Lyrics:
Everytime you cry I cry just a little bit
-cry just a little bit
When you say goodbye, I die just a little bit
-cry just a little bit more - Hudba
So sad he passed away but now he,s playing his music in heaven, God let him rest in peace
The harmonics in this band are criminally underrated.
I just heard the sad news that Tony Lewis passed away. Condolences to his wife and family. Thanks for the music. One of my favorite 1980s groups.
Igualmente descanse en paz Tony 😟
Tony Lewis will be greatly missed as we say our final Farwell to another great Artist of the 80's
Yes rip 😔😔😔😔

I, myself just seen his passing on those we've lost in 2020. He was just in the states this past yr. I wish I could've seen/ heard him in concert. With J. Spinks creative writing skills and T. Lewis unique Awesome voice! They've created a cool sound to always wanna keep listening to and never grow tired of! They will always be apart of my 80's jam tunes that I go to! RIP Tony Lewis and John Spinks. 🕯✝️❤🎶
One of the best songs of the '80's. This entire album was amazing.
Hi I Recommend a song Called 'The bond Villain' By Robert Nix
yes, all of Play Deep was epic, and Banging was great too
One of Thee Best Bands of The 80's!!!
Great to get stoned to ,,,,
I played this album into the ground when I was in the Army. Agreed, one of the best overall albums of all time.
The Outfield are so underrated, it's ridiculous. Next time someone calls them one hit wonders, show them this masterpiece.
Long live The Outfield!
RIP John Spinks
Totally agree. Always known for "Your Love" but they had so many good songs and albums. Wish they would have had more success.
RIP Tony Lewis😥
The Outfield were not one hit wonders. They had FIVE Top 40 hits between 1986-1990. Their last big hit was "For You" (#21) in 1990.
And tony Lewis
Now Tony joins John.
One of the most underrated bands of the 80’s, Tony Lewis will always be remembered as one that era’s best lead vocalists. Rest In Peace Tony Lewis
I agree. He was amazing. I'm listening to their music over and over.
:(
You're underrated. Lol. Hilarious I can find this comment on every damn band video.
💔
This band was definitely not underrated. Play Deep went a long way.
💯 % correct A++
This song makes me happy and sad all in the same time. There aren’t many that can evoke such raw emotion. We really had some amazing bands in the 80’s, didn’t we?
Yup, I loved them so much, myt ENGLAND boys, they got me t..h..r..u... my stupid life...
Yes, we did.
I'm sure I Still have their Cassette around here somewhere. Amazing!!
This song still gets me in the feels…RIP Tony & John.
Alan Jackman is a powerhouse drummer! He totally made the Outfield amazing! Plus the vocals of Tony and John! One of a kind! The 80’s were so magical because of them 💖
Hi I Recommend a song Called 'The bond Villain' By Robert Nix
This dude’s voice is one of a kind. 👍🏼👍🏼 It definitely belongs on the radio !
R.I.P TL🙏🏽
This singerTony Lewis is Tenor #1 High! I grew up with song in the 80s and I’m in my church choir and there’s 60 of us I sing this style. I’m one of six, high Tenor 1, the rest are bases. That level for men is truly
unique. Song never gets old
This song is more than 30 years old, and it still sounds great. The music of The Outfield is timeless.
Totalmente de acuerdo 😊❤.
GREAT SONG❤
It will always sound great 👍
Wow that just made me feel old. "More than 30 years" best bad ever!
Goodbye Tony...your songs will always linger in our hearts...
One of the most underrated power ballads of the 80s👌
I'm so saddened today. Rest peacefully, Mr. Lewis...
So happy I grew up in this generation... One of my favorite bands I could listen to this album over and over. I say this with a heavy heart as im bedridden and fighting for my life. I pray I don't die but I also am so tired of suffering from this horrific disease I have.. So if you are healthy never take a minute for granted...
Angie Clark are you ok? Sorry for you being sick
Angie, I hope you're ok.
God bless you.
Stay strong 💪💫🤘
Hope u r still with us. Just entered the same fight myself. Music keeps me strong!
is it just me, or does Tony Lewis have one of the most cool and unique voices one's ever heard??
It’s just you.
Its just you buddy
No I agree. Strangely listening to it it feels forced if that makes sense? Yet it's smooth as butter
Yes great voice
Dude... you're right. His voice is just a little different and yes I would call it unique. Very talented little guy.
I took a lot of crap in the eighties for loving this band! Still one of my fav's of all time! I've never had any shame loving them! I know good music when I hear it!
worth it, they're highly underrated. i'm still a closet fan.
+God HaHa! Peace My friend! The Boys of summer are gone but you can still love them!
Peace Duff! So glad you like them! Fairly sure that they'd be pleased too! HA! Peace my friend
+Del Shoemaker It's all good. :-)
I agree....I prefer anything of the 80s over what they call music today
Here in late 2023. This still brings shivers. What an amazing song. Simply amazing
Rest in peace Tony! So sad! Part of my life gone! Thank god for the music!
R.I.P. Tony. Now I will listen to your song EVERYTIME I CRY.
RIP 😔😔😔

Dude i didnt een live thru the 80s but i love this man.
Im not the one... ever :(
I love this guy the vocalist of the outfield...rest in peace...ilove all your songs...both bandmates...I. Loveu all
This reminds me of a time when I was young, carefree, and had no adult responsibilities. Don't we all wish we can relive that younger version of ourselves again
I agree 💯
+Edward Bliss I'm only 20 now, but the 'older' I get, the more I'm glad I was never in a rush to grow up as a kid!
I was barely grown. 20 in 85. I was working for a living, but still clueless and hellraising.
que musica mas preciosa estos muchachos me enamoran me duermo oyendolos como me lamento de no poder ir a verlos cuando vinieron a el salvador ellos son tan bellos
Yeah, but with only all the cool stuff I've collected over the years.
You don't hear music like this anymore. Just listen to those harmonies, like the angels singing.
R.I.P. Boys.
I've spent about an hour now looking through various comments on Outfield videos, yours is the first to make mention of this thing that always struck me about their harmonies, that these two voices sounded incredibly good together. I think the only ones comparable to them is Rolie and Perry, the high and low together working perfectly. Just one of the many different facets that give their music such incredible power.
@@johnboehmer6683 No doubt about it. the boys could sing. It was really was a special.
they really dont its sad the harmonies are amazing in this
RIP Tony Lewis, Your voice will never be forgotten.
It was a simpler time. How I miss the 80's.
80s equals Regan which equals Republican. Sorry its true.
J. Hanson
As opposed to the communist left?
🤷♂️
Amen to those days! It was a great time to be in High School !
RIP TONY LEWIS . A very somber moment.. I guess God needed some awesome musicians to start a new band ! Keep Banging on my Heart Tony . Say hi to John for me ! 🎸🎸
That's okay. At least we are lucky to be around in those times.

I've no doubt my comment will already have been said more than once or twice in the preceding 1585 comments, but......this has to be one of the most under-rated ballads of the 80s. This truly is wonderful stuff....
Awesome singer! The Outfield was one of the iconic groups that defined the 80’s. R.I.P. Tony Lewis. 12/21/1957 - 10/19/2020
RIP Tony...The Outfield is gone....thanks for the music and the memories guys. See you on the flip side
Tony is one of the most underrated vocalists ever. Dude had pipes.
Yes, unbelievable talent.
exactly he's so amazing
nah man I don't know, his high-pitched voice gets kind of annoying quickly
What do ya 'mean had??...their still going strong!!!!!!!
How is he underrated they were a multi platinum band weren't you there??
RIP Tony 💛 Thank you for the memories 😪😢
it's pretty ironic and coincidental bcuz the beauty of this whole song can, literally, make you cry. this particular 80's band is so unique, their sound cannot b matched. the lead vocalist has that extremely rare high-pitched perfect voice, and the combo with the guitarist/lower-key vocalist will never b able to b duplicated in the same way. rock on my brothers
Whew!! I thought it was just me. Good to know crying is a normal possible outcome of listening to this song. I just discovered this song for the first time, last night, and couldn't stop listening to it, all the way into the next day. It was so beautiful, I also couldn't stop crying, that whole time, and couldn't understand why.
+mrwillywonka Brother you surely spoke that right. I am happy to give you the thumbs up they are so special to my heart!!
One thing I always loved about them was their straight forward guitar sound. Some layering, but not overkill. Just well written, nicely recorded songs. And I agree on the vocals, and harmonies. They nailed those perfectly for their songs. They aren't the Beach Boys, but their music didn't call for that. One of the most under rated bands ever. Not overly technical, just straight forward rock. Miss these guys.
MrWillyWonka , Amen, as time goes by, they get better
They were one of my favorites also, I miss them. They still make me tear up.
Why The Outfield is so underrated????
RIP Tony. Thank you for the awesome music
Thank you God for giving us Tony Lewis and Jon Spinks. RIP to both.
The guitar solo for this song is so well done, it's not over done, it's perfect!
R.I.P Tony Lewis.....thanks for your music.
This was always on of my fav songs from them, I am so glad I grew up in the 80's and got to listen to all this cool ass music!!! I did not know that they had passed away until today when I googled to see what they were up to, I was really sad to have learned that! His voice was just awesome and I loved them from the first time I heard them. They will live on forever in their music with the fans who love them!! RIP Tony
This band absolutely rocked. RIP Tony Lewis
Bellissima musíca y que lindo recuerdo ❤😢
Nostalgic 💔
Remember driving around for hours in the 80's listening to the Outfield. Windows down, no seat belts, cold one in the lap, Marlboro reds, The Outfield cranked up and Big hair Beauties in the back seat. Best times ever! Thank you Outfield for the timeless memories!!!!!!🍻
30 years later, I still love this song. Honestly needs to be re-released, for a new generation to be re-awakened.
We were by The Invisible Sun by The Police
One of my favorite albums of the 80s and the year 1985!
Aloha from Hawaii🤙🏽
RIP Tony. Love your songs
Thank you guys for this golden times) RIP John, you the onlyone)
I will forever LOVE this band.
Forever
Forever
R.I.P. John. You sing with the angels now.
Has to be
😭😭😭 When he die?
Cristián Gonzalez back in 2014
Now Tony Lewis has passed away. Sad day. RIP Tony
you will always be remembered 😞😭
This group got me through the military. I listened to them even on the beaches of San Diego. Miss them.
Nothing beats 80's music. . . pop, heavy metal, ballads, even country music was better in the 80's. . . I get so nostalgic for my high school and college days with this music. . .I graduated HS in 1981 and college in 1985. . .and still had half the decade to enjoy the best music ever!!
Estela Tupper you’re right nobody beats this band!
Punk was and is better than all, boy! But, THE OUTFIELD IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS FOR SURE. YEAH, THEY ARE THAT GOOD.
Thank god for John for writing such great songs. RIP John we miss you 😪
This song makes my heart sad a little bit.

I'M 62 NOW AND I STILL LOVE THIS SONG.
56 here and this bands CD's are always in my cars player
Yes sir I agree
And you must still ROCK, too!
Thank you Tony Lewis - The Outfield was a big part of my teen years in the 80s. RIP my friend. Memories of my youth continue to die it seems....yet this music will alway live with all of us from that generation.
Well said my friend
Nos duele la partida de tony... Fue una de las mejores voces
Con mi padre escuchando esta canción a todo volumen, aunque tristes por la partida de un gran personaje 😥
Un amén hasta el cielo donde estás Tony
I was never the biggest fan and yet I like so many of their songs. I remember when they were at their most popular point, my friends absolutely love them and I remember thinking at the time that the outfield might be the most popular band ever nobody was even close to them when they were at their prime. And it sounds like the vocalist died and what a sad thing, I agree with the others who say what a voice he had, incredible. This was a great band and definitely underrated.
For us that got to experience the 1980s in their late teens, 20s or 30s God what a glorious time it was
Tony Lewis and the Outfield are top-notch. Great music and a legacy to be proud of.
The most underrated band of the 80s by far.....people don't know a gem until its lost. Spinks....may you RIP brother. Thanks for the music and lyrics!
And now Tony is gone too
@@inahaze76 I know...gut wrenching. They are both in a better place now.

yep, remember when bands used to play something called MUSIC.
This year needs to stop. We have lost too many great musicians. The 80s were a huge thing for me - I had a cassette of this band and loved them so much. :-(
I'm a 17 year old, listening to 80's music and punk rock music, all in all, I think this generation should open up to the good ol times of music, just keep your head up okay.
@@LuisMatthewMaldonado I was 8 when i listened to old music. My favorite genre
I thought he died in 2014?
@@moonshineladyck no that was John Spinks.
I had a cassette, too. Remember blaring it coming home from work late at night in my new ‘86 Honda Civic. The years really go by quickly. 😢

En esos momentos Jhon y Tony deben estar orgullosos mirándonos desde el cielo al ver su gran legado que dejaron🖤
Si es lo mejor su banda
Just found out today the passing of lead singer Tony Lewis. What an impact it has deep inside of me. Like a part of my childhood is gone too. I was a teen in the 80s who loved music and was specifically attracted to the music of overseas bands. The Outfield were different because they didnt have that new wave sound or appeal. But the sound they had was truly unique and distinctive. And what a powerful voice as the lead singer. Such fond memories I have as a kid jamming to The Outfield and even in my later years due to "Your Love" which seemed to never really go away. Always was excited to still hear it and it never got old for me. Glad I came across this lesser known classic and cant help to "cry just a little". Thank you Outfield for making tremendous music and childhood memories.
What a gift to be born with that voice and then share it with us. Love you Tony! RIP brother your music will live on in our hearts our ears and in our minds. 🤘
Rolon
El mío también me enseñó esta música
The chorus and harmony in this song are epic! Still gives me chills....the guys singing baritone in the background....LOVE!!!
+Tracy L The lead singer is a Tenor a very rare form of Tenor singer too though, the guitarist's are Baritones. :)
Sadly maybe this is the reason they dont performed live.
+רותם שמואלי That's not the case, they perfomed live in 1985-1986 and they did alot of live in 1987 to 1989 again and again in 1991-1992, and later on in 1998-2003 its not really uploaded, I myself is Tenor singer with Baritone aspect to my voice and I posess a range of G1-A6 (6 Octaves). Tony Lewis (Lead Singer) could easily sing live in high pitch no problem that's his modal comfort range, hes a natural rare Tenor and Tenor's like me have it really really easy singing notes above C4 and below C4 (Middle C) so no its completely irrelevant that he couldn't sing live :) He did sing great live from what I've heard :)
+רותם שמואלי I seen these guys in canandiagua NY , show was awesome
MsUpsilon he DID sing great live!!! They didn’t always do the harmony parts on the albums, but when Tony and John RIP sang it was always great.
RIP John. What an underrated band. One of the best power-pop artists to have ever hit the music scene. John Spinks' melodies were truly amazing.
To all the haters of this band u never playd a instrument in ur life
1986 and moving up the ladder with their music, hitting on all cylinders, its like this with young people, ever noticed the best music are while they are in there 20's?
I want the 80's back. Simpler, calm and easy laidback. People was caring and nice to each other..And the music was GOOD. Rip mr Tony Lewis
RIP John, one of the best players on guitar and song writers of our generation.
Tony Lewis's piercing, resonant vocals split sound and make it its own. Their harmonics are second to none. Talent beyond reproach.
Man, do I miss you, Kim.
Esto sí es música que legado tan grande deja este grupo quedarán grabados en la historia de la música en inglés ,para mí son lo máximo, que Dios los bendiga ,
YEARS ago i felt like i was watching an angel sing those vocals then the heavens opened up. IF there ever was a song to describe the year 2020 THIS IS IT. it came too soon we felt alone in quarantine, we didnt call the loved one that died of corona virus and should have. Time went by too fast.
tonys passing another thing that hit hard in 2020, we have riots, looting ,burning,no jobs,no money no food and politicians all over the world not taking care of people in their countrys. We learned from it that we need to take care of EACHOTHER>
Killer song. The words have much meaning. Take life's experiences and smile... Moments in time. Everyone hug yourselves and know this. You've always mattered. Ciao
