      My backlight on my cluster only works when I turn the headlights on manually. They will not come on when DLR is selected at night

      @@noahreyman4309 DRL (Daytime Running Lights) is only for the daytime, not night. On my model, the DRL does turn on the cluster backlight though. It turns on very bright, and it's not adjustable by the rheostat while in the DRL setting. On Full Headlights, the cluster backlight is adjustable by the rheostat.
      Only the dealer and specialized auto electronic shops can diagnose something like that. The dealer has probably seen that before, so it would be easier for them to figure it out.

    How about the two arrows pointing the opposite ways? What's the purpose of that? Sorry, I'm too lazy to open the manual lol
    Edit: It's just a direction indicator icon. It means that this stick is used as a signal that you're turning left or right.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 18 dny

      Good question.. The left/right arrows indicate that the turn signals are operated by this lever. I should've mentioned that in the video, but I was more focused on the lights that stay on, rather than the blinkers.

    Do you know the part number for the headlight switch on your Corolla? I have an LE trim that I want to add the fog light, and I need to change the headlight switch to the one that can control fog lights also.
    I can't find any part number for your exact headlight switch, which is the one I want (has auto switch + fog light switch).

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 6 měsíci

      You'll have to go to the dealer to get that part, and they can look it up, however, I wouldn't do it that way. Most if not all aftermarket fog lights come with a small switch that has a double-sided adhesive backing, and it can be glued in many places where it can be easily reached. Swapping the headlight lever would be only the first problem.. the second would be the wiring.. your car will probably not have the wires that go to the fog lights, the fuse box and relay.. I'm just guessing, but you'll have to check, although I doubt simply changing the lever is all that's needed. I've installed aftermarket fog lights before with the separate switch they come with, and they also come with their own fuse, and it's very easy to install them that way.

    Hey nice video. Would you by chance know why my fog lights only come on while the high beams are on at the same time?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 11 měsíci

      Are you sure?? You see the fog light icon on the dashboard, and the blue high beam one at the same time?

    • @noonelikesmike378
      @noonelikesmike378 Před 11 měsíci

      @@CleverFix Yea, I’m not sure what could be wrong with it but I noticed it after doing my state inspection. I turn the knob to activate my fog light and nothing will happen. No fog light dash light either. I’ve tried with DRL and headlights being on simultaneously but nothing. Only when I have high beams on my fog lights come on and I also get the light on my dashboard. Very strange.
      I have a 2016 Toyota Corolla S

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 11 měsíci

      @@noonelikesmike378 So if you push the lever toward the dash and activate high beams, the fogs turn on (while set to on)? And then if you pull it towards you, the fogs also turn on when you pull it towards you?
      Just asking, since that would pretty much rule out a mechanical problem in the switch.. pushing vs pulling activates different contact switches. Sometimes problems can happen at the switch itself, since they do wear out from all the movement, especially since this is also the turn signal.
      It sounds like a different problem to me though.. so I'd expect your issue to happen on both push and pull.

    • @noonelikesmike378
      @noonelikesmike378 Před 11 měsíci

      @@CleverFix Alright, so I just tested this out. Only Fog light switch engaged + pushing / pulling lever= no fog lights. Headlights and fog light switch engaged + pushing / pulling lever = high beams on / no fog lights. Only knob rotated to high beam will make the fog lights turn on.

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 11 měsíci

      @@noonelikesmike378 So that's normal, it's what I show in the video. Pushing and pulling the lever turns on the high beams, and the *blue* light on the dash indicates the high beam is on. The knob rotation *does not* turn on the high beams. Only pushing and pulling the lever does. So It sounds like your car is working fine. Remember, only when you see the blue light on the dash , they high beams are on.. and they should only show when pushing/pulling the lever, as shown in the video.

    Which one is the low beam?

    • @CleverFix
      @CleverFix  Před 3 měsíci

      Put it on Auto for automatic low beam, with the lever pulled towards you. Don't push it towards the dash, that's high beams. AUTO Will give you low beams automatically when you need them. OR turn it to the symbol at the top, which is a headlight with light rays (lines) aiming to the left and down. Don't drive on the Circle or Parking lights.
