- Trout fishing on Cherrybrook, Dartmoor. Waving a fishing rod for six hours during a series of thunderstorms is somewhat of a foolhardy endeavour. But at least the cuckoos and wrens were enjoying themselves…

Great place to fish. I fished Colliford the other day and not only heard but actually saw a cuckoo sitting on a post and then in flight. Made my week.
I think that cuckoo was following me all week!

That's the first time I have ever heard a live cuckoo bird. That was alone worth it. What weight and length of rod are you using in this video? It could just be the camera angle but it looks like a pretty hefty rod.
The rod was a hollow build 8ft Garrison 206. So, surprisingly light for a split cane rod.
Are you still in Devon Robert and if so, will you be fishing some of the other parts of the Dartmoor system? The sky appears quite ominous. Did enjoy your post though
