I just saw a short video of a young person learning this skill on a mushroom shape, bit unfair for the divers to go straight to the pommel. I did enjoy watching this though and like a lot of sports people they could learn multiple skills but honestly in on their best one
I think the problem for the brown hair girl might be that she was really close to the edge and couldn't bring her whole body up, but her jumps were good. The blonde one did well and didn't give up 👏🏽
When I first tried gymnastics we had mushroom toad stools to practice (I was extremely young tho and a girl idk if that changes things I haven’t done gym in years)

BTDT: When I was 17 I started the diving club in my home town, 4 years later I joined the gymnastics team at the university. (The gym team was to get relevant winter training for my rock climbing passion, back in 1982 there were no indoor gyms.) BTW, the pommel horse rotations are HARD!
can the pommel horse be set lower? if so i feel like cranking it down just an inch or two would make it much easier for them! the girl in black has a lot more difficulty getting her legs up than her friend in red
