Hello. There is a problem with my car that I think you know the solution to. It is the rear lock on which the trunk has been more difficult to open lately. And today it can't open at all. The only way to open the trunk is from the inside via the switch. It does not receive any command via the remote key (it cannot be locked, unlocked or opened). And I checked and saw that the cable did not break. I think it's the central trunk lock motor. And let me mention that when the trunk is opened, it reports on the on-board computer that the door is open.

I get this fault on mine after about 10 minutes of driving the light comes and it starts to misfire but I don't have that plug. It's 130bhp ASZ engine in 2001 golf s estate. Any ideas.

My power steering is not working intermittently, when I start up the car. Seems when I start the car up after having parked for 15+ minutes, there is no issue. The problem seems to occur more often after I turn off the car, and have to restart within 15 minutes. Battery is 12.5V when off, and 13.9V when idle. Fuses have been checked. I am still wondering if the battery still needs to be replaced, though. I purchased this car 6 months ago, and it has 160K miles. I'm driving a 2013 Tiguan 2.0T. Somewhere I read that a 2013 Tiguan does not require reprogramming of the battery, but you said your 2012 required reprogramming? 1. What else can I do to check the battery? 2. Can I reprogram the battery myself? If so, how?

I can't seem to find one cable that as 4 wires on it. Most sellers on AliExpress have 4 wires on the pictures but when i ask them, they all say that there are 3 wires. Can someone provide me a link to a cable with 4 "real" wires.

I’m having this issue, had timing chain done and issue started. Got it done again by someone else and same issue. This will be third time now to go in the garage. Chain is grinding/slapping once oil pressure reached and only on idle u can hear bad rattle and when setting off from idle i can hear grinding. Any info or advice would help

Thank you, pulled out my dads old planer and got to work with some lubricant and started freaking out after about an hour into work it stopped and my mechanics ptsd went full gear (not knowing this used a simple drive belt) thought i messed up the carbon with the lubricant when i daw it sparking like most dewalts do.

in my case the temperature isn't going up during winter at all, but on hot summer days scale goes up but rarely all the way to 90c, only when the car is in intense traffic, what could the problem be?

I recently bought a VW Golf MK7 2.0 TDI and it reaches a normal working temperature of around 90 Celsius in 5 minutes or less no matter the outside temperature. And also, even if you drove it for 5 minutes, when you turn it off, the fan keep working for another 2 3 minutes. Is this normal?

It'ss also good to check the plastic plate thats closing the cold air intake to draw hot air from the headers when the engine is cold. As it's operated be some bimetal cylinder, it doesn't work most of the times after this many years. This engines than suffer and it's very noticible in summer. Removing this plastic plate lets the car breathe again.

It's a bit hit n miss my best friend has an 2015 A4 tsfi and "uses" less oil than my old bkp diesel Passat, so far he's never had top it up between services..However my work colleagues 2014 A4 drinks oil like it's a petrol additive he's always topping it up at work.

Tfsi do suffer with oil burning problem.I think they got coddid piston rings

Also try running Amsoil for 1 or 2 oil changes , have found that can reduce oil conusmption if it's due to sticking piston rings as high in detergent and cleans engine internally without the risk of using flushing oils/additives.

Problem is also "long life" oil change intervals. If you are not buying new by the time you get say a 3y old car it can easily have done 30k miles on 1 oil change and the piston rings are starting to gum up. Don't do it stick to 1x year or every 10k max.
