In an less numbers focused sense the mutalith completely paid for itself. Being able to soak up fire and not being made irrelevant until the final stage of the battle, as well as warding off the opponent's beatstick is something else. Even if the gold value wasn't all the way, it was more than worth the cost.
Thats one issue I have with turin, sometimes he unfairly treats units just cause their damage value was not high completely forgetting the context of what the unit actually did during the battle. I remember one where a steam tank held up I think their lord, hero and another thing and cause it did not "Pay for itself" in damage value he called it not very good when it was a deciding factor in what won the game. It feels like sometimes he forgets that units are there for more than dealing damage and the fact it took away tons of the archers damage value because they only really focused it and did not use their ammo on say the manticore, festus or other low armour units/high prio units in the battle meant it got tons of value just by existing.
Also if it was not there and it was perhaps more chosen then the archers could have been able to be used to defend the side objectives against anything light but due to the mutalith they HAD to keep it in check and save their ammo for it otherwise it could just mortis everything easily.
I think that opening play with Louen was really clever. Sure the Mutalith came over to punish him, but that was great because the archers were in position to counter the Mutalith as soon as it arrived, so he baited it out.
The Mutalith is such a menace to Brets since it devours knights with basic support and can't be dragged down in mass melee thanks to the AoE damage, so they really have little choice but to devote all their shooting to it until it dies. That may cost it value in kills, but that's a LOT of arrows not hitting your other point-holding units.
That thunderbolt spell is MVP for me in campaigns. . It's cheap and does great dmg to hordes of infantry. It also seems to do decent dmg on Monstrous infantry too.
The real question is why the Mutalith, a true aberation from the demonic void isnt 1. unbreakable ? 2.demonic ? 3. doesnt have 20% phys resis 4.doesnt have at least 30% missile resis ? I really love this unit, dont forget it also buffs the MA in aoe but it lack some of this stuff to be really strong. Look at the incarnate, 20 less armor but +200 damage and 20% phys... i mean, why is the mutalith not stronger ? It's a twisted creation from the void, born and breed to anihilate
Is there a reason why turnin never features domination games with Skaven? Is it because they are just not a good faction for domination or by coincidence none of the top players in Total Tavern enjoy the faction?
The power creep is so brutal CA has to price the units so expensive at this point entire multiplayer armies are smaller now than the nerfed garrisons in singleplayer.
The beast almost paid for itself but it draw so much attention from the archers and was active for the entire battle, probably very worth it
That beast may not have paid for itself, but it did draw a lot of fire.
Also protected from lord snipes
@@jakubstachurski2298 It ate like 85% of the entire Bretonnian ranged damage!

When i grow up I want to be a mutalith vortex beast
I can feel the warp overtaking me... It is a good pain.
I want to be Turin
AND SOO YOU SHALL! czcams.com/video/t7HD2xG92-0/video.html

The Slaneesh Sorcerer was cute, but i still would have preferred Fleshy Abundance for the Burst Healing in Situations like 9:40 with the Severed Claw

600 damage right on top of your head from the f0king skies - is a no joke even for trolls and other kroxigors))
Turin always posting great content. My day has been blessed by Sigmar's heir himself.
It was weird to me that there was no grail reliquae for Bretonnia. Seems like that could have been useful in some of the blob fights.
should've brought those grail knights my boy
Yeah the big beasty definitely ate all the arrows and aggro for Festus. MVP
So happy to see the true bretonnian again.
Boring
Ironic, the moment bretonnia runs out of ammo it lost.
Kehe. Any good bretonnian player knows, the knights always get carried by the peasants 😊
With how sparingly the spells were used for the passives, actual buff/debuff spells would have given better results.
Beast was MVP. Had 4-5 units of archers spending their entire ammunition on it, basically rendering them useless.
BRETONNIA BABY, LET'S GO!!!
Freakin' love the new Tzeentch units. Such bangers!
Only way il buy a new dlc is they added matched combat for lords and titanic beasts
Would love to see a Master Necromancer game sometime
Consider adding a build deck section to your website turin Im too old for that discord stuff

it very much could/should have all this things, but it would cost twice as much... I´d say that being less" lore friendly" is for the best
Because it’s actually just a massive Chaos Spawn, not a proper Daemon.
I do not think its demonic lore-wise, so it should have demonic abilities in game. Just like chaos spawn or forsaken do not and should not have them.
It should be demonic/get the 20% resist but it def shouldn’t get 30% missile resist.
It's not demon, it's a big chaos spawn, I don't know how people came to the conclusion it is a demon.
Hey Turin, big fan here. How do you download those cool MP maps?
Total Tavern Tournament map pack in workshop!
this map rocks

Always sad when the Brets lose.
Too many foot squires = the lack of true bretonian power. Ze knights((
Chaos warriors used to be one of the worst factions and now they are one of the best.

Mutalith is op in campaign, double mortis engine (one is conditional). The RoR is awful for some reason
