- Billie Hayes, best known as Witchiepoo from "HR Pufnstuf", appeared in "Bewitched"'s last season in Ep. #238: "Hansel and Gretel in Samanthaland" as the Wicked Witch from Hansel and Gretel. Here she is seen with Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha confronting her about the whereabouts of Tabitha who popped into the story.

Billie Hays had the best witch's laugh ever.
Yes !
She was funny as Witchiepoo.
Right up there with her team up with Margaret Hamilton on the Paul Lynde Halloween Special.
Billie Hays on Sid & Marty Krofft H R Pufnstuff wanting Freddy the golden flute ..
@@garymattscheck9066 She was the best!!
Samantha vs Witchiepoo! priceless!
@Jerrol Hale Penny Marshall auditioned, but Burke got the job. She jumped on Sid Krofft's desk, and cackled like a maniac. They hired her on the spot.
So true!
Billie Hayes was also Weenie the Genie on Sid & Marty Kroft's Lidsville.
I couldn't believe I missed that on the show. Witchiepoo from H R Puffinstuff.
The 'Wicked Witch' was lucky that it was Tabatha's mom and NOT her Grandmother Endora who came to the rescue . . . .
LOL
Witchiepoo from HR Pufnstuf. RIP 29/4/2021
Azwru
Now that would be interesting!
Ikr!!
Rest in Peace, Billie. You were two wonderful witches, and a genial genie.
She also took on the Teen Titans as the voice of Mother May-Eye.
@@DavidBDavis-lz7bt I forgot about that! :-)
@@milesalpha1
One of my favorites! She loved playing the odd comical characters, and was always amazing and hilarious.
They had to change her costume & makeup so she wouldn’t look like Witchiepoo.
@@Nacho-Mamma Nothing needed changing; it was a completely different character, so she had a different look.
Two of the Best Witches meet. Classic.
Hello, five years ago lol
You forgot the wicked witch of the West Margaret Hamilton
Billie Hayes was the BEST!!
If the show was taped before a live audience, there'd be a mighty applause for Billie Hayes
Elizabeth Montgomery was gorgeous!
five stars for her
When I was a kid and before I learned English, I used to call the show Bewitched, “La Bruja Bonita” or “The Beautiful/pretty Witch”. Elizabeth Montgomery’s beauty didn’t get past me at 6 yrs. old.
I saw this aged about 3 and remember loving it whenever Samantha came on screen .
A few years later I realised why ;-)
a true queen 😍🤩😩👑
In French it’s “Ma sorciere bien aimee”
My adorable/popular witch
La Bruja Bonita, how charming! I like it.
"Poor little dear was wondering around in the woods, lost, and grandma put her in the guest room..." LOLOLOL!!! 😁😄😃😂
Billie Hayes' laugh reminds me of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz
Definitely an inspiration for Witchiepoo.
In a way she does
@SHÆNISY LOL!!!!!! absolutely correct!!!
@@Nunofurdambiznez Like Kamala Harris For Sure,LOL!!! 😆😆😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Cherry Red I Know Right,Sarah Palin,LOL!!! 😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you BILLIE HAYES for doing your part to help tame mankind with your gift and talent. Your "Witchiepoo" and "Mammy Yokem" were the best!! Your legacy is sealed..
I remember her as "Weenie" in Lidsville - a lot nicer, but SO creepy (LOL)
Elizabeth was smoking hot in this episode.she was one of the true beauties of the world, inside and out.
She certainly was looking her very best, defining her style with unerring awareness of her own strengths. But she was also unhappy by this final season and, maybe not in this episode, but in several others, her impatience is palpably close to the surface. Near the end, ABC had moved the show from its safe and comfortable Thursday night perch to do battle on Saturdays with _All In The Family_ when that groundbreaking new show was unstoppable.
you mean the witch? she's so ugly in side.
How hair ,makeup and clothes would work well today as well!! That scene did not date this episode.
@@williamzhao2521 how so?
Potential cannibalism avoided.
Elizabeth was very beautiful and she wore great outfits in that show. She played he part very well. Still sad that she is gone.
On this last season, I read somewhere to stand up for women's lib, Liz went bra less in most of these episodes.
Ronald Rude I agree with you it is sad I have the whole Bewitched set.
R.i. P Elizabeth Montgomery
She changed her look in last season or two to more hippie chick
@@rsprockets7846 if you contrast her look at the shows beginning in black n white, the styles were so proper she looked like a toddler playing house. so young to me.
Witchiepoo was right up there with the Wicked Witch of the West in my childhood memories. As a matter of fact, they appeared together in the Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur) Halloween Special.
Damn...when Sam turn Billy Hayes into that fairy godmother she wasn't bad looking.
"A Fairy God Mother is good, and sweet..... BLECH!" I almost lost my water on that line. R.I.P. Miss Hayse. You were great!
Loved Bewitched and HR Pufnstuf
Love Billie Hayes, Especially on Pufnstuf and Lidsville she and Elizabeth Montgomery were fantastic together
I recognized her voice immediately Witchiepoo!
the last season image of her was the best! That hair and most of the clothes still stand today!!!!!!!!!
I had the biggest crush on Elizabeth Montgomery when I was a kid. To this day,I still think she she was so gorgeous.
Yes many of us boys did.
rip billie hayes may 4th 2021 one of the best "wicked witches" of all time who also had the biggest heart
One year ago today.
I was in the movie The Awaking Land with Elizabeth (and Hal Holbrook) when I was in 6th grade ..
I got to spend a lot of time with her and she was a very sweet lady .. I still corresponded with her until a few months prior to her death ..
Oh really? That’s amazing. I don’t know the movie the awaking land will have to check it out.
Thank you Elizabeth Montgomery for helping me through puberty! 😉😜
Behind her squeaky clean image Sam was a pretty powerful witch. NONE SHALL PASS! I do agree, Billie looked cute here. A cross between Mae West and Bette Midler.
Yes
I wonder what Miss Midler or the late Miss West would have had to say about THAT? BTW, Miss Midler has said that she did a Mae West impression on 'The Tonight Show' and got a legal cease-and-desist letter from Miss West herself as a result!
@@wardarcade7452yea that’s true. West was silky because drag queens have imitated her for decades. She should’ve been flattered.
Elizabeth Montgomery the wife i always wanted! she was and will always be a Class Act!
Loved Billie Hayes Witchie Poo on Pufnstuf. Love Elizabeth Montgomery too. Thanks for posting.
One thing that I loved about Samantha was that she wasn't above playing dirty when it was necessary.
She has the perfect witchiepoo laugh....good stuff!
Billie hit the mark again, she plays the best witches
Samantha, the perfect WILF!
You almost expect to see Orson and Seymour hanging around...heeheehee...
Witchy Pooh: “Oranges, poranges! Who cares?! Oranges, poranges! Who cares?! Cause there ain’t no rhyme to oranges!”
Bill hays is a riot love that laugh
O loved bewitched as well
Billie Mayes was such a good performer.
I remember the first time I saw this on TV. I said "That's Billie Hayes!" My Wife was like "I don't know who that is." I said "Witchiepoo from H.R. Pufnstuf." She wasn't as pleased as I was.
That was So Wonderful. I recognized the voice immediately! What a Treat!
Two of the best witches throwing shade.
Elizabeth and Billie are two of the most wonderful actresses I love watching on TV. They will never be forgotten. RIH ELIZABETH and Billie. God bless you both.
Billie Hayes was actually a bad witch before she played as Witchiepoo on HR Pufnstuf. She does have great a witch's laugh ever. Samantha and Witchiepoo both are witches is priceless and out of this world. RIP Witchiepoo your gonna be terribly missed.
Yeah, Sam may have been able to twitch her nose but she couldn't begin to cackle like Miss Hayes!
Witchypoo best witch ever. RIP we just lost. Her last month
Billie Hayes is so good at her acting and her part as the wicket witch and Witchiepoo from HR Puffin Stuff. I love the sounds effects of Samantha's magical powers when she turned he into a good witch and back. This was a very funny episode, but I loved the episode where she goes back in time to the Salem witch trial for the second time. I wished that you could that post the witch trial scene.
RIP Billie Hays 1925 - April 29, 2021 96yrs thank you for your Wonderful Laughter and Character Witchiepoo.
I love the laugh at tbe end. Excellent laugh 😱😲😨😎 That's definitely a keeper for my sample library.
Happy Birthday Billie Hayes! Thank you for all the wonderful memories ❤
RIP Billie Hayes you where a wonderful part of child hood!
Yes the last year of this show 1972, the clothes almost look modern and current for today. Liz looked so young with the long hair parted down the middle. She was almost 40 here. Hard to believe she would be 78 years old now.
And closer to 90 now!
@@generalyellor8188 87 but who is counting
@@maryeverling8238 She died way too young -- and so did both Darrin's.
@@maryeverling8238 obviously you are. He said CLOSER to 90. He was correct.
I like the way Samantha says, "I happen to be the real thing."
"A fairy godmother is sweet... and good... yech!"
LOL Love her delivery! Funny episode and a nice
meeting of witches.... 🧹🔮 RIP Billie Hayes...
Back when actors were there to entertain us, not shovel their politics in our faces! It's funny how much the great ones become part of our lives
Just saw this. Wow how the memories come back. Family and times before worries. Brilliant🤗
Elizabeth actually became a bigger star than her father Robert!
They DO look a heck of a lot alike, too -- the upper half of their faces is very close.
Both of these ladies were Fantastic actresses! I miss them both. I am so glad they were on this show together, & with this storyline. 💗 Elizabeth was so articulate, & knowledgeable. Plus beautiful. & I have always loved Billie.
Billie Hayes......the best witch too ever appear on TV.
Howiloved Samantha and bewitched , plus old witchypoo in this one . Great days😘😘😘❤❤❤😘😘😘😘😄😄😄❤❤❤
Wow Elizabeth was Beautiful
"Television's Grace Kelly," I've read her called. Absolutely apt.
Beautiful...and THEN SOME!😍
robtay1963 Agnes Moorehead was far more beautiful woman ever
Tabitha was too
I've even met her
Two of the best Witches that haunted the TV screen in my time. The old lady living in the woods was a portrayal from Witchcraft accounts in the dark age. The eating of children (unbaptized ) was fundamental in procuring of spells. ✨🌙
IN THE LOVING AND MEMORY OF ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY YOU WILL BE MISSED BY FANS AROUND THE WORLD. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE VIDEO. TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE.
I remember watching Bewitched as a child, and I was smitten with Elizabeth Montgomery, but didn’t quite know why. 😂
Witchie Poo referred to herself as "Grandma".
YIKES! Don 't let Endora find out.
Billie Hays and Margaret Hamilton will always be my favorite evil witches just as Elizabeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorhead will always be my favorite good witches.
Margaret Hamilton was and is the best there ever was or ever will be. I channel her Witchery sometimes when I’m casting spells.
Oh, and Endora she was a favorite also. I also channel her.
Endora was a GOOD witch???
@@Zoras88 I should have said they were good at playing witches. But, really, I don’t consider Endora to be an evil witch. More mischievous.
@@Zoras88 Like Endora said when 3 little boys asked her if she was a good witch or bad witch: "Comme-ci comme ça".
Wow! Elizabeth was drop dead gorgeous. Billie Hayes > a real live action cartoon - unmatched in what she did.
This one was great
I understand that Billie Hayes is a big animal advocate.
Classic!
How could anyone give this a "thumbs down"?
“ How did Sam stay so thin and beautiful well into her 30’s & 40’s ? She was a dream babe.”
Billie you've never looked better as Fairy Godmother !!!!!
I loved them both!!Puffenstuff and Witchypoo!!!Fun!!
I got to meet Witchiepoo when we went on a Universal Studio Tour and saw the set of
HR Puffnstuff . It was in 1969 I think.
It was that trademark screech of hers that made the character so likeable; you were one of a kind, Billie 🙂
i love witchiepooo and Bewitched
Oh my god! I completely forgot about that episode. That show bought me so much joy as a kid.
Love this episode it's one of my favorites, this and Murder,She Wrote,Love Boat andshoot I cant remember oh well she was a really great actress and comedian RIP dear lady
Two of my favorite shows back in hte day. Our childhood is disappearing.
I never knew there was a Bewitched/HR Puffinstuff crossover! That is so cool! :)
This was good TV nothing like today
Today we get to watch the Kardashian witches and we still don't know what their appeal is and why they are so popular with all that money they have. I'd rather watch HR Puff n stuff than those talentless witches. Witchie Poo would fix them up for good.
Yes I agree
Reality TV and Woke Garbage. That's pretty much it.
Billie Hayes also appeared on the sitcom "Tabitha" in 1977. She plays a nun being interviewed by Robert Urich's "Paul Thurston". Tabitha zaps the nun and she turns from sweet to feisty and exhibits some of the mannerisms seen both here and as "Witchiepoo".
Oh wow I don’t remember that.
Billie played her characters very well! She scared the hell out of me as Witchy Poo. She was good! Loved her Mammy Yokum character, as well. Little bitty lady had a ton of talent! God Bless her and hope she is sleeping peacefully.
Witchiepoo scared you? She was played as a comedy witch.
@@fjccommish Ya but I found her creepy as hell. Lol. Especially when you're a little kid.
@@cannondaleman1me too. I loved her but I was scared of her too. The way she played witchipoo was scary for little kids. The laugh, etc were creepy. She had the perfect balance between between comedic and creepy, somehow it worked!
@@lapislazuli7876 It's funny how now, even though I'm 57, her Witchy Poo character somehow still pulls creepy memories from long ago. I'm no longer afraid of her BUT if you dig far back enough into your memories, it brings back the kid in you and brings back a little of those scary moments. LOL.
RIP Billie Hays 96 not a bad age 😌
Always enjoyed Billie Hayes' over the top acting. Very funny.
I have directtv and this morning I watched Lidsville w/ weenie lol and also H.R pufnstuf w/ witchie poo OMG...I grew up watching these really now just sweet live puppet shows I love them... so now as a 47yr old I watch just for that old childhood memory..CUTE
I watched Puffnstuff as a little kid, I loved witchiepoo!! But as an adult, I realized that the creative minds were on a lot of drugs, seems like a combination of Acid and weed. Bawhahahaha!!
RIP Billie Hayes you will be missed
Samantha: For your information your not messing around with any story book witch, I happen to be the real thing! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Billy Hayes is a riot, she was great as Witchie poo on the other kid's show, great talent.
Billie Hayes played Grandma Yokum in Lil Abner .. I think late 50s or early 60s. Once you hear her talk and laugh, you never forget it. Very talented. Everyone loved Elizabeth Montgomery.
Love this show and Elizabeth!!😊💖🙏💖
Billie Hayes, already sounding like Witchie Poo.
I don't know what to think but I actually thought Witchie Poo looked HOT as a fairy godmother, that laugh drives me crazy. I'm old now so its ok.
I loved Billie Hayes. RIP my dear.
Oh wow! It's been SO long since I've seen this! I know when I was a kid, I was like..."it's WITCHIEPOO! What's she doing on Bewitched?" LOL! I always got confused when characters were on other shows. And Bewitched was the coolest.
Yeah I would get annoyed when characters crossed over shows but also secretly I was fascinated - I was a huge Hr Pufnstuf fan and a huge bewitched fan
Billie cleans up good.
So that's what Witchiepoo looks like without her make up
Truly a great episode.
Thanks for the video man. I just adore Billie! She is part of my childhood! And to hear that Margret Hamilton loved here is the icing on the cake!!!
As a kid I absolutely adored Miss Billie Hayes... loved all her Krofft roles!
Yes loved her as the genie too. Loved anything she did. She was An amazing character actress
God damn, Elizabeth Montgomery was hot like lava!
The show made her ugly
Very hot here
There’s an episode I laugh like crazy over again and again amongst the many
I remember watching bewitched growing up. Samantha was the ideal woman to me.
I had no idea this was Billie Hayes...until now...thanks for uploading!
