  • This helpful art tutorial will demonstrate how to sculpt better animal heads. The information in this how-to video is simple and easy to follow along for all learning levels, from the beginner sculptor in ceramics to the more seasoned sculptor wanting to advance their skills. You will learn helpful tips for sculpting better faces and facial features of animals, such as eyes, ears, mouths, and the general face shape. I will also demonstrate and explain some common sculpting fails when it comes to creating more realistic sculptures. From this tutorial, you will gain insights and processes for making impressive sculptures of animals. Throughout this video, you'll watch me demonstrate how to sculpt a fox, but if you skip ahead to the last quarter of the video, I will speed sculpt a bear, cat, and fish as well. You are encouraged to follow along with me, or watch it and then reference as necessary! From this video, you will learn a bullet-proof process that I have taught to hundreds of students who have found success with it!
    This tutorial will teach you:
    - common mistakes in sculpting animal faces
    - preparation materials
    - processes that work for all animals
    - how to sculpt individual features of the face (eyes, ears, nose, and mouth)
Do you have any questions? Anything you need clarified? Ask me in the comments! I ALWAYS answer your comments. No lame hearts and ignoring comments from this guy.

I get 2 minutes in and I realize I shouldn’t have been focusing almost entirely on the forward-facing angle 😂. Thanks for the informative video, hope that implanting this advice will help :)

    • @TheArtMentor

I just use simple porcelain clay with grogg. Pretty basic stuff. And sure, you can paint it with acrylics afterwards once it’s been fired first 👍 any other questions?
