Repair side by side fridge where freezer is cold but not fridge

Shows how i discovered that my side by side was missing an important piece of plastic and how i constructed a functional replacement piece out of ABS plastic. NOTE: I am so unhappy. Just discovered this piece installed in my freezer is crumbling. Apparently it can't handle the cold temps. I am now searching for different plastic that can handle very cold temps or even thinking about wood. One good thing I did prove out the concept as far as the piece I made worked for a couple months. I put a temporary fix which is just a piece of cardboard covering the area. As I think about it, the cold specifications for ABS are probably okay until you heat it. The place where it broke is where I heated it for bending.
