The roll out is from the crumbling cast partially blocking the passageways. Additionally, the boiler was feeding multiple times per day. The boiler is history. There is absolutely no repair option. Mike, You do the labor, and get the boiler donated by manufacturer, and my company will kick in $500.00 to cover incidentals, pipe, fittings, etc..... but no cheaping out, give her the Taj Mahal treatment.... She seems to be a very nice lady. Sometimes someone deserves a break, ESPECIALLY when they do not ask for one.
OK so ofc i dont have the full picutre and the background stories from Mikey regarding what financial difficulties they have been going through. However, based on what i saw in the video, the owner of this house does not deserve the free service. You can totally disagree with me, thats just based on what i see from the video no offense. 1. Those EGO equipments laying in their garage are not cheap. If they are poor enough and cant afford a service call, there is no way they can afford a whole set of EGO equipments. 2. The boiler is 9 years old, that means 9 years ago they got the money to replace and get a brand new boiler installed in their house. I have seen ppl with 30- 40 years steam boiler system and they are the ones who really cant afford the money because they dont even have it to update their system. Just my 2 cents.

This looks a lot like my 15-year old Burnham ES24, so I want to understand it. At first I thought maybe the rollout is being caused by blockage in the gas burners. But then I saw all that crud on the bottom. Is that the crumbling cast iron you're talking about? So there's a leak corroding the boiler coils? What causes that?
@@jeffreyjohn2037on a compact gas boiler there is more to it. It has been 25 years already that even gas companies will not clean. Cleaning is temporary. The boiler has issues. I have cleaned many boilers and would disagree. Mikecwanted to replace the boiler is in the best interest of the customer. Same advise I would give. And on a side note I would call someone cleaning it dishonest.

Your video doesn’t provide much of a diagnosis. Why exactly is the boiler not working properly? If the water tank itself is ok, why can’t a repair be made for much less than replacing the entire boiler?

Most will last 10 to 15 years before replacement is needed. Replacement cost under $300.00 - $350.00. No need to replace boiler.”

What causes the flame roll-out? Is the boiler full of soot and/or is the chimney clogged up?
