  • How to remove and replace the wheel arch liner on a VW Passat B6, 2005 - 2010 model. The wheel arch liner had become broken and damaged in my Passat so I wanted to replace it to prevent any damage to the bodywork of the car.
    Part number for the wheel arch liner is 3C0 805 977 and for the bolts/screws to attach it N 103 546 02

      You can buy them directly from vw dealers or on eBay

    Thanks for the video, do you have the part number/name of the second/lower part of the liner at the front that you didn't have to replace?

    I’ve a 2015 Insignia and the rear right arch liner is a little loose from when my car bottomed out a little when I clipped a tree root parking on grass. A mechanic told me I’d need to replace the whole rear bumper, is that necessary can I not just replace the liner?

      I don't know the setup on the Insignia but it might be that the damage has broken clips on the bumper so the liner will no longer attach to it

      VW & Ford Car Maintenance Servicing Tips the liner I believe run into the bumper a little bit. It’s not badly damaged no rubbing on the tyre but I really don’t want to buy a new bumper.

    Hi there, thanks for sharing. What was the part number of the broken piece from the bottom? Mine has come off so don't have it to get the part number. Cheers

      I don't unfortunately but if you speak to your VW dealer they should be able to advise. There is also a VW parts catalogue online that may have it, I'll try to look out link

    Does the whole wheel have to come off or can you do without?

    • @ajvw
      @ajvw  Před 5 lety +1

      You can't realistically do it with the wheel on the car as you need to access the screws and manipulate the old & new lines into place

    Can I leave them out! ??

    • @ajvw
      @ajvw  Před 5 lety

      You can but it does protect the inner wheel arch from debris and damage

    Why would a person want to replace a wheel archliner ?

    • @ajvw

      Good question, you will need to remove it for various jobs underneath the car such as suspension replacement. Arch liners can get damaged and need to be replaced. My liner got caught on an obstacle and ripped so needed to be replaced
