    I think the goblin shaman hero is slept on after people got so used to Wurrzag. He's a dirt cheap character with stalk and a forbidden rod, and vindictive glare is a fantastic character sniping spell.

    Grimgor should get a heal that cranks up with the more kills he has or something and he has to be fighting to activate it. Considering this is the guy who is probably the greatest fighter in the entire warhammer world (with the exception of Archaon's instant "i win" card) and essentially emptied hell pit of all its horrors by killing them, he should have something to keep him going

    • @ReynaldRam
      @ReynaldRam Před 6 měsíci +29

      I think gradually increasing ward save, melee att and def as long he's in melee would be more thematic for him

    • @climax050
      @climax050 Před 6 měsíci +10

      @@ReynaldRam this is a better idea you're right, healing doesn't really make sense but a scaling % of a ward save with melee defense and attack is much more thematic for him to just keep truckin

    • @nicholasbarber8531
      @nicholasbarber8531 Před 4 měsíci

      You could also give him a heal/buffs based on how outmatched he is (since he does seek out the 'ardest fights). That way trying to focus him down would largely be a fools errand. So you can either give him a fair fight, which Grimgor will probably win, or just try and not fight around him and take out his army (which seems like a good thematic place for him).
      Of course that would make him all the more vulnerable to being kited, which I think makes sense for an incredible fighter who is mostly dumb as a post (yes I know he isn't bad for an orc, but that isn't a high bar to clear).

      where can i learn about warhammer lore

    • @nicholasbarber8531
      @nicholasbarber8531 Před 4 měsíci

      The main sources for lore are army books and novels, but honestly I would recommend the warhammer wiki. It is a really accessible way to look up a character you are interested in, and then wiki crawl to learn more about things you haven't seen yet. (Vlad Von Carstein is a great candidate for this. He has a history.)
      Do note that, although this is not as bad as it is in WH40K, Warhammer lore tends to make out whichever faction it is currently talking about as being nigh-invincible and the coolest, which becomes confusing when you start seeing contradictory statements. The moral here is to be aware that this setting was not made to be consistent. @@michaeld9806

    Even though you lost, I genuinely wouldn't diminish the value of chasing Festus away for a little bit. Every second he's running from an attempt to flatten him is a second he's not positioning for heals of mortis. Same for the rout time. I think the issue here was A, that lengthy period of time where the giant on the left was just standing around not doing anything, B, insufficient pressure on the lane when you weren't able to dominate the flank, and C that so much value was tied up in the giants to begin with against a guaranteed severed claw. You played really well, though. You always do. And I really do recognize that in the moment things are very different from observing in hindsight. I think the goblin wolf riders were an inspired choice, considering how well they can shut down the horsemen. They'd also probably be good as a blocking tool against monstrous infantry and foot lords. Ultimately, it was really cool to see a tall greenskin build with Grimgor especially, even if the strategy needs some refining. Thanks for the video!

    • @lucasrivero8432
      @lucasrivero8432 Před 6 měsíci +5

      Yeah I think two giants is really risky considering severed claw is so good. I think something as well that can make goblin wolf riders good is to have some daka. Orc archers are really good for Green skins! Especially if you are going to have really aggressive early pressure just 1 or 2 can really fluidly help you get that extra damage and leadership debuff where you need it and can supplement the lack of armor piecing greenskins have and the lack of single target/ anti large damage that they have.

    I never see anyone take Grimgors armour in mp. It has an unlimited use AoE damage ability that recharges in combat. The damage is low but it really helps him clear out light to medium infantry much faster since it recharges every 30 seconds if he's in combat.

    For grimgore, you could have a similar thing to his banner in campaign- The Immortals. Where he can’t be damaged once’s he gets to half health unless his moral drops below a certain amount. I think that would stay within flavour of grimgore. Oooooor maybe just make him unbreakable? 🤔

    Grimgor could get a bit of healing based on how much damage he does, in increments.
    Think Tomb Kings passive but just for him, once at 500 value, then 1000, then 1500.
    This would also incentivize Grimgor to go after high value targets, which is kinda his whole shtick.

    The list of worthwhile non-caster foot lords with actual foot lord's mobility just isn't that long. It's like just Sigvald and Lokhir Fellheart. Those two are fine because their job is to sit in a point while being impossible to kill. Any lord that's designed to just hit things to death and is too slow to pick it's own fights just doesn't work. Characters like Grimgor, Queek and Hellebron need to be either cheap or bring the kind of utility that makes them a nightmare in blob fights where mobility doesn't matter.

    12:45 Why not just make him hit harder? Health increased by 33% in the move to game 3 and healing being stronger is partially the result of time to kill being significantly longer. For Duelists to be viable picks they need to be extremely effective combatants for the price which isn't particularly common. +100 WS and buffing Gitsnik to be in line with current buffs (so +75% WS for the active at least) would make Grimgor genuinely threatening unlike the current stat where he's easy enough to heal through.

    @worstprofessor895 Před 6 měsíci

    I don't know if we want to slap healing on every foot character. Watching regenerating foot characters RNG each other to death is not peak Total War gameplay. I think a cost reduction would be better.
    One issue with Grimgor is his base cost is 200 more than Sigvald and Vlad. He doesn't impact the fight around him enough, his 45 melee defense renders him vulnerable to AP surrounds, and his 75 leadership is low compared to some of other viable foot options. Grombrindal and Ungrim have unbreakable. Foot Morathi and foot Azhag have good aura abilities. Foot Noctilus has regen and built-in summons. Grombrindal has smoke bomb, while Aranessa and Markus have nets. Some of these foot lords can also cast spells.
    I think he would have a better niche as scary foot lord you don't want to fight if he were 100 or 200 cheaper. Either that or maybe change one of his leadership abilities to do more than stop the lads from routing for 18-24 seconds.

    I feel a bit out of place saying this here but i've been angry about this for a while: black orcs, bestigors, temple guard and some other elite infantry i'm not thinking of need buffs. TW3 was created adding demonic factions and making them strong, so when tw2 factions came along a lot of their units couldn't survive, for example the elite infantry. I feel like all of these tw2 factions should inherently have better infantry for a variety of reasons and they don't, but even if I didn't believe that their units in terms of lore surpass others, i would still ask for buffs, because for elite infantry they are fairly pathetic stat wise, you are telling me that they can have stats within the 30s and 40s, when elite chorf infantry are in the 70s? And when you take lore and looks into account its even worse.

    Let's face it, the reason the Vortex Beast hadn't been nerfed is because (as CA recently announced) they are adding more content to SoC. So they want it to still be OP when that comes out in Feb to encourage more sales.
    On tabletop it was a garbage tier monster. The mortis engine style effect I can get behind as it is the closest approximation of it's effects that exist in the game, but it is a terrible fighter. It should have relatively poor combat stats for a monster and there shouldn't be a bonus vs large anywhere near it's statblock. The only justification for it's melee prowess is cynical power creep fueled by greed.
