    Both Maurice Evans and Agnes Moorehead made their reputations in the legitimate theater, playing in both classical drama , comedy, even musicals by the greatest of dramatists like Shakespeare, Aescalyus, Bernard Shaw. Behrman, etc. The only difference between the two, was one did it on the West End, the other on Broadway. You can see that training and background in their performances of these two perfectly if broadly created characters.

      if so yes they are fake. at times little Tabatha has to go upstairs to her room. using those stairs. i read she had to climb them but they did not lead to anywhere. she has to stand there at the top of the stairs until the scene was over then she came back down.

    • @anitastodolak9882
      @anitastodolak9882 Před 7 lety +23

      tvmoviefan By the looks of Elizabeth's hairstyle in this scene I would guess this is around 1972 or 71. So in that case she would be 39. And yes she have kids 3 in fact. Bill Asher Jr. (1964) Robert Asher (1965.) and Rebecca Asher (1969) All with her then husband and director Bill
      Asher. As you probably have guessed by now, I'm a MEGA FAN of Elizabeth Montgomery and Bewitched! I just adore her! I have the complete box set of Bewitched. So I consider myself an "authority" on her. And I can usually tell what year it is based on her hairstyles. There were a lot of them! Lol! I hope that helps.

      Understood! Nothing better than talking with someone who knows it. I like to think I am an expert on my shows as well but this was not one of them. Have not seen Bewitched regularly in about 30 years. I knew she had 3 children and some of her pregnancies were written into the show and she was married to someone involved in the show. Lucky guy! What a class lady! She was gone too soon!

      tvmoviefan. That is soooooooo true! I just adore her! I looked up to her as a mother figure. I didn't have such a great childhood so watching Elizabeth was like an escape for me. I was heartbroken when she died! I remember saying, "Oh my God! Samantha died!" Thank God for Utube and DVDS! Elizabeth will live on forever! God bless her sweet and loving soul! I'm glad that I could be of help answering your questions. Bewitched forever!

      The way I felt about Bill Bixby who was like a father figure to me because I grew up without mine. First celebrity who died and made me shed a tear. • @majkus
      @majkus Před 5 lety +13

      Of course, Dick Sargent was gay (so was Maurice Evans; we won't even mention Paul Lynde…) and Dick York wasn't. York's Darren was much more obviously attracted to Samantha. But yeah, even Robert Reed was more able to portray a convincing heterosexual character than Sargent. For whatever reason, Sargent's character was written and directed as more dyspeptic and grumpy than York's had been.

    • @jacktheman2895
      @jacktheman2895 Před 4 lety +8

      I am sure I and in the minority but I think Dick Sargent did okay in the role. He was more calm than Dick York's version. I am 40 so I wasn't around when the show originally aired. I grew up watching repeats and I actually viewed Dick Sargent's portrayal before Dick York's so maybe that has something to do with how I feel about the two actors.

    • @NeluThat70sKid

      It's really hard to tell who made the better Darrin. Dick York could be a bit of a flake, always on the verge of freaking out, where Dick Sargent could be more down-to-earth but also rather uptight. So let's just call a spade a spade ☺
