I have to say, I'm impressed by the patience, & approach, but more so, over all the conditions of doing this repair on a busy city street with all that traffic....This gentleman is surely on top of his game....Excellent !!!
That made me laugh, and thanks for the kind words. It is true the struggle is real. This is the issue with living in a concrete jungle. It was great to get this fixed. Happy New Years.
@@MotionDesignStudio Your still a better person than me...I took out the door lock fuse & no longer have to electrical resistance fighting me in going up & down with the lock plunger....Now I just make believe my Civic never came with power door locks....On to better things in life...Keep the faith!!!!
@@jasonbarrett2675 , currently the door lock on the driver side is not opening and closing well as in up and down on the lock does not always happen. It could be a bad ground or failing door lock motor.
The work was great. A methodic approach to all the power lock system including the understanding of the circuitry manual and testing procedures. You have it all (door knob, actuator, control unit, power and ground). Most videos just focus on replacing the actuator. And finding the true problems which was a bastard ground wire opening. Absolutely great. Just one piece of advice since you are looking for suscribers....and so forth. You would make an ouststanding video if once you go thru the process you then just film a condenced version. You would have better images, a summary and a shorter video which will make it far more useful and interesting. Just my 2 cents. Outstanding work. It took me a hole weekend to go thru this process on my own. If only I have found your video before!!!!!!!
There are many ways to present this information online and no true formula for the masses as peoples' emotional state, desperation and algorithms impact the outcome especially the algorithms. Thanks for the feedback.
Full credit to you for a thorough job and less than ideal working conditions. I've got the very same car and so far it's just been the motors in the actuator unit failing mostly because they aren't rated for the current required to operate the mechanism. Fortunately I was able to find identical motors AR a surplus shop and I make the repair myself. The hardest part is getting the square drive fitting off of the old motor shaft before I can press it on to the new motor shaft.
I bought them from a liquidation jobber outlet and they came with no information whatsoever except for the fact that the push in terminals were the same. It was a low cost gamble on my part that payed off.
