Great stuff, as usual! Some vintage Foo Fighters always hits the spot! I mean, I've never listened so much to their (or, rather, Dave's) first album, and yet, every time I listen, I just feel "this is fckng cool"! Really versatile pedal, it would be a perfect tool for the studio or for a session guitarist.
The original 385 is one of my favourite dirt boxes. It's incredibly dynamic & has so much texture. Looking forward to giving this a spin. Lovely stuff as always mate.
How much of an improvement is this when compared to the original? I have the older version and it’s almost the only gain pedal I use at the moment. Worth the upgrade you think?
Ah I haven’t tried the old one unfortunately. But differences are top mounted jacks, the 385+ is an extra gain stage which does make a big difference and you effectively get two channels with this one, with independent gain/vol controls so it’s got way more features than the original imo - hope that helps!

I love this pedal!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOO WEARY of ANY STOMP BOX with those silver switches! Every single one ive had has died on me! BOSS are the only ones that hold up for me! Then again... I messed up my Chorus one a lil bit while I drunkenly smashed and exes Guieetar one night! Guess I played for it!!🤷♂️🤷♂️💁♂️💁♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ She ripped my soul out though
Well it has 2 channels and the added gain switch. It seems like it goes beyond the spirit of the original "film projector" pedal by using the basic idea to turn out a more generic drive/fuzz pedal. It doesn't seem to connect much to that trope. Why did they even bother to use the 385 as the basis for this pedal? Still, it sounds pretty great.

Yep and thinking about some of the music I’ve gotten into as I’ve gotten older I love the shoegaze/fuzzy vibe of the song.
