- In this video we’ll look at using Maya 2020 Retopologize and Remesh operations to fix a hard surface object. These operations are now available through the menus instead of the command line and are great for speeding up the clean up objects. If you’re looking for a more detailed understanding of the settings I’d recommend checking out the documentation.

Tip: edge softness/hardness is taken into account and will give a sharper result the harder they are.
Found the feature 2 days ago and it's really a great handy tool. Thanks for showing these in depth Methods. Thank you Sir. ♡

Great tutorial. Thank you :)
This video is so good, how does it only have 633 views! Do you need to remesh before retopo?
@snaplaunch How did you get your viewport lighting to look like that?

How can I make the Maya with retopo have a symmetry in X?
I did the automatic retopology, the same way it was bad, he messed up, it seemed that I sculpted it, the topology is messy, unbalanced on one side, it didn't work

Melted ice cream! Delicious 🤣
I'm sorry to ask but I still don't understand why Hard surface models like buildings or furniture need retopologizing, could you explain it, please?
No le creooooo, entre más días simplifican aún más el trabajo de modelado.
when I use poly remesh, maya aplly an absurdly high amount of triangular polygons. Even setting Max Edge Length to 1.5.
still bad... the auto retopo in maya is just plain bad...
