    I have a 2023 corolla hatchback. I noticed I put the parking brake on a few days ago, and never touched it again. Please let that be the case... lol.

    A question: Do you know if engaging the Toyota EPB at higher speed in an emergency will cause rear wheels to lock up or will it be gradual? My test at 20 mph in snow is that it locks up the rear wheels. I don't want to test this at >30 mph and I can't seem to find any literature from Toyota on the emergency behavior at higher speeds. If it locks up the rears in an emergency, it is a very poorly thought out design as car will likely go out of control. I believe German automakers integrate EPB with their ABS/stability system and would only possibly lock up rears if ABS/ESC fails. I would love if qualified engineer from Toyota could shed light on this.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  Před 2 lety

      We did test Toyota RAV4 at around 75 km/hr (46 mph) and the braking was gradual. But there was no snow. Here is the link - czcams.com/video/7LLHjIkGYJo/video.html. We did another test in the snowy/icy conditions in Volvo XC40. The wheels did not lock up and ABS did work. Here is the link - czcams.com/video/X_5wQGteY_s/video.html.
