You have no idea how much this is gonna help me. People always tell me "brush your hair". IM A RELIGIOUS HAIR BRUSHER!!!
Yay I’m so glad 🙏🙏 I was always told the same and brushing my hair just makes it worse so I only do it before showering now!!
I've somehow got to the age of 33 without realising for myself (or anyone ever noticing, including hairdressers!) that my hair type is wavy and THIS video is exactly what I needed to help guide me on my new hair care journey. Of all the videos for waves I've come across, this is by FAR the quickest and easiest way to care for natural waves and it WORKS. After one wash my waves are already looking defined so I can't wait to see how they look down the line once I really start to look after them. Thank you so much for your no frills advice girly.
OMGGGG this makes me so happy thank u for commenting!!! And yes, hairdressers have always told me my hair was damaged and to lay off the heat tools when I never use them in the first place lolll. Our hair type is rlly something else hahaha
First off, thank you for this. I too have frizzy/pouffy hair and secondly I laughed so hard when you said expect the unexpected, cause my waves are literally different each time I wash it.
LOL thank u and it rlly be like that and sometimes it just doesn’t cooperate at all 🙄
I know I was so glad it’s not just me that they look completely different every time, one side is more wavy, the other is a bit more curly hahaha
this feels so inspiring because you make it seem very doable with not that many products !! my hair is always frizzy and poofy, others would tell me to brush it :( and it gets worse. thanks for the video !
this means so much ty!! I felt the same way too (overwhelmed by products and annoyed at the hair brushing comment lol). thanks for watching 💕💕
Omg I think I have the exact same hair type as you, and every time I search for wavy hair tutorials, the videos are usually catered towards wavier hair girls using too many products (to my liking at least). Glad to have found your video, Asian wavy hair and a less tedious process 🤣 definitely trying out the gel serum
lol yes so relatable! I tried those routines and they were so tedious + I found weighed my hair down probs bc it's on the looser end so it didn't work well anyways. I hope this works for u!
thank youu, this video is WHAT I NEEDED
YAYYYY
Thank you so much for this video! It really helped me😩❤️✨
yay I'm so glad!! ty for watching
GIRL you are a lifesaver 💋💋
Bahahha glad I could help xoxo
@matchamaddie, Your videos are so helpful! Your hair is beautiful, thank you for sharing this video✨
Aw this is so nice thank you for watching!! 💖
Thank you for this! I’m 43 and have never understood how to care for my wavy hair.
Thanks for your comment!! It’s definitely a journey lol
im glad you didn't use a diffuser bc i hate the loudness too lol! going to try this
lol u get it bahaha
Yes I love this! Basically my exact routine, except I also do sea salt before the gel, but I even use that same serum! It’s super cheap too. i also sometimes use the Not Your Mother’s Curl Cream, it’s very lightweight and moisturizing and also doesn’t leave a cast. I like that you brush it out and rewet it, I think that might help my bangs because I basically don’t touch it when I get out of the shower so they end up looking either super crazy (they’re the curliest part of my hair) or kinda wonky half waves because I combed them out
I've been growing my hair since 2019 and throughout the years I was fighting to get my hair to be straight.. as I've learnt to accept it, watching this video made me feel happy about my hair. I just needed to learn how to care for it properly. thank you!!
YES!! And honestly on the days when my hair is straight, I just let it be straight instead of making waves in the way that media typically represents them :) thanks for watching 💕💕
Daaang i dont think i can get this product in canada but this tutorial is awesome for the not-straight not-entirely wavy crowd.. thank you!!
thank you!! I'm also not sure if they're in Canada but any other gel/wave serum might be worth a try as an alternative :))
My hair is def wavy. A lot of wavy hair tutorials give me really flat hair. I’ve started wet brushing mine upside down and then plopping it for 30mins or so. It makes my hair a little poofier the next day, but I kinda like it. Makes it look wild with some personality
Such a good tip to get volume lol
We have the same type of hair!! I honestly didn’t know what to do with it. Thank you!
Glad I could help! I really had no clue too and it still has its own moods lol
Thissss + hair dryer with diffuser
Stumbled upon this video today and wow! I heard somebody talking about my kinda hair.
Yes!! I thought it was just me and then I realized our hair type never gets talked about 😭😭
hii maddie, love the way your hair looks absolutely gorgeous. I had some questions about my own hair--
my salon guy told me to not use conditioner and use a mask each time i shampoo because i used to have veryyy rough hair. wdy think should i continue doing it or get back to shampoo and conditioner?? (very confused and also i don't style my hair just normally dry so do i need leave-ins??
THANKS
my wavy hair is very abundant and thick so I'm scared about the non brushing, but definitely going to try this ... thanks!!
Combing in shower helps too! Or while your hair wet, just not when it's dry lolol
@@MatchaMaddie Hi love, I'm following your tips, but, what do you do next day to fix the hair? or do you wash the hair every day? :-)
@@Esmeralda-re8fcI'm currious of this too. Thanks❤
can you see the comment section?
But what to do next day? Like when i wake up my hairs are all messy and if you brush my hairs it goes all frizzy and dry what can i do to detangle my hairs?
Great q! That is when people usually do a refresh, with a spray or wet the hair and do a lighter routine. Tbh I usually put my hair up lol
i think i have wavy hair, but I got a perm to make it straight, and now it’s kinda growing out weirdly 😅 any tips on what to do?
Scrunch the permed ends with moose or wax to make it blend with your wavy hair
But poofy hair adds volume to the hair and after using gel it looks thinner with much less volume..im stuck between what to do 😂😭😑
lolll a lot of people diffuse to get volume when styling and you can also do it upside down for a better effect! I just comb my hair UP but I've also seen people say clipping it to dry works too. Might be worth a try.
@@MatchaMaddie ok I'll give it a try! Thank you
Any tips on handling the waves after you sleep with them? And also keeping down the frizz the next day😅
Yes, try the pineapple bun. And sleep with a satin bonnet or get a satin pillow case. Hope this helps!
You can also try refreshing your hair the next day. Add water with a little leave in conditioner in the hair and use a little mouse and scrunch to get more waves but don't scrunch too much
yes honestly i usually just sleep with my hair up so my head isn't laying on it if that makes sense lol and ofc u can refresh the next day but I usually just skip it. All depends on what u need!
Thankuu, but may i ask what haircut do u have in this video?
Thank u! I cut my own butterfly/wolf cut! Here's the video when I walk through it: czcams.com/video/e2C9G3gHq0k/video.html
Whqt about broken and baby hair that looks like crown?? How do you fix it?
I'm not sure since I haven't worked with that really. Maybe try one of those fly away gels/balms?
I can’t tell if I have wavy hair or not because my hair is sorta poofy but I just don’t know
Maybe! Give this a try and even without product, you can try clarify shampoo, deep condition, then scrunch your hair and see if any patterns come up
HOW DO WE HAVE THE SAME HAIR TYPE?! I’m Asian as well, and my hair when wet looks and behaves just like yours! I’m so sad that they don’t sell that product where I live! 😭
HAHA hello twin! our hair type is so overlooked lol spent my whole life thinking something was just wrong. hopefully u find something that works!!
@@MatchaMaddie thank you! I’m just glad I’m not alone!
Was that water in the spray or sth else?
Also suffering bc the gel serum isnt available where i live💔🥹
Just water! And omgggg nooo. I would try a light mousse if u can then 🥹
does it work on short bob
im not sure but could be worth a try!
you know it's getting serious when u stand up 😭
