Bregman 3 is fine, only if Tucker and Alvarez are right behind him. They get 2 or 3 chances for one or several hitters to get on base for the rbi producers. The way it is now with Tucker hitting 2nd, you only get one chance with Altuve. Altuve and Pena have high OBPs. Bregman, even when he doesn't hit, can usually also get on base. Plus Alvarez and both Tucker in the middle at 3 and 4, or even 3 and 5, balances the lineup a lot better. There's a reason why they moved Alvarez out of the 2 spot. Why would that reason be any different for Tucker?
I will now push the panic button (06/01/24) as the Astros offense is terrible only slim reason they still have a chance is they are in a weak division. As of today they are 25-33 and the offense went on vacation .
I wouldn’t say panic yet, but I will say this season is basically over. They need to start planning for 2025, because there is little chance of coming back in 2024. Only a couple years left before they have to blow the whole thing up
Hell yeah, it's time to hit the panic button !!!! Letting go of Click & Dusty was a huge mistake. Espada is not connecting with the players. That and the bull pen has been horrendous 😖😖😖
Letting go of Click was the mistake. Dusty needed to go. It was Click's decisions that helped the Astros win the WS in 22. When you look at the difference in lineups between 22 and when Click left, you realize how much Click and Dusty didn't agree on. Click traded Myles Straw in 21 because Dusty wasn't giving McCormick enough playing time. It was McCormick who started every single postseason game in 2022 because Click fought for that. Click traded for another STARTING catcher for the 22 postseason. He traded for Christian Vasquez and DID NOT allow Maldonado to start every game that postseason. Click also fought for Peña to hit in the #2 spot in that postseason where he won ALCS/WS MVP. Dusty disagreed with Click on that decision, but Click overrode Dusty and Peña hit where Click wanted him to hit. You heard Jeremy Booth saying that Peña hasn't hit there since 22. That's because Click didn't come back after 22. Just look at the difference between what Click did and what Baker did last season and it's very easy to notice where they disagreed. The Astros won that championship because they had historical pitching and because Click did not allow Dusty to throw the season away
I hit it when they continued to try and force Abreu out of his slump....that slumped the team. Zero hope

Are you ready to sign Trevor bauer yet? He'd give you a chance!
