Hey guys, worked on this the past 2 weeks, was a blast! What a quality Rank I lineup Japan has! Truely amasing, you get surprised at every other plane and more. I personally didnt remember it that way, i pushed trough it back then. Im happy i had to revisit it for this :) I hope you enjoy! And dont forget to like, comment, share and subscribe for more! This series will continue soon with the next episode. If you had not concluded it yet im gonna go trough Rank I for all nations first, and then start Rank II with US again. Completly agree with the A5M4 issue. It is above average plane but has the problem that the Ki-27 is the competitor. if only the A5M4 goes down to 1.0 it will be a factor to get it imediately.nowadays a premium version of Ki-27 exist before the A5M4 was the option. also from my experiance (some yers ago) when i started to transit form arcade to realistic many of my aproach maneuvers with arcade style aggresivenes aka 9-G turn ended with wing overload and rip. I feel that the A5M4 was a little bit more tolerant then the Ki-27 to hi-G fragilness of wings. Have you the same feeling?

Apparently the A5m’s were actually going to have a gull wing design to help them when landing on carriers but it caused them so much trouble when landing that after the first prototype they changed the wings

Having subscribed to your channel less than a week ago I had a pleasant surprise to fly against you and your squadron yesterday. I knew from take off we were doomed but tried to put up a good fight anyway. You were piloting B17B, I believe. As it happens I was flying Ki-27 otsu and just starting with Japanese planes this video is spot on for me. It was your wing man on P-36 who made me a fireball after I very foolishly went head-on with him! Well, I try to learn from my mistakes :) To our defense only your squadron was able to shot down our planes. Good content on the channel and see you in the skies!

In 1936-1939 when the Ki 10 and Ki 27 were used in China nobody in the theater had self sealing fuel tanks..

Thank you for all your guides, I find them very useful so please keep them coming. I have been playing for nearly a year & with some countries I am just crawling into into Rank 4 in Arcade, but I love coming back to Rank 1 aircraft (maybe as I am better with them).

Maybe you should put up these videos in separate parts, like ki-line, zero line, bomber line etc...you would get higher views combined, since i think lot of viewers are discouraged by the length of these videos. Awesome video again btw, keep it up!

Very helpful tutorial. I am flying around machines from the 2nd era of the Japanese Empire and I focus mainly on this nation. That's why I'm waiting patiently for the next guide :) Cheers

I mean, technically the F1M2 isn't even a bomber, it's actuallyl a naval reconnaisance floatplane, carried on warships and launched via catapult launchers.

this is useful for the fact i don't really acknowledge japanese planes because on how weak they are (i only own 10 japanese vehicles in total) but this will give me a different opinion on japanese aircraft

I would argue that there is one role that the Ki-27 doesn't do particularly well, and that's bomber hunting. Two slow-firing 7.7 mm MGs on a plane that fragile just isn't going to kill your target fast enough unless you get lucky, and the gunners on a lot of bombers you'll encounter have comparable or even superior firepower to you. Ideally, if you're in a Ki-27 you leave the bombers to somebody with more firepower and focus on securing air superiority. Of course, if all else fails you can always resort to ramming...
And on the subject of durability, the lack of self-sealing fuel tanks isn't as pronounced at rank 1 as it is at later BRs because believe it or not, self-sealing fuel tanks were still fairly new and not all that common in the 30s when many of these early-war planes were built. A lot of the low rank aircraft on every tree are highly susceptible to fuel tank fires for this reason, not just Japanese ones...the difference being that they get them later than everyone else.

enjoyed the video although i was dissapointed with your assesment of the b5n2,i find this plane a dream to fly-high manouerabilty and love to use it as a torpodeo plane+ the 800kg is enough to kill a base (rb) imho.looking forward to future videos.
Okay, maybe its better for someone who masters the plane, and puts time in it. I found it lackluster jumping into it. Much prefer the D3A1.
@@jengar6258 everyone has their own niche with certain planes,the b5n2 happnes to be one of mine and since i am mainly a bomber pilot it fits right in with me,i find more confort flying bombers than ftrs but thats just me.I like to find those bombers that i can grind with that arnt too high a cost for payout-most highend bombers are slow and the cost to fix is terrible thus making them not desirable to fly,also i wish they would make an escort function ingame for all bombers-they really get no love and ppl rever them to sucide planes,i love to see ppl react when they get killed by a bomber thinking they are just cannon fodder :)-cheers m8...keep up the excellent work on your videos.

Struggling to enjoy War Thunder at times, it's a plane game for mouse aim. I'd like a waplane game similar to this that only allows joystick, as all planes are flown with. Sim is not for me.
Well, we all have our taste, i love WT, and its mouseaim system that can make a gamer feel like a pilot.

I managed to get two fighters to escort my big H6K4 i had so much fun intill that pesky p-26 rammed my wing
Pretty sure that non self sealing fuel tanks are actually an advantage. Often when I fly Japanese planes and catch on fire, the tank simply drains all fuel and stops the fire while self sealing fuel tanks often lead to death.
I also noticed this when setting Japanese planes on fire. They’ll often put out the fires, which rarely happens nowadays to other planes.

The D3A1 actually does have self-sealing tanks. It, the Ki-21-la and the F1M2 are the only japanese planes in rank I to have them

Now, I must say that I am a HUGE fan of the B5N "kate". Her lack of offensive armament is quite annoying, yes, but I think she compensates with her 800kg bomb and climb rate. The kate is a very nice bomber if you use the 800 to go after bases. The 800 is also quite nice in tank RB, as it's almost like a low tier dollar store Pe-8.
Alternatively, if you like to play WT as a survival horror game, the kate is good option for that. She's one of a very small number of planes that can't fight back.
Why didn't you just go straight to rank 2 USA? or are you gonna go past all the tier 1s first?
That 2nd option is what i was planning, but i might work ahead with one nation, its all fluid ;)
Going tier by tier does make sense, though. Newer players to any game need to establish strong basics and fundamentals of mechanics before blitzing through progression.
I love this series. I really hope you continue it into Rank 2 and 3. Do you plan to do rank one in all nation's? Or are you going to move to other ranks in USA and Japan First?

Nice! But a some of the rank I Japanese planes you said that don't have self sealing tanks, actually do, like: J1N1, Ki-45 ko, D3A1.
You're right, i didnt notice those new tags, i've never noticed that now the feal tank actually say wether their self sealing or not. I was going off old believes that the japanese only started self sealing fuel tanks much later in the war.
@@jengar6258 Doesn't really make make difference to be honest, they still burn up very easy.
KI32 ...sorry to correct you but ... you can easyly kill an enemy base with those 4 100kg bombs and if you have a well trained crew, the reargunner can also kill enemies who think you are an easy target ...

Great job bro, but for me playing low tier Japanese planes is cancer. Maybe they are not my type of aircraft. I had definitely more fun with the Soviets, Brits and the US but I won't give up Japan and I'm motivated to complete the line :-)
its a great line indeed.
I tryd them out i think they have good preformance in flight but the low caliber guns rarely alow me to get a kill they always give me a strugel and a try again and again like it shoots paper balls or somthing.
Hello Jengar! I'm curious what your opinion of the Ki-27 Otsu is at 2.0 now? I am somewhat new to Air Realistic and from my limitied experience it seems like it's still quite good for its BR and I'm now curious what you think the best 1.3 plane is since it got bumped up. Thanks!
such a shame they allways feel they need to use a sledgehemmer. why not 1.7 i would say. It can still do a job at 2.0, but uptiers to 3.0 will be rough.
Wanna know why the japanese 7.7s feel weaker than others? Lower firerate. That is what fucks the damage output on all japanese guns.
I have a question. The Ki-45-Ko is 2.3 in Rank I. If I go to, for example, arcade battles, with this plane and other rank I planes along with it, would be most likely be up-teired because of the higher BR the plane has compared to others of its rank?
the matchup always used to be calculated by the first 3 highest br's devided by three. you should make lineups based on br's, not ranks.

You didn’t use the bomb load for the h6k4 the right way.You would’ve destroyed the base if you used the different 800 kg bomb.You have to check the damage mass.The one with the higher number is very good.Its not a weakness at all
its better, but its still not good to comparable planes at its br.

bombers do cost alot but can be fun if you're careful in my opinion

Okay, my mistake then, i have always heard and thought japan only developed self sealing fuel tanks late in the war.

currently at 1.7, catching fire means I am guarunteed to die because they can't go out
