The game tells you right at the start that you have 1 year. Technically MC held on for an extra month, but we always knew this was coming.
The Great Seal costs 100% of your hp but the MC held on with sheer will till the graduation to keep his promise.

1:22:15 A detail i love is that great seal cost all your HP to use. From the moment you cast it you know it's going to be a sacrifice.
It's a shame a lot of people cast it without noticing, though. I wonder how many people never find out
@@GunNlazorwhen I played P3P for the first time, i realized this since the game let you open the skill menu and see the cost of great seal from the beginning. So each round I wondered when I would get enough HP to cast it. Then, when I was fully healed I realized that it cost my full HP…
I think in Reload since you only see the skill menu once you get the full heal, most people get excited to press great seal so they don’t see it.

I'm guessing the unknown sender is probably Ryoji. Makoto looked at the music box Ryoji gave him right before he got the text. And if you go up to the music room before that, he mentions how he remembers a melody being played there once and how it's going to be with him forever. And I honestly think that's really sweet. When Pharos disappeared on 11/4, he remembered his purpose and should've left to bring ruin to the world. But he came back because he wanted to see Makoto again. He defied his fate for the person he cared about. Now, when Makoto makes the ultimate sacrifice, he should be gone. But he also returns to say farewell to those he cares about. Saying goodbye to the people you love caused Ryoji and Pixel to defy the fate set before them. Even if only for a little while. This was an amazing game. And an amazing remake. Love the Persona series so much.

It's sad to say goodbye... But the friends you made will never forget us for who we were and the time we spent with them.
They really went all out on the deaths in this game. The POV shot with him closing his eyes was amazing. In a way, the trade off for cutscene quality was almost worth it there.
Eh, the cutscenes and art style changes are fine. They don't take away nearly as much as some people try to make it sound.
This is coming from someone who only got into Persona BECAUSE of the first few hours of the OG P3, by the way. So trust me, if anyone understands where those people are coming from, it'd be me. That doesn't mean I'm not gonna call them on their bullshit when they're being dumbasses tho. 😂

Not many endings have hit me this hard in media. Even when I rewatch it I always get emotional and get close to tears. What an amazing game ❤
Interesting fact about Nyx (assuming this is still treated as canon, since it's only ever been brought up in a book called I think the Persona 3 Club) but Nyx is an outlier to other godlike entities in Persona in that she is not actually born of the human collective unconscious. Instead, in falling into the Evangelion inspiration she is a celestial being that had crashed down into earth. Her body split into two, physical and mental, with the physical supposedly becoming the moon and the mind linking up with and evolving the creatures of Earth, forming the collective unconscious which then seemingly sealed it away as fragments called shadows (Effectively the 'fruit of knowledge' humanity attained).
The destruction Nyx would have wrought would be in the form of tearing those shadows from the bodies of the populace, the proximity of its flesh forcefully pulling the fragments of itself rooted into the collective unconscious it created in humanity. I think this is somewhat hinted at early on where we saw cases of the black substance that flowed/was torn out of people's heads who lacked the capacity to defend themselves through personas, as well as the literal end of Evangelion shenanigans happening here. I'm not too knowledgeable on other factors but can't say as to whether the shadows which are canonically aspects of Nyx found in 3 are the same Shadows seen in other games though.
Interestingly, Nyx is not described as malevolent or wanting to kill humanity. Ironically, as displayed here through the sorrowful words of Ryoji/The Avatar Nyx itself did not want humanity to die but is in fact a slave to the wishes of the masses and their negative, deep-rooted emotions. This has traceable similarities to the entities of the other games, except that they are wholly born from human emotion and in many cases come to intentionally abuse the weakness of humanity represented in what created them, deliberately trying to stagnate or kill off their very creators.
Peak game. My first way of experiencing p3 but imo, it's a 10/10. It's also the first game to genuinely make me cry multiple times.
Same, I started with Reload and it became my favorite Persona game.

Makoto didn't receive the world arcana, but the *Universe* . Thats why Igor is so excited, no one ever got it except Shoto
Technically speaking, they're the same thing. However, the fact that it's still translated as the Universe here in Reload and not changed to the World tells you that, at least in the Persona series, there IS a marked difference between the two.

In P1 and P2 games there personas of the world arcan but in P3 Igor said he never dreamed of seeing that card which is the universe arcana

I've played Persona 3 Reload after losing my Uncle unexpectedly last month. I knew nothing about the game, I only bought the game because I really enjoyed Persona 5. This game has made me care about these characters so much that it not only brought me severe worry about these characters safety, but it made me weep so much. This game has helped me mourn the loss of my Uncle, and it is now one of my favorite games of all time. It actually might be my new favorite game of all time the more I think about it. I miss you everyday, Uncle.

P3 final broke me! 😢 What a beautiful masterpiece! My favorite scene in the final is actually a scene after Nyx defeat when we talk to Akinari's mother! 🥲😭💔 God bless her beautiful kind heart! 🙏🏻❤️

Also Makoto went from being apathetic, detached to life to saving the world and keeping the promise they made despite he was suffering. The Great Seal used all of his HP but his sheer willpower made him last until graduation day. According to the words of Igor, he is the MOST remarkable guest.
Eventhough P5 has all the budget, flashy animation and is arguably the most popular of the franchise, P3 will always have a special place in people's hearts ❤ The shock of losing a friend, the profound theme and this unforgettable bittersweet ending is simply on a league of its own. Theres a reason why almost 20yrs later fans still holds P3 in such high regard.
Honestly after playing reloaded, I think I enjoy it more than P5. Both are great games but P3 made me Care about the characters

Well, would you look at that? Atlus makes more emotional deaths than Square Enix, even with the MC.
That was a great adventure to re-experience. I'm looking forward to the Answer dlc and hoping we get to watch you play that too. I'm still sad that FemC never made it to the game to become the ultimate P3 edition, but that's just how life goes I guess.
This is EASILY the best Persona game in my opinion, for a multitude of reasons. 4 and 5 are fantastic, but the story and characters in 3 are just unmatched. Still need to finish Innocent Sin, and while I like it so far, it also doesn’t come close.
I was a die hard FES fan, and while I still am…Reload just blew it out of the water for me. I’m so excited to see how Reload handles The Answer.

P3 had the best ending.
P4 and 5 caps it off with a somewhat expected "Everybody lives happily ever after"
But P3 gave the melancholic yet perfect ending to the theme of the game.
i played p3 reload for the first time, it has the better ending, but storywise is persona 5 royal waaaay better for me then 3 and 4.
I hope he gets to play Persona 4 arena after The Answer. Seeing the gang all grown up and meet the persona 4 cast is such a perfect conclusion to persona 3 imo.
The s.e.e.s. have become the embodiment of every persona game to me. I always look forward to seeing that legendary team in every release of this franchise

Honestly, having finally played Persona 3, I realised why Makoto is such a beloved protagonist. The further into the story you go the more you realise just how much he cares for his friends and how they changed him. The Reload version of Burn My Dread is really personal to Makoto, it perfectly characterises him. "I'm ready to seize the day, 'cause I know in your hearts there's a spot for me, believing in me gave me possibilities, it's more like a gift that I don't deserve, so I gotta give it back to you by all means". The whole song is incredible
It's also interesting for me to finally think about the trilogy as a whole, since I started with P5 and had no idea how much it deviated from the constants, especially in regards to the Velvet Room, with a butterfly now being actually a Velvet Room Attendant for the first time, and all that stuff. I heard a lot of discussions about P6 based on P4 Arena, The Answer and etc. and those are honestly really interesting to think about. I highly doubt Atlus will risk making P6 heavily connected in its story with the previous three games, but, if P4 remake comes out before P6, I think it is possible. With what I have seen from P4 Arena, the idea of other Persona crews being involved with one another is EXCITING. Like, come on, Phantom Thieves made such a show in Tokyo of all places, I want to see how it can play into the potential grand finale that some people hope P6 is going to be (not for the series probably, but for P3-P6)
Such a journey has come to an end... With all the pain and emotions it brought to us.

Toriumi's and Akinari's epilogues are my favourite. First one perfectly depicting the attitude of Maya and how unstable she is, second one is just heartbreaking

I absolutely adore this ending. I genuinely believe it may be the best ending I've ever seen in... Really anything. That's just how... Impactful it is to me, I guess would be the word for it.
The last couple of days in P3 always leaves me crying. Only a handful of games ever managed to do that.

You should check out the bad ending. It's hard to watch, but in a subtle way and adds so much meaning to the good ending. Edit: Well I guess you did!
There are some phenomenal soundtracks out there, but Persona 3 is the only one with Kimi no Kioku
The original Nyx fight is one of my favs. Sucks they didn’t do it justice in reload but I’ve been trying out mods like Momento Mori and the improved AI tactics.
If the expansion pass was an improved game difficulty mode and the AI tactics, I’d pay the $30.
Yeah, that was one of my only complaints with Reload. I originally played FES, and Nyx kicked my damn teeth in haha. I fought her for like an hour, then she inflicted Yukari with charm, who then healed Nyx to full. Then Nyx murdered me, and I had to do the whole fight over 🙃
But in Reload I BULLIED her lol

I hope you can see why a lot of people consider Persona 3 to be the best in the series. Even when I only had the F.E.S. version on the PS2, this game was absolutely peak.

There is no plot armor, that is what missing from modern writings, this is why so many people liked the game.. MC has no plot armor
P3's boy never really die.... in persona story, he use all his power to seel nyx, his body was die, but his mind still fighting with nyx... and elizabeth still keep trying to save that boy---- elizabeth can beat nyx when she has some tea time... only problem is nyx can't be killed.. this part also in the P4 game. so, um... when the persona story really came to an end, this boy will come again.. maybe 10-20years later? -_-
Technically Nyx is not in itself the problem. The same novel that clarifies Nyx isnt a collective unconscious being like the others also points out she's connected to its inception and is therefore a slave to it, as it bears no ill will towards humanity. It's ultimately the deep-rooted thoughts on humanity that's the problem, similar to how pre P3 Nyarlethotep is an unkillable force that persists so long as humanity cannot change (the major difference being that Nyar IS intentionally malignant, unlike Nyx, and is not an outside force like Nyx).
I think the ultimate final game of persona is all of the wild card users coming together to fight the inevitable and at the end we will see Makoto leaving the world in front of his friends and wild card comrades
We've all leaned on this cope ever since playing the original, but I'm pretty sure Elizabeth wants to release him from his burden, not bring him back to life
I will be revisiting Persona 3 Portable and not touch this abomination called P3R since the changed the voice actor and the soundtrack and not the original one from P3P.
