    There's a brazillian journalist called Miltom Neves which in an interview said it had a friend that went to a meeting days before the match to define the team strategie for the match, and in that reunion was the Brazilian soccer federation president, the coach of the Brazillian team and the tecnical comission to discuss the tactics for the match. All the people in the reunion that saw the Germany trainings said that they we're far much better and Brazil should not play agressive, wait for a counter attack opportunity and pray for the best. But the coach decided to put the tiny Bernard and to play agressive to surprise the Germany defense. That was the result

    • @frankvandorp2059
      @frankvandorp2059 Před 2 lety +34

      Bernard did not lose this match for Brazil though. The defensive errors and complete positioning fails fall on the defenders alone, and it's stunning how professional footballers did effectively forget everything they learned during their careers under pressure.

      @@frankvandorp2059 Yes, here in Brazil we all agree that the players had no guilt on what happened. We agree that the fault was on the coach that decided to put Bernard that was tiny in comparisson with their defenders, to put Fred an attacker that did literally nothing in the competition and put Brazil to play agressive against Germany.

      @@thiagodourado2692 It's not just the coach though. Look for example at Maicon (number 23) with the second goal, who was supposed to be marking Klose. I don't think I ever saw a defender do this little in his own penalty area, when his marked man gets the ball. He just wanders along a bit and watches it happen.

      @@frankvandorp2059 Everyone of the team was in shock, I think it was psychologic that every player started to get lost in the field. In this times is up to the coach to tell the goalkeeper or someone in the team to simulate a cramp, just to make the game stop, at least to make the team play for not taking more goals. But he just watched the game sitting and looking the disaster. And the fault was not only his for choosing the players for the match and the tournament. It was fault of the CBF of calling him to be the coach. Soccer changed a lot since 2002 and CBF didn't believe in that and calling an outdated coach confirms it.

Both the scouts said Germany was too strong and Brazil should not play agressive and wait for an opportunity to counterattack and pray for the best. David Luiz, Fernandinho, Marcelo, and Fred were particularly atrocious. Luiz and Marcelo made a couple of good plays, but they looked lost most of the time, and Marcelo gave up some terrible balls. Fred's heat map looked like a dot - he barely moved the entire match. Luiz definately should have been red-carded in the 77th minute for trying to kick Mueller in the groin then shooting a bird at him (he missed the kick - it was that kind of a day), and I think that motivated Mueller to team up with Schurrle for that last goal a few minutes later, with which they beat Luiz.

    The reason Brazil lost is cause they didn’t compensate their formation and played the wrong tactics. If you know ball, Germany is one of, if not the greatest football team when it comes to creating chances to score. Brazil being the weaker team should’ve changed the formation, played defensively and unleash counter attacks when possible. In the game you can see when Marcelo and other players was too up high, Germany would just send all their players to attack the box and gave no time for Brazil. Just a sad a day for a Brazil fan. 😭

On the other side Klose/Muller/Ozil/Khedira/Kroos vs. Luiz/Dante/Maicon/Marcelo. That's a joke of a mismatch. Germany were just far better both as a team and in regards to individual talent. That 2014 German Squad is one of the best assemblies of talent l've ever seen. Even with Thiago Silva and Neymar, Germany would have been favorites. The only reason people saw this game as 50/50 is because Brazil had rode home support throughout the tournament. And they looked shaky throughout the tournament!

All the other brazilian players were terrible. Not just this game, and not just this tournament, but in general. Dante, Maicon, Fred, Hulk, none of them are or were top class football players. (By that I mean that players who would have a real chance at winning the Cup.) And please don't even try to bring up David Luís, who I belive to be the most overrated defender in the top leagues currently.
      In addition, Brazil played terribly during the whole World Cup. Chile played on equal footing with them during their match, Colombia should have knocked them out a round later. Heck, even during the group stages, against Mexico, with fair referees, they would have lost (in that case, they wouldn't have made it into the elimination rounds). The reason they advenced through these matches were exceptional individual effort from Neymar and Thiago Silva (in offense and defense respectively).
      Against them was a german team made up truly top class individuals (Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Muller, Klose, Khedira, Boateng, Hummels) and players at the top of their games during their carreer (Osil, Götze(although he didn't get to play), Howedes, etc.). In fact, Dirty Jerz weas totally on point: this was an utter and absolute mismatch.
      When my father, my brother and I saw Neymar get injured and Thiago Silva get his second yellow card, we were already discussing how badly would brazil lose. The opinions were varied between 3:0 and 6:2, but basically everybody was betting on an at least 3 goal difference.
