    You guys and your videos got me started years ago doing repairs on personal boat canvas, and these days I am doing it for a living and making good money doing something I love and allowed me to give up the Corp. position. SailRite is a great company for many reasons and these videos and how you treat your customers are nothing less than a Storm Anchor for all of it. Nautical pun intended....

    Отрезать ткань термоножом, получается быстрее и ровнее, если резать вдоль металлической линейки.
    А отверстия под люверсы, лучше не прорубать, а прожигать. Так и ткань становится крепче под люверсом, так как сплавляются волокна и изделие выглядит качественнее, не будут торчать нитки из под люверса.

    thank you - when seaming together a 60" wide piece to a 30" wide piece (over 100" long), how do I do this, as my sewing machine only has about 5" between the needle and the machine itself......I don't think I can cram 30" of sturdy canvas in there....(making a table cover for 102" table.

    I've been working on strips of burlap, making them into long ribbon strips. I can see that over time they are going to fray. I was hoping on finding a simple way to finish them. Since it is burlap perfection isn't if you know what I mean. Any ideas or do I have to use a sew method? Thanks so much.

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 7 lety

      A raw burlap edge will unravel quickly. You will need to make a double hem along the edges and sew that hem in place to keep the fabric from coming apart.

    When you use the tape, does your needle gets the glue from it? ty

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 7 lety +2

      Depending on the weight of the fabric (lighter fabrics do not clear the needle as it enters and exits the fabric) and how long you are sewing through the seamstick the needle can get glue build up. We typically remove it with a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it or goo gone. That typically helps to solve that issue.

    Great video. But theres no such word as "binded." SailRite videos have some of the best videos available on sewing. I've never used their machines but I've heard they're beasts. SailRite makes installing zippers look like child's play.

    where is sailrite made?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  Před 8 lety +1

      +G GEANS The Sailrite Ultrafeed sewing machine is a collaboration between China, Taiwan and the United States (our facility in Indiana). Most parts and sub-assembly is done in China (motors from Taiwan) but all tuning and several critical components are made in the states (Posi-Pin parts, cases, PowerPlus and Monster balance wheels, jack drive and a few internal parts). All manuals and DVD instructions are done in the states as well.We spend about 2 hours on every sewing machine head made - building and testing it here in Indiana before it ships.

    Hello, I'm being trained to make awnings and I noticed my hems look strange, they look kind of twisted, when I first did those they looked fine but now all of them seem to come twisted, could it be the pressure on the presser foot is to tight?
