR, why are you surprised that they do so? Most people won't go to a foreign country to study if they're not going to stay there. If you don't want them to abuse this path, just abolish post-graduate work permits.
@@inenfmk Hey I have a lot of foreign students classmates back on my day. They just study here, they are mostly Chinese, Korean and Spanish. I guess for South Indians doesn't really understand that like a student is a student. OMG
They are of no use here and inviting international disgust. This country in particular.

These students think they bought citizenship when they were invited here to study. Yes it's predatory, but you can easily google Canada and find out that we have some of the highest cost of living in the world. What they fail to say here is that Canadians are struggling really hard right now and the students are taking up housing and food from charities further exacerbating this crisis. They are also rude and have no interest in speaking to anyone outside of their own culture. On top of that the men need to realize sexual harassment isn't normalized here like in India (i travelled therefor four months and was relentlessly sexual harassed and assaulted) stop being creepy to western women. It's gross and it will get you nowhere.

Rich, smart & don't care immigrate: US, UK
Rich, not smart, a little want to immigrate: Australia
Poor, not smart, extremely want to immigrate: Canada.
Take out PR or Immigration from the student VISA process. Lets see how many will apply...
