There is aqn Artic Circle of highway 101 in Newport Oregon
I will check that out next time I visit the coast. I love the drive from Coos Bay to Lincoln City. Thanks for watching
Loved Arctic Circle, growin'up in se Utah,we'd go to much closer Junction, CO than make the trip up north to SLC and I had always thought it was just ketchup and mayo. Buttermilk, currently I'm in Mexico, and there is no buttermilk here, but there's a sour cream, like flavorless yoghurt, would that sub buttermilk o.k.?👍😋
That is a great substitute, just be careful with the amount you use for consistancy, use some milk to thin out the sour cream. Hope you enjoy
First time I've heard of buttermilk in fry sauce. Interesting.
It's so good!
You almost got it right. Its half Best Foods mayo, Half Catchup , Less than a Quarter buttermilk, and the real secret. Add Smoked Paprika and onion powder and you have it spot on. I like to add just a tiny bit of Liquid smoke, Like 6 drops. Remember the little red specks in the sauce back then... It was the smoked Paprika. Good job and best wishes!
That liquid smoke is what makes it. Great tip. Thanks for stopping by
Wow this looks amazing. I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with delicious food like this 😋
Thank you! You too!
I like your sauce very much. Thank you chef John 👍
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching
thanks
You're welcome!
I found your channel today and loved Artic Circle! I now live in Salem, Oregon and I was so sad when they closed our only location and tore it down. Super awesome recipe! I always wanted the recipe for the special mayonaise sauce they used on their burgers! Between that burger sauce and their fry sauce, it was the best place to get a burger and fries!
Awesome, thanks for watching and Happy Easter
Wow looks so yummy
I will try
Hope you enjoy
I love this :>
Thanks for watching
Delicious.
Thank you for sharing. New friend 😊👍
Thanks and welcome
Being a UT resident (again). I can say fry sauce is a big deal here. I honestly love the stuff! Thanks for sharing chef!
Thanks for watching Jason!
I live in Utah, as well. Washington; a "suburb" of St. George.
"Interpretations" of "fry sauce" are everywhere around here. So many, I have no real clue as to what the stuff should taste like.
Arctic Circle claims to be the original and I know what their sauce tastes like. But I'm intrigued and will try this recipe out.
Rob Buell very cool. I live in Farr West (near Ogden).
Oh I am so making this Article Sauce tomorrow. I can only imagine how good it taste with French fries. Thanks brother for always sharing your super delicious recipes. Be Blessed and Stay Safe🙏🏾😷Sis J
It is so simple to make and is perfect for french fries, maybe even grilled chicken. Hope you enjoy sis. Stay safe..love from Minnesota!
I grew up in Klamath Falls....a visit to Arctic Circle once a week was mandatory..!!!
Awesome, we used to stop there after skiing in Ashland and have pizza, don't remember where (maybe Abby's)but it was good pizza. Have a great day and thanks for watching.
I also grew up in Oregon and had an Arctic Circle in our small town. It came out that they were getting 11 hamburger patties per pound of beef, the rest was fillers, but I loved them. Loved the sauce too.
Thanks for watching! have a great week!
A friend of mine worked at Arctic Circle around '68. The white sauce was 1 part real cultured buttermilk, and 3 parts stiff (commercial) mayo. Good stuff.
It is incredible sauce. Thanks for watching
Artic Circle? I thought it was an eskimo specialty! OKay, now I get it. Nice sauce,Chef! Thanks for sharing, and you all stay safe!
You bet! You stay safe as well!
CHEF could you show how to make taco bells creamy jalapeno sauce?
will do, didn't know they made that
@@ChefJohnPolitteItsOnlyFood Thank you! yes its the sauce they use for their quesadillas
Delicious Arctic Circle Fry Sauce! Thanks for watching!
Hello Chef. How much teaspoon lemon and milk to make 2 table spoon of buttermilk substitute :) . We dont have buttermilk
You can do 1 Tablespoon 2 teaspoons milk + 1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice. Great question, thanks for watching!
The white sauce is buttermilk and Mayonnaise.. yummm
Thanks for watching
At the arctic circle my mom worked at they only used mayo and ketchup
Could have been an independent franchise
Did u go to roseburg high school?
Yes, way back in the day..lol
Do you have the recipe for DQ (later was Town and Country) white sauce that they put on their fry’s from the 60’s also from Idaho? Also thanks for this recipe it’s a keeper making the next time I make fry’s. Best sauce around.
You mean the white gravy they put on their fries? I found an Idaho fry sauce how about that?
@@ChefJohnPolitteItsOnlyFood I wouldn’t call it a gravy, it was a dipping sauce the same idea as the Arctic Circle’s. I’m happy enough with the sauce from AC. I worked at the AC when I was in high school each time I get back to Twin Falls I still eat there. Thanks again.
I usually to keep buttermilk in the fridge, it really is a handy ingredient. Hubby even drinks it with a dash of salt, pepper, and a dash of hot sauce! 😬
I used to do the same thing back in the day when I liked my alcohol..Seemed to coat the stomach, and hot sauce is good for everything. I appreciate you watching!
Finally someone said it- fries need *sauce.*
Indeed. Love the Evil Spock icon!!
How about creating some gourmet recipes using 'Boars Night Out White Lightning Double Garlic Butter' seasoning? Could one add it to a saucepan containing heavy cream and a bit of white wine to make a thick and creamy reduction sauce to pour over swordfish, shrimp, chicken, or pasta?
Thanks for watching. I do have my own blend of butter garlic seasoning, I have done recipes on this channel using it. I appreciate the idea, I may have to look into doing a video on a derivative Bechamel sauce with my own seasoning. Have a great week!
@@ChefJohnPolitteItsOnlyFood Thanks for replying! I was thinking more along the lines of a Beurre Blanc French butter sauce using 'Boars Night Out White Lightning Double Garlic Butter' seasoning. Would you be able to list the recipes on your channel that use this specific seasoning?
If I were to do this sauce I would use my own butter seasoning, I don't see the point of promoting someone else's product when I have my own...I appreciate the idea but I will pass on it at this time.
@@ChefJohnPolitteItsOnlyFood I think you misunderstood ... my goal is to buy and use YOUR product to make a Beurre Blanc French butter sauce.
Gotchya! I will add this to my list of shows to create...Thanks!
Close. But it has a couple drops of lemon juice also and a drop of mustard
Sounds good. Thanks for watching
Receive your hands, God bless you, may God bless you with success. Communication lasts. I hope you will honor me with sincerity
Thank you, I will
It's literally Ketchup and Mayonnaise. I worked for Artic Circle back in the day.
Thanks for stopping by!
Just discovered your channel, and I really like it. Great info from a professional chef, ,delivered in a concise manner. You may not be as good looking as Chef John from Food Wishes, but at least you don’t have that annoying voice.
Thanks for watching, and for the great analysis. Mom always said I had the perfect face for radio
Could even use ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise with a little pickle juice. So many different ways to make fry sauce. 😂
True!! The possibilities are endless. Thanks for watching!
