Thanks for watching and supporting MartyMusic! I have lots of FREE courses as well, at my website www.MartyMusic.com
Hi can you please teach some marylin manson music
Thank you for the Led Zeppelin, i was just thinking about learning this song
Great tutorial, 10/10. Even caught me with a jumpscare at 1:01 lol.
Thank you , great explanation🎸💯✌🏽
‘Spent my days with a Marty most kind, strummed 6 strings, now I’m playing fiiiiiiiine’.
Yo dis is gud
Nice
bahahahah brilliant
La la laaaa
Ahhh....I see what you did there.......
I thought this day would never come where Going to California was taught to us by the great Marty Music
Agreed. I already learned it from sixstringfingerpicking but I'll have to give it another go with Marty
He's done a tutorial in the past...
Guitarlessons365 has this lesson already. I prefer him because each song lesson is the whole song, solos and all
I like Marty the most, I watch him for most songs I learn and he taught me from the beginning, but I think I like Chris from six string fingerpicking for more advanced acoustic songs and I do like Carl from guitarlessons365 for some tough electric solos
Why?
The hey you guys genuinly scared the shit out of me😂
I just came to the comments looking for this! Hahahaha scared me too !!!
Every time🤣
Yeah I was just listening to the song and then it jump scared me
It literally scared the shit out of me coz I was listening to this while sitting on the pot!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Same thing i was with earphone plugged 😂
I get to spend 32:19 minutes with my favorite teacher learning my favorite Led Zeppelin song. Thanks Marty
I love that you’re doing more classic rock n roll, thank you.
Amen to that
@@ST-xg3gy boooo. shame on you commenting that on a zep song.
@@connornix8957 👏
I have been coming back to this video for a good two years now. I think this is one of the best song tutorials ever on CZcams. Marty really explains well, with just the right amount of repetition where needed. And the arrangement of this complex piece is spot on. Everyone should support Marty at least a little.
thanks buddy!
This is really helpful. I’m just learning it. I’ll have to just work on the strumming pattern before I can move to the next part of the song. How do I drop the stings down? I playing on regular tuning 🤦🏻♀️
Really can’t believe just how much learning Travis picking patterns and practicing those has helped with songs like this, takes it from “damn this is hard” to “wow I only need to practice a few new chord shapes” 👍🏼👍🏼
i watched this entire video and practiced each part over and over and I am shocked I can play one of Zeppelins best folk songs now. Marty you've outdone yourself on this lesson thank you
I think this inadvertently may be the greatest guitar tutorial ever.
I never comment on anything. I’m sort of not really a beginner but the way you explain it without over complicating it. Sort of forcing us to learn the picking pattern before varying the high e or d string looks is masterclass. If you threw all that shit on us at once I would think this is impossible to learn and simply above me. Well done sir..
Holy shit Marty! It took me nearly two months but I have finally learned this song. Thanks so much for taking the time to teach! I have always loved this song, I cannot thank you enough!!!
I love how it goes from beautiful guitar playing to a sudden “HEY WHATS UP YOU GUYS”
Marty, This is your Zenith lesson !
I'm an accomplished pianist, and an instructor but you broke through to me with this epic session !
Bravo & Grazie mille
from your Sicilian brother,
Michael Erik von Hartung
May the Schwartz be with you !
It's all there. Anyone with enough patience can learn this beautiful song. Just follow Marty's steps. I'm still a beginner so it took lots of rewinding and replaying, but I got it. The right hand pattern is the key. Excellent tutorial 5/5.
Can you please do “Fool in the Rain” by Led Zeppelin?
I was stoned got into your intro when you yelled @1:02 it made me jump!😳😂🤣
don’t worry all the time you spent trying to teach this was totally worth it, i’ve learned so much from this and i’m sure others have too. love u dawg
thanks
I think Marty has a special emotion to LZ...
bro everyone does
@@thesephman4042 guess you're right
Good taste! 😎

Marty, you made me cry. That sound touched my heart. So beautiful.
Man, I was really zenning out there for a few then all of sudden ***"HEY WHATS UP YOU GUYYYSS**** .. BRO MY HEART STOPPED!
Can you do “life without you” by Steve ray Vaughn I’ve been wanting to learn this song for so long but I can never find a lesson
Yes please
Yesssss
Pretty please Mr. Marty
Yes definitely!
Texas blues ally or something like that
Loved this lesson Marty. Been on and off this one for ages trying to get that travis picking down. I think I'm getting close. I like your version, it was easy to follow. I'll be playing this tune for hrs now, its such a fantastic melody. I absolutely love it.
It was a dream for me to learn this song. I thought it was more difficult than it is, but I've got a good teacher. I've learned it in 4 hours :)
I’ve never heard this song until now, it’s beautiful
Max you have hundreds of hours of listening pleasure ahead of you if u haven’t heard this Zep tune.
Way to go! Beautiful! You challenge me to learn more and more. Keep it up brother!! Thank you! :- )
Jimmy Page is a genius
You've been missing out! Glad he opened up something new for you 👍😎
@@avonnabors and John Paul Jones. He doesn’t get enough credit especially considering he played the mandolin on this song
Wow this song looked so daunting to try to learn! So satisfying to make progress with it, thank you so much Marty to make this beautiful song accessible!❤🙌🤟
Marty, thank you, just thank you. This was the first song that I actually learned and to be honest I almost shed a tear playing it, it’s just so beautiful. Thank you for all that you do for the guitar community
I appreciate all of your hard work in breaking this down. It’s not easy to break down a finger picked song to this degree and it sounded great. 3/4 of the way through it. Thank you so much!
every time i’ve tried this song it’s been so difficult and it’s almost like as soon as Marty taught it it was just clear and simple . thank you so much !
Can't thank you enough Marty for all that you do. I came back to pickup guitar for the first time in 15 years (since high school) at the beginning of 2021 and have made such progress with the help of many of your videos. I can't believe this but I am able to play all of the parts of this song and I'm confident with more practice I can play through it entirely and fluidly. Such an accomplishment for me. This was always one of my favorite Zeppelin songs and when I was younger I never even thought to attempt to play it. I don't think I could have really ever learned it without videos like this one, at least not at my current stage of guitar playing. Really appreciate the way you break down everything, explain to folks what to practice on, etc. My goal for the end of this year is to have a few other Zeppelin songs under my belt :).
Marty!!! Thank you so much for putting this lesson together. Been working at this for a few weeks now and finally have it down. I've always loved this song.. definitely one I'll always remember how to play. Cheers
One of my all time favourite Zep songs. Just an absolutely gorgeous tune in every way.
May the Schwartz be with you !
I have enjoyed this lesson so very much and applaud your efforts and time that must have gone into this lesson. As a music mentor, I can only imagine the thought and labor of love that must have been involved. Once more I say Bravo Marty ! Bravissimo
Top drawer Marty : this was a really tough song for me, and although almost 2 years into picking up a guitar, I was very determined to learn this one: it brings to life such vivid memories of my teenage years.
Thanks to your excellent and considered tuition; breaking it down, building it up with logical steps, and then pulling it together: almost 3 months later I have the tune down and fingering etched into memory.
Now I just need to try a marry-up the lyric now, but my instrumental arrangement using your building-blocks sounds so good on its own .... well, according to a small 'select' group who have heard me play it !
Thank you, Marty, you really are up there with the "best of the best" when it comes to teaching: you make acoustic guitar accessible.
I love your instructional style. When I get nostalgic and want to learn classic songs, usually you have the easiest lesson to absorb. It’s just great. I can shred like mad, but sometimes learning a song with alternate tunings or strange chord voicing is just fun to learn from someone who simplifies and demonstrates rather than trying to reinvent the wheel learning by ear. Thank You for this great lesson and all the others.
I’ve been following Marty since around 2006 I think. He’s always taught the best riffs, I remember the first video I watched was Riff O-Matic, Black Sabbath, Iron Man. I watched that video before I bought a guitar and thought, I’ll be able to play in no time watching this guy, turned out, I was right. It’s much better now that his channel is Marty’s music, better then guitar jams, you can tell he’s happier. I’ve even took his paid courses on his web site, that’s where you become a better guitar player, you learn more technique as well as reasoning behind what you are doing instead of just cool licks. Rock N Roll🤘
I’ve been wanting to play this song for the last 2 years. This lesson felt like it was a one-on-one lesson designed just for me. Thank you!
Wow... I stopped watching your vids a while back because they were too easy, but you’ve been on fire for a couple of days now. Never would have thought you’d do this tune, that’s so amazing! Definitely one of my favourite songs ever
Never knew you play guitar, Law :)
@@timd3961 you wouldn’t believe how boring life on a submarine gets. It’s not just fighting the government and being a badass

Finally another Zeppelin song thanks Marty
You’re the man Marty. Was learning tears in heaven. Left that video to tune. Going to California came up after the tuning video automatically, but it was the actual song. I instantly said “why haven’t I learned this?” Searched for a lesson and you popped up again. Love the videos. 🤘🏽
I've loved this song and wanted to play it my whole life, and I am pretty proficient with tabs, but for some reason the tuning and tab were just too difficult for me.
Thanks to your vid I was playing it within minutes. Thanks SOOO MUCH!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely amazing tutorial, Marty, thank you! What a gorgeous and nuanced song; you broke it down masterfully so we can all enjoy, very grateful to you!
I've gotten to the point I don't need such a broken down explanation to play songs, but my god am I grateful you make it so easy to understand what you're playing so that almost anyone of any level could learn the songs you teach. It really helped me immensely years ago when I was starting and so many videos guys just kinda gloss over what they are doing and it makes it so difficult to follow along
Always wanted play Zep's "Going to California," thank you Marty for making this happen. Brought out the 12 string for this - sounds so good. Thank you.
Zeppelin, Doors, & Floyd is all I need in life
I agree
Marty Schwartz taught me guitar. Started 8 years ago at 14 and I still come back to these sometimes. Thank you Marty!!
There are a lot of tutorial videos on how to play GTC----this one is by far the best. Don't look anywhere else. Just stay here and watch this one over and over until you can play this in your sleep. You'll be happy you did.
AND---Always remember: Don't practice until you get it right--practice until you can't get it wrong.
Amen brother!
Hey Marty I have been following you for about 4 years now, I wanted to let you in on something.. You have got me to the point to where I just have to watch what you are doing and can replicate it. You have made me quite the musician, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me be able to find happiness. If it wasnt for you and Papa Stache I dont even want to think about where I'd be l. Thank you so much and please don't stop inspiring others you are the man. God bless you and your family, from mine to yours.
No other master teacher, teaches like Marty with so much patience and empathy for the student 🙏🏼 many many thanks as always!
Marty i don’t know how to thank you. i have never played guitar more in my life than when i couldn’t his lesson. i struggle with putting things off, just in my normal life. but honestly my life has been so much better due to learning this song. i’ve been practicing this one for about a week and i’ve already found so much progress in both my right and left hand dexterity with fingerpicking and keeping rhythm. very grateful for this one.
Without question, Marty is the best teacher I’ve ever had. One talented man who knows how to breakdown the complex to its most simplest parts! Another great lesson here!
I've been following your channel for eight years, helped me tremendously with guitar playing
This was such a great lesson! You said that you spend 10 days trying to come up with a way to teach this very complicated, and beautiful song. I so much appreciate that time and effort! When I first heard you play it I didn’t think I’d ever get it but like so many of your lessons, you did a great job breaking it down into digestible piece.
This is the second song that I'm able to play all the way through. Thank you so much for your lessons. You have no idea what it means being able to play songs from my favorite band of all time.
Marty, thank you SO very much for taking so much time to teach us this song. I have been learning it piece by piece over the last two weeks and after finally getting the strum patterns down (took about a week 😅) the rest was easy as pie to learn! Just took some patience and lots of rewinding. I can’t wait to post my version of this song once I feel like I’m completely ready. You are the best! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I freaking love this channel, I love that he explains what you have to learn first then it gets more complex, and I also love it’s free, thank you so much Marty!!!!!
One of my fav songs. So beautiful. Like a lullaby. The breaking it down into parts is extremely helpful. I’ve gotta lotta work to do! 😢
MARTY!!! You rule brother! I’ve been a fan for years. Keep on rocking my friend
Marty ,Im right in your backyard OC , and you are the reason I started playing 15 years ago. My guitar collection is off the rails ,thank you for being a thorough and halarious teacher my brother. Another great video.
Marty thank you so much for this one man. I really appreciate the beginnermediate form of teaching in this one. Where you tell us the chords and picking and play it slowly then move onto the next line. Thank you!❤
I've been coming back and forth to this tutorial for the past couple of years. I finally am at a point where I feel comfortable playing this song. The song is so versatile and you can just plug in the various riffs where ever you want them and it still sounds amazing. Just a testament to the true genius that is Jimmy Page. Thanks for this tutorial Marty!
Really great breakdown of the core parts, Marty! I sifted through several tutorials on CZcams and yours was the easiest to absorb and got me up and running quickly!
Simplemente Millones de Gracias desde Buenos Aires Argentina Gracias Gran Maestro!!!!!!
Complex song, but broken down so wonderfully. Thank you, Marty.
I've listened to the start of this so many times. It's beautiful. You nailed it Marty.
Man you are hands down the best. My son and I have tried tradition classes and we lose intrest pretty quickly. You make the lessons easy and enjoyable so we don't give up
Bro, I love your tutorials. I play classical guitar but also like to branch out a bit. Your tutorials are so much better than most others, because you don’t just rush of and think we know it you actually break it down. Thanks man 👍
Learning this song is making me so happy I've been wanting to learn it for so long and im finally here and im having such a good time playing it in its full beauty thank you
i teared up right when you started playing. so beautiful. thank you Marty
Wow, thank you!
Very nicely done sir! You can play it all AND teach. Your lessons are greatly appreciated and helpful.
Thanks Marty, this is my favorite Zeppelin song, hands down.
Great tutorial. I love the way you explain and play for demonstration. I'm more of a bass player, but love Travis picking on acoustic guitar. Every guitar player should learn a couple of songs in this style; it sounds great and people think you're some kind of virtuoso.
Truth! I've finally got this version down. And it does look impressive when your playing doesnt it. I looked in the mirror when I was picking it and impressed the hell out of myself! 🤣🎸
I've always wanted to play this song since I first heard it. Thank you for the lesson and helping me take my finger picking to a new level. May you get to 10 million subscribers.
Been waiting for this song for a while now, one of the most beautiful acoustic songs of all time...Thanks Marty
Dude, you got the FEEL of this song down pat. Thanks!
Thank you so much Marty!!! This tutorial was by far the best one I whatched for this song. i appreciate you spending the time to teach!! You're the best!
YAY IVE NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED MARTY!!!! Fav Led Zeppelin song EVER and my most streamed song this year!!!
You are just giving us so much in the past week thank you brother
You really are the best guitar teacher. You've taught me many many songs already thanks for the excellent work and passion you have as a teacher
Finally! CZcams ads understands what I want to see! Marty Schwartz ads during Marty Music videos!
Thanks Marty...once again... a very classic favorite that I find very well worth listening to more than once in a hour.
Very best lesson ever on this classic, thanks Marty!
Fantastic job of breaking down/ teaching this tune. Thanks so much!
This has got to be a coincidence... This just recently became my favorite song from them and possibly my favorite song ever made just because I've recognized a deep resonance with the melody and the lyrical aspect of this piece. Thank you so much for adapting such a beautiful melody onto the acoustic guitar and allowing me to express this masterpiece in person to myself. Love your videos!
phenomenal lesson. Learned it in a couple days thanks to this.
If u know ur finger picking it’s pretty easy to get it’s just memorizing all of it and getting the timing never be discouraged by how hard something looks until u try it
This is what I love about Marty's teaching; succinct, to the point, great suggestions....simple and straightforward. A+++ again Marty! Sorry kids...not for beginners necessarily....but it IS possible for a 1 year player to wrap his head around it as well... because of Marty's patience. Kudos!
Wow, you’re a great teacher! Thanks for this tutorial.
So glad you finally did this song man! I’ve been staring at the music for years and now I can finally play it
Dudes got the patients of a saint to teach this one. Ty. What a great feeling when the muscle memory finally kicks in! Ty i will like any zep lesson u do I promise that lol
It’s beautiful.

I'm so happy you did this lesson! I've wanted to learn this for a long time!

One of the most beautiful songs. I could just listen to the guitar on this.
Why did I legit watch the video on the other channel with your buddy teaching it and now you made it. My days complete
Thank you Marty. This is just an amazing song, by the best band ever.
