    I've been binge watching your videos in an effort to have some knowledge to replace the canvas on my popup camper. I'm right down the road in Fort Wayne so if thats a video you'd like to make and need a demo camper I'd be happy to discuss it.

    Thank you so much for making this video. I was struggling with the knot issue below the vinyl and this video came out just in time since I am starting a new enclosure project this week.

    Great Instructional video. I have the LSZ1 machine and spending a lot of time learning. I recently replaced the isinglass roll up window zipper using your instructions. The project turned out well on my 44 foot Island Packet Sailboat. Thanks for tips and video.

    Wonderful information and it couldn’t be more timely as I’m getting ready to replace the windows in my 30 year old Coleman pop top. My Sailrite order should be arriving this week sometime and now I’m ready to go.

    I like your videos and all your info you'r sharing. I am working with sewing boat covers in Sweden. And I prefer to have some canvas between the zipper and the window. Most if the fabricators do the same thing here in the Nordic countries.

    I did this for the 1st time on old hardened glass and I cut the stitching holding the zipper teeth. I've since replaced glass and installed zipper, was much easier to cut.

    Thanks for this informative video. I’d like to install a curved zipper into a screen. I assume the procedure would be the same as with a vinyl window? I’ve never sewn screen material before so I’m a little nervous!

    Excellent video, thanks for sharing. May I ask what is the importance of adding the binding tape, is it just decorative something else?

    A great video, thank you. So neat! I'm curious about whether the basting tape gums up the needle at all?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 3 lety +2

      Basting tapes have a tendency to leave a gum residue on the needle when sewing lighter fabrics, but not so much when sewing heavier fabric assemblies. Heavy fabric assemblies have a tendency to clean then needle as it exits and enters the fabric. Although a well-adjusted machine should not be affected, if it does run the needle through a bar of Ivory soap to help prevent build-up or use a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to keep the needle clean.

    What do you use inside of the weights you have? I have thought about making myself some, but worried about using sand for obvious reasons? Your Video's are awesome by the way!

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 3 měsíci

      We used sand and it has not leaked out for well over 5 years since made and I use them almost daily. Here is the link to make them: czcams.com/video/2h4imUXwrHI/video.html

    Is there an adhesive you'd recommend for clear vinyl to fabric? Wanting to reinforce any sewing, as in not great at sewing.

    Thank you for this helpful video (though to be nitpicky, the demonstrator’s nails could look a little nicer)
