I never go out, always stuck at home bored specially on weekends plus I have no friends. Now that I've watched this video I've realized from how much fun I've been missing out from. I'm only 2 hours away from the beach so I will be give fishing a try soon.

@@joefosho714 this fish doesn't trip you out unlike the real Salema from Portugal. This Salema however is a different species so you can eat it without tripping out.

Caught one of those lizard fish along with 3 mackerels whit that same lure you use at Santa Monica I had the same reaction, I was like...what? Can I eat it? Didn’t know but I still did they were good!! :) good content I wanna hit this spot.

Use to fish this pier when I was a kid and moved to Pennsylvania and I fly fish and bass fish most of the time now, I go to ocean city,md every other year and fish. one day I’ll be back to the hb pier to fish😁

I need yo fish there dude i want to try the gulp minnow to catch sand bass like I do here in imperial beach
not sure if those were blacksmith perch or Blue perch( also called halfmoon perch) but leaning towards blue. Catch them at Catalina all the time when on the boat. They taste good. We usually grill them. They get super chunky and big there though and put up a crazy fight

I just went to Huntington pier yesterday, and all I caught was a mackerel. We chopped it up and used it for bait, but it still didn’t work. What bait do you use?
Mackerel lol you can use squid and shrimp too
The best bait for those big croaker are tiny mussels that still have soft shells...get them around the inlets ..

3 oz. weight - Yes right down below - I go all the way to the bottom and halfway up sometimes

Marlon M Get a 4000FE Reel with a Scimitar rod and throw some 20lb braid on there and go to town! Lol if you hook something over 50lbs you might have trouble. But that will get you through! Cheap too ~$80-90

I caught the sand bass on a hook with some cut up mackerel on it. I use a hook and sinker and just put some bait on and throw it out deep.

What kind of rod & reel is that? I just starting fishing at this pier recently and I catch a bunch of Mack’s but my rod & reel struggles when bringing the fishing up from the water and yours comes up like nothing 😭😭 (bought my rod & reel at Walmart Just started fishing 2months ago)
