They need to fix/update Universe mode. I have absolutely no interest in playing GM mode. If they deleted Universe mode and only had GM and MyFaction I would never even consider playing the game
I hate MyF. I hate drudging through that thing to get points. I hate the fact that you have to buy crap. MyF takes out the entrances. That's part of the experience. I barely touch it. I have not touched My GM since I logged in once in 2K22. I don't care about My Rise either. I don't want to play as a generic wrestler I make. I want an original story with superstars the way they did Raw vs SD.
This. My universe mode is all CAW and custom shows. Please do not remove it.
I don't play my faction or gm if there's no universe mode for me to set up my custom ECW vs wcw vs WWF vs extra then there honestly no reason to buy it they don't need to remove it they need to actually fix it and stop neglecting it

yeah but look at the bigger picture here, if current universe mode stays it will never get huge updates. but if they got rid of it temporarily and brought back a new and improved universe mode in 2-3 years, i would much rather have that then having the same one forever.
Even at its worst Universe mode is still the bomb so I don't want that gone. I've never even ventured once into My Faction so I couldn't give two shits if that gets discontinued but My Faction is their version of a mobile game style cash cow so I doubt it would ever stop.

A "Universe" mode is a HUGE reason there is no replayability on AEW Fight Forever, that would be the death of WWE also

For OG Universe players just make it optional to manage contracts and make the rosters and cards reasonable...20 wrestlers per brand is kinda pointless.

If anything they should remove EVERY SINGLE OTHER MODE.

@@user-bz7qg5xw6h I'm just as guilty according to your logic. I enjoy the games but I play universe more than anything simply because of the freedom to do what I want. I hope every year they fix some of the issues but they haven't yet. If 2K25 doesn't fix universe I will not buy it. What we decide to do or not do with our money is of no concern to you. Just let people do what they like until it personally effects you. You arent losing money so what's it matter?
Universe is the main mode I play. Without it I likely wont buy the game

I know of many people (including myself) who play the game for Universe Mode, literally playing nothing else.
Why tho, it's the most barebones, untouched mode every year. I think they could combine it with myGM.

I would say that the Ruthless Aggression Era was the best because we got a bunch of new guys like Cena, Orton, Brock, Batista, Rey etc and they’ve all become main eventers
If they got rid of Universe, I'd be done with the game within 2 weeks.

Killing universe for GM would be awful for me because I just won’t play my GM. I play by myself and I don’t care to sit there and book against the AI with weird roster restrictions

I only play the modes required to unlock items otherwise I have no interest in the modes, especially MyFaction and MyRise.
The only mode I care for is Create a Story but they haven't had that in 10 years.

I really hate the stamina thing in My gm, in every draft there’s always one person with 80 stamina and then everyone else has like 56 or lower and it’s just so annoying

Get rid of GM mode and focus more on Universe Mode that’s all they need to do. Incorporate gm mode features into Universe Mode and use Create a story as a template for Universe mode

Universe just needs to do some very minor things.
1. Promos. Do this for rivalries and heel/face changes.
2. Show intros back.
3. Better Money in the Bank systems (a.i) will rarely cashin.
Yea it’s so lame the lame the shows in universe don’t show the city it’s in or have an intro to Monday Night Raw or Smackdown. I feel like WM2000 on N64 even had that for created shows
I can't understand why i'm the only one in the world who wants some form of record tracking?! Win loss tracking for all wrestlers. Even if it just resets once a year and you ahve to write them all down. Rather than tracking every single match yourself if you like running a universe the RIGHT WAY.

@@jeremy19175 that's why I bring it up for universe mode because they do have it in GM mode and I think it's a great idea. But gm mode is too little freedom if you just wanna make your own roster and shows right off the start and don't want other shows competing. There's a lot of people out there who want this they're just not very outspoken but you can look up Excel sheets people track their universe records on their own because it's not built into the game.
For promos. Just make generic motions and let us put in the dialog! We can style the promos dialog to fit the characters. Like we can have Rock say Look at you now, and Bloodline Rules 50 times.

I can argue that short matches need to return to wrestling. Not every match should drag out to 15 or 20 minutes. Historically the longer matches where for big PPV fights. Plus, shorter matches would get more talent scene.
I always have killer "shorter" matches on Fight Forever vs a really good opponent, the sweet spot being around 7 to 8 mins of all out intensity.
2k should remove My Faction. They already have DLC, why are they so greedy?

Universe mode is the only mode I play. Feels like you were payed to slag it off. I can't imagine ever wanting to play my GM mode. Budgeting feels like annoying homework.

They need to remove my faction and showcase. There unoriginal and no one cares for the modes. If anything Universe mode and My gm should be expanded.

I disagree since I play universe mode more than I play GM mode + I prefer the former since you have more freedom where as GM mode, you're only limited.
I create an entirely new company with its own arenas, ppvs, and a roster of about 40 created wrestlers. I hope they never remove universe mode, as it will ruin the whole reason I buy this game.
You're completely out of touch with the average wrestling game fan. Nearly everyone who plays WWE games plays them for Universe mode. Add to that AEW Fight Forever failed because it did not have a Universe mode. WWE My faction mode is essentially a greedy mobile game, and that alone makes it a bad game mode. Remove Micro transactions. The only wrestling game that can be good without a Universe mode is MD's Wrestling Empire, and that's thanks to it's Free Roam Career mode. Something that modern AAA video game developers like 2K would likely never even attempt nowadays. But even then, universe mode needs to stay in these games, and My Faction mode needs to be completely removed. Most of us would not even consider buying a WWE game that did not have Universe mode. Especially when you take into consideration that modern video games are severely overpriced.
I don’t think I’m out of touch but that’s ok. I just think if they merged 2 modes together maybe something modern and new can come from it. For me like I said universe hasn’t updated much in many years. Something needs to be done to update it
10:40- My daughter was the “main reason” why I started watching WWE and wrestling in general!!! One night while she was over at my house she was playing in my room and I was flipping through the options to watch on Peacock! And out of nowhere my daughter said “I want to watch that!” I had to go back a few options but she finally said “yeah, that one” when I landed on a PPV event that just happened….. and I explained to her what it was but she still wanted to watch it…. Skipping over a lot, I started getting back into it and she lose interest shortly after!!!

10:05 - I used to Royal Rumble to get my 3 little sisters into wrestling this year (ages 5-10), we’ve went to Wrestlemania 35 due to my make a wish but they were too young to process the show, but during the Royal Rumble they got really behind Cody Rhodes as I was getting behind CM Punk (I’ve been a fan of punk since 08) the chants is what I noticed they engaged with most, yes that includes the 10 count every 2 minutes 😂, but since the rumble they’ve been behind Cody and want to see him at Wrestlemania, my youngest sister has really gotten behind The Undertaker I’ve been showing her the streak matches and now tries he eye roll with his tongue hanging out
i don’t want to control the budget i don’t want to do all the extra stuff that comes with gm mode it’s annoying why not combine faction and gm mode
If WWE 2K takes out Universe mode, then the replay value of the game goes way down. GM mode doesn’t have the same feeling/freedom that universe mode has.

Well this isn't true, 2k20 was terrible and unplayable and didn't have my faction. I hate my faction but can't blame the mode for the problems with the game.
They don't refresh universe mode because they rather refresh their money making mode my faction. I bet pretty soon they are going to remove everything and just keep my faction.

If universe mode goes, it's not a bluff, I'm done. I don't enjoy showcase that much and I've touched gm mode about 5 minutes for 3 years. I didn't like it in 2007 and I don't like it now, it's too restricting and doesn't reflect how an actual wwe tv product is.
I wish they put a lot more effort on Universe mode this year.

Overhaul Universe mode so it's not buggy. Several games with it not fixed is inexcusable. More depth to GM mode and more options in the mode would also be great.

Then we had what I call the Revolution era. Was a major uplift in Women's wrestling.
The attitude era was peak sports entertainment but not much good in the way of actual wrestling. Most of the time was taken up by promos and vignettes.

2K is all about money grabs. My faction, DLC, pretty soon they're going to make us start paying for additional showcase matches in the future one day. And pay for intro music and entrances and things like that! It's all about money, and not the fans!

Attitude had the best of everything. Characters, story’s, wrestling, moments, promos, commentary.. but ruthless had the absolute best wrestling.

Regarding the universe mode thing. I think it's a vital part of the game and it's been a feature for as long as I can remember. Over the last few years though it's been heavily neglected to the point where it's held together by tape and spaghetti code.
What needs to happen in 2k25 is that Universe Mode gets a special treatment, it's the ultimate sandbox for people like me who enjoy planning out storylines and matches like WWE does IRL. Getting rid of it would probably turn people like me off buying the next game.
What Universe Mode really needs though is a lot more content for people like us to tell stories using this gamemode, give us promos and segments back into the show. Allow us to have more rivalry options to have a 3-way feud, 4-way feuds and Stable v Stable feuds but the most it needs is to feel refreshed and revitalized but promos alone isn't going to cut it and it will take a few games to really get Universe Mode to the point it needs to be.

I think they should just put all resources to universe mode and remove mygm, showcase, and undisputed unleashed because those modes are sucking up resources and hurting the development of universe mode.

GM Mode has quite a few hurdles before it can even think about replacing Universe Mode.
There is no Multi Man Matches the limit is 4 competitors. No Rumbles, No Elimination Chamber, No 6 man MITB or 6 man HIAC, no WarGames, No Gauntlet.
No custom championships.
No create a show. By that I mean you can't create a PLE.
No rivalries.
I've been doing a lot of playing as Ken Shamrock since it's the first wrestling game he's been in since SmackDown! on the OG PlayStation. I think I've played as him as much as I did Kurt Angle in WWE 2K18.
Bruno Sammartino, Roman Reigns and The Rock are the only ones who consistently beat me in Universe Mode.
I've also been enjoying MyRise mode. I haven't played Undisputed yet, by Unleashed is awesome AF. Her story has definitely taken directions i didn't anticipate. I also like how the order you do storylines affects the in game dialogue. I did the Supernatural thing first and when I was doing my Hollywood Arc, I had people keep asking if I was still Evil.
I thought the last game Ken was in was 2K16, for the Stone Cold showcase.

Ngl I really hope this year’s game will be the last game for PS4 and Xbox One hardware because I feel like if 2K really wants to give what fans what, they might have to upgrade to better hardware. Considering how that 2K also said that they were planning on adding more content + the spread out DLCs, this could be the case.
Things I'd like to see in 2K25 - 1 - every superstar to have custom sideplates instead of a large number having the default logo.
2 - Universe mode calendar updated from the default 28 days per month to a more realistic calendar & PLE's available for both Sat & Sun so we can finally do a 2 night WM.
Wait a large number all of them have the wwe logo as side plates even if you assign them to the superstar.
With the Wrestlemania situation I just set it to 14 matches. lol.
But I can see your point. It annoys me too. Because I want to do Stand and Deliver on the Saturday and Wrestlemania on the Sunday.
I'd definitely go with Hollywood Hogan as the most influential heel in regards to wrestling history. I pretty much agree with all the reasons Assemble gives, but I would throw one more possibly even bigger reason in there... Without Hollywood Hogan, and the full NWO... WCW would have gone out of business AT LEAST 2 years earlier.

Remove showcase mode. I run a fantasy wrestling promotion and all the bugs, glitches and work I have to do behind the scenes on top of the writing, the segments, the booking with talent and then having to go unlocked things just for attire changes for the talent on my roster is beyond annoying. Just give me that stuff up front and add back promos and more options for those of us that have the creativity to do what I do.
when there were promos, i remember them being lame and not fun. would only care about seeing them back if it's a complete revamp.

One Heel I don't hear a lot talk about that I always find impressive is Raven. He was able to draw heat in ECW, a place that loved their heels as much as their faces. I feel that took some spectacular work to accomplish on his part.
They need to revamp Universe Mode. Add intros, choices that impact the game, backstage interactions, random alliances forming around you based on your actions. This mode could be absolutely legendary
DO NOT remove universe! Make it better. I don’t want to play an updated GM/Universe where I need to have a strange roster with humberto as my world champ because he’s a bruiser, worry about contracts during a feud etc we just need a universe mode with truly open story options so promos (can be pre made scenes), draft, story creators and the small quality of life things like a draft addition and injury returns etc like they used to in wwe 12
I hope they fix the issue where if created wrestlers are in the royal rumble and are assigned anywhere between entrant numbers 3 and 30, if you select their 2nd attire they still come out in their 1st attire and if you've changed their entrance theme, it changes to something else when they come into the rumble.
They really should bring back season mode like they had in the older games
23:00 could that be what 2K needed for them to adjust for Universe or GM Mode? Cause the game usually represents TV presentations. But we haven't gotten that much in recent years, outside of some stuff from MyRise.

If they removed universe mode a lot of people would move away from the franchise. Its already bad enough they do not have a season mode which i do not understand. My rise doesn't take the place of that. The only thing close to a story mode is the universe and taking that away would be detrimental for the franchise.
How about fixing univers mode. Add in promos, more cut scenes. And make it interactive like road to WrestleMania. Also add back season mode please

I like the idea of Universe mode, having a ready-made card to play, BUT the rivalry system isn’t all it could be without being redundant & it’s still really buggy. There’s a big problem where you go to edit and save the card, but then you end up with several repeat matches featuring the same stars on the show you just worked on. So, I just play the cards as is. I need to go in and adjust the match tables to get a bigger variety of match types.
Has anyone realised, that when titles fold at the side plates, that if they were to fold like that in real life, that they would actually bend the metal side plates? (Go and do a title match and you’ll see what I mean)
Universe mode needs voice overs and cut scenes and much much more. It's too plain Jane. And it irritates me that they never make it better because I want to play it but then I don't wanna get bored with it. The only mode I really play is Mycareer right now because even my faction is too much of a grind.
I wouldn't buy a wwe 2k game without Universes mode. I'm not interested in GM mode and have never been, and since it first appeared in the 2000s, i never played it.

Feature I hate the most so far is in MyRise if you edit your attire it sets your Victory motion back to a default. Mine keeps going to Kane, other ppl have different results.
What they really need to add is a way of giving us the ability to change the default cage & cell options without having to make custom matches to do so

Some ppl had the GM aspect and enjoy just the sandbox universe. That's their bread n butter

Universe Mode is the only one I play, if that were to go, there would be no reason for me to continue playing. I like storylines. It's the reason I haven't touched other wrestling games without a mode like Universe Mode. No replay value. I've played GM Mode, but there's no freedom in that, you would have to put matches you don't care about together based on their class and shit, that's not fun.
The House show arena and ECW don’t even work in universe mode. Surley they could fix them ?
I kno you can do superstar mode ready in universe but season mode was so much fun. You can play it as any wwe star or caw and certain unique wrestlers had they own storyline everybody else’s was usually similar. You can actually control yo decisions on being heel or face too with hella cutscenes.
By the way there’s been modern rock lessnars running around community creations

-When start to have the option to pick an already universe based in real life or a clean universe that you can manage whatever you want
-the roster, same to have the option of a default roster or to upload a roster that you already have(it happened to me I created a bunch of tag teams in the options menu, when i start MyU none of those teams were there so i’ll need to redo it, and will have to re do it after the dlcs) too much work
-Option for a draft
-Trades
-PLEs saturdays and sundays, cool to have an option
-At least 200 slots for creations
-include promos
-Attires should not be an additional character slot, allow one character to have at least 3 or 4 different attires, and the option to easy swap before match

2K should combined Universe and GM with Management/Sandbox toggles to determine if you just wanna play with things automated or as a management sim.
