Jerry Lee Lewis & Ken Lovelace - Toronto 1969 Reimagined with The Killer and Fiddleman up front.

- A mix of the original Keep On Rockin' film and Story of Rock and Roll dvd. Each version was chopped up to insert audience footage. Fortunately the cuts between the two were in different sections so I was able to regain the camera angle focused on Jerry for a more enjoyable experience. The second half is a side by side displaying the alternate angles used.

Today the legend, the Killer left the stage forever. Rest in peace, Mr.Lewis.🙏

As someone once said, Jerry Lee didn't just play rock n roll, he was rock n roll.

That man was a true performer my lord!!! So sad that he is not around anymore and will never ever exist again....
TRUE
Phenomenal performance. The guy oozed rock'n'roll head to toe. Felt its fibre like no other. The last of the great breed of true rock, now finally silenced by death at just 87! But, like Elvis, nothing can really silence Jerry Lee - the music is here forever. Rest in peace Jerry Lee.
He oozed music from head to toe, I personally think his country stuff is better than the rock stuff. Not to mention he was one of the best singers too.
@@da324 My grandmother use to say that also. She would listen to Jerry Lee Country and Gospel, and I would listen to Jerry Lee Rock and Roll. Sometimes we had both going at the same time.
The killer
The original badass of Rock and roll

Very RARE footage of Jerry playing guitar.
He could also play the harmonica too as well.
MAGIC his playing,and performance😮😮😮😮😮.
Hell of a drummer Russell Smith. My grandfather.
Do you know something about him? For example when he was born, when he passed away, why he left Jerry in 1969 and things like that? It will help so much, because internet and the world keep missing these infos.
Thank you so much for your response.
Greetings
Jerry
@@youngjerrylee he never went into much detail, but it was mostly drinking and money. They did not part on the best terms.
@@onesaltyzombie I kinda expected that. But what about birth and death date? All these basic informations. It's unbelievable, that drummer like Russ Smith is SO underrated...
@@youngjerrylee honestly don’t know where he was born, but he died in 02 in Semmes Alabama.
That was Tarp on the drums.
Now this is a concert Wow
My legend love this man .

I first heard his arrangement of Don't Be Cruel in the middle of the Libyan desert 60 years ago. I also heard Chuck Berry play Johnny B Good which inspired me to take up playing guitar. I'm now 80, live in Prague and play in 3 bands. I will play until I drop. Tonight I will be going to a party to jam with friends we will definitely play A Whole Lotta Shakin'.
Long live rock n roll my man. Im 53 and I just respect guys like you that are still rockin along. Your comment made my day. Hope youre doing well man🦯🎸
@@buschovski1 Many thanks. Going to play tomorrow night in a bar under the Charles Bridge. I've also just had book published - Sweating On My Chitty Box By Jack Freeman - you can google it. :)

Absolutely!!!
Yes. 69 to about 1972.
Even when he did someone else's number, he made it a Jerry Lee Lewis song.

Jerry Lee Lewis was born 8 months after ELVIS, 1935. And Jerry's heart continued to beat 53 years after this concert. RIP to the KILLER.
The Colonel was born 26 years before Elvis yet his heart beat 20 years after Elvis. Elvis died too young
Well said! They broke the mold
On 20th century rock and pop!
Elvis didn’t die , he just couldn’t be famous anymore. It was either hide and become unknown or be killed

Lot of great musicians in history. Some people have “IT”. He is one of those people. He is still alive and kicking. Listen to what other musicians say about him.
When you go to his show, you are going to move baby!
Джери Ли играл всем телом и пел душой! Его энергетика притягивает и не отпускает, в нём столько силы и мощи, что всё на его фоне теряется. Как нам его не хватает.
Such a great talent!!!!! May he RIP...Great soul..Will surely be missed...
Epic performance a true moment in rock history captured in all its glory blazing and heartfelt now cyrstlized in our hearts forevermore

It's obvious Jerry Lee and Elvis had mutual respect for one another, with Jerry Lee being invited to Vegas and he doing Elvis' songs!
...both members of the million dollar quartet...
They were both in the same room at the very beginning of it all.
WOW! SUPER J'ADORE.
Amazing! Toronto!

OHHHHHH YES TORONTO ROCKS BIG TIME

Did not know Jerry could a guitar too. Man he’s the shit!!
The killer .....killin it!
Jerry Lee is the greatest that ever was or will be, thanks JLL xxx
I've not seen this performance before-Really good, great playing and Mystery Train with the guitar - Wow
Jerry's eyes tell you he had done so many shows he could do it in his sleep.
Yes, very rare JLL on Guitar with Mysterfy train (without Tiger Man segmento like Elvis sang in Vegas...). Superb ! Thanks for showing it.
For those claiming there are too many Elvis Presley songs (a) Jerry went to see Elvis in Las Vegas days beforehand, so no doubt had Elvis on his mind, (b) He couldn't do the usual Richard/Berry songs as he shared the bill with them, (c) Only 'Don't Be Cruel' and 'Jailhouse Rock' are truly Elvis songs: 'Hound Dog' was by Big Mama Thornton, 'Mystery Train' was by Junior Parker, and Jerry completely rewrote the verses for his version of 'Mean Woman Blues' (something which topped the charts in the UK as the flip-side of 'Great Balls of Fire').
His versions are as good as Elvis and sometimes better.
@@hejla4524 Absolutely, and even when they're not he still makes them his own.
He does them better than elvis in my opinion.... Long live the killer!!!
Thank you Peter
He still could've done more of his own originals, like Breathless.

Bravo Killer. Por siempre Jerry Lee.

Thanks Dennis. Did you notice the part right before Mystery Train where Jerry talks about the personal invitation to see Elvis in Vegas (1969)?

Jerry Jerry Jerry!
Fantastic job Lucio! Glad you used the audio from 'Keep On Rockin'' rather than the later DVD, as the piano is much louder!
Thanks Peter. Always hoped that the original film would come out on dvd for a more 'perfect' edit but not to be. By the way, I used the stereo Hound Dog audio you first pointed out to me on the Lennon dvd of this show.
@@drlucio I forgot about that stereo 'Hound Dog' audio! Glad you remembered, and used it.
HE'S BAD ASS !!!!!
Super
no getting away with it this is the man .
On the John Lennon Sweet Toronto it has a second of extra footage at the end of Hound Dog.
Saw him at the Marion County Fair in Indiana about 1971 or 72. Must have been at least 50 people there. Couldn't figure out why. I remember thinking how short he was as he brushed by me on his way out of the tent he performed in.
3:45 Great song
