My pair just arrived today, the package is still sitting in the hallway waiting to be unboxed. I'm going to make this a real cliffhanger for me, defer the unboxing til tomorrow, oh, it's like waiting for Christmas as a child... :)
I hope you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras! I'm still loving mine and I've put another 40 miles into them since the race, great shoe 👌 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Mate that's incredible! What a first impressions video! 80 miles for a first run has to be a new record for nearly everyone who has ever used a new pIr of shoes 😂 I thought I was mental doing 20 miles in a new pair of shoes and ended up with pretty bad blisters from it haha! Looking forward to the serpent trail 50K hopefully see you there Loyd! 👍🏻
Thanks Aaron and great to meet you at the Serpent trail 👍 I really wasn't expecting to run that kind of distance in them but they just felt so comfortable. A looped race is actually a really good place to test out new shoes because I was only ever 5 miles away from a shoe change 😊 Thanks for watching and all the support mate, its really appreciated 🙏
Well done Loyd! I've been running in my pair for about two weeks and other than them digging into my ankles a bit for the first few runs they have been just stonkingly good. I've bought all of the "super" trail shoes over the last 24 months for my long-distance runs and these are a joy to run in, topping all the competition
I'm currently trying them around the house (just arriving and deciding whether to keep them), and my only complaint is that they dig into my ankles a bit, so it's good to hear that this resolved for you, as otherwise they feel pretty amazing!
That's great to hear Brain, really glad you're enjoying them as well. I've heard a few runners mention the ankle collar needs time to bed in, I didn't have any issues with it but everyone's different 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Very late to the party, but I just picked up a pair of these, as my Speedgoat 5's are coming to the end of their life, and not very happy with the reviews of the Speedgoat 6. Can't wait to get them out on the trails!
Well done Lloyd. Saucony really nailed it with this shoe. The PowerRun Plus sock liner really pulls it all together. I did a 25k training run in the Xodus Ultra right out of the box. Never touched the shoe.... wife and I are training for our first 6hour and this is going to be what I use for it.
Thanks Travis 👍 Really glad to hear you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras and you're right about the great sock liner! 👌 Best of luck with your 6hr event and thanks for watching 🙏😊
Great format for a video, worked really well, kudos on that distance in a new show. Would be interested in a V's Salomon Ultraglide and Speedgoat when you do your full review of the Xodus
Thanks Clive, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. They'll definitely be some comparison videos with the Xodus Ultra but it's going to take some shoe to beat it! 🤔 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great going with the race 👏 Been looking forward to this review. It didn't disappoint. Can't really argue with 80 miles out the box. I've thrown pretty much everything the UK has to offer at them and they've been up to it: SWCP, Quantocks and Black Mountains. I found them good in the wet , muddy and rocky. Only minor gripe, same as a few others was rubbing on the ankle bones on steep down hills. But that went pretty soon. These will definitely be worn for Lakeland. Looking forward to the in-depth review. Cheers Lloyd 👍👍
Thanks very much 👍 I've heard a few people say about the ankle collar but I haven't had any rubbing of any kind? Best of luck at Lakeland and thanks for watching 🙏😊
Loyd, your videos are great, you're so full of energy and silliness! Thanks. Just snagged a pair of Saucony Xodus Ultra for £80 (Noice!!). See you at the Salomon Serpent 50k
Wow! 80 miles / 24hrs out the box, I bet even Saucony would be surprised to hear that, my longest was 22 in Altra LP5 😳 And no runners lace lock needed, if you ever use it? Awesome run though Loyd, your body and mind are in great shape leading into July and you must feel super happy with how training is going. Fantastic!
Cheers Paul 👍 It's great to feel like I've got some fitness back finally and I'm feeling a lot more confident about the TDS! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks for expanding on the width and height of the toe box. That's very important to me. This was not only an informative review, but also an exciting one too. Thanks for the video my Running Mate!!!
It sure was Greg, I really wasn't expecting it! 😲 It just felt so comfortable on, there was no point in changing shoes. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great video, I grabbed a nicely discounted pair now the 2nd version is out. I'm doing Endure24 Leeds this year and I had seen your Endure video, glad I did, have just done 27 miles in them out the box, mix of road and trails and they felt fantastic. Cheers for the excellent content!
Cheers mate 👍 It really does feel good to be running the longer stuff again. It's given me a lot of confidence when it comes to the TDS, I can't wait to get out in the mountains 🏃♂️⛰️ Thanks for watching and supporting the channel mate, hope you're fit and well 😊
It's a pretty impressive performance from the shoes Tolunay 👌 I really didn't expect to run 80 miles in them and I'd of been happy with a couple of Laps! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Good evenning Run4adventure and all the runners. Excellent and helpful video, Loyd. Here is my like. I like Saucony Xodus ultra. A nice week for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️⛰
Yet another great video, Loyd. Wow! 😲 80 miles out of the box - amazing!! Looking forward to the Endure24 video too - keep up the great work, pal. 👍🏼 Andy. 👊🏻
Thanks Andy, that's really appreciated! I know, it's a bit crazy and definitely wasn't expecting that sort of distance 😲 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
Wow - how impressive was that for a first review. I have a pair of Peregrine ISO’s which are great for short distances in wet muddy conditions. However I need something with more cushioning to take on longer runs and that will also perform on tarmac as well as trails. Sounds as if I definitely need to be taking a closer look at the Exodus Ultra!
Yes Roger, that was my first ever run in the Xodus! I couldn't believe it myself, they just felt so good on I didn't want to change them 👍 It's a very good shoe Roger, definitely worth a closer look. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
No I haven’t at the moment. Still a shoe I am looking at but waiting for some discounted shoes to become available. I have purchased a couple of other ‘off road’ shoes which were very competitively priced (Reebok FE4 Adventure & Under Armour Bandit Trail 2) but they are not direct equivalents to the Exodus Ultra.
Really glad you enjoyed the new intro Kenny! It took Liga hours and hours to put it together but I think it looks great 👌 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great job !! I just got a pair last week - ran a 9 mile technical trail race and loved them. Got a 50k next month and the fit and comfort of this shoe may work better for me than my Speedgoat 5. I think my longest run in a new shoe is about 12 miles- so 80 is wild. Don’t think I could run 80 miles !
Of course you could Alan, if you really wanted to 😊 It's good to hear that your enjoying your Xodus Ultras. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks Loyd, these could be the ones to take me to my first trail ultra 55k as a mv 65 in June 2023🤞As always a great and informative review, best wishes Mark
It's a great shoe for distance Mark! I've put another 40 miles into the Xodus Ultra since the race and it's still feeling great 👌 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great review. Loving mine after 80km. Unlike the Speedgoat 5's they are lace up and run, no faffing at all. Going to be using mine on the Lakeland 50 next month
I totally agree, just put them on and go running! 👌 Really glad you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras as well and best if luck at Lakeland 50 💪 Thanks for watching 🙏
Big fan of past versions of the Xodus. Probably a top two shoe for me along with the Speed Goats. I run on some very rocky terrain quite often and I enjoy the extra level of protection over the Peregrines which I also quite like. Glad to hear they haven't dropped the ball on the latest revamp!
It's a great update! If you enjoy the previous version, you'll love the new one 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Great review Loyd. I did Reading about 5 years ago in a team of 5. Planning on doing it next year solo - and reckon I’ll be having the Xodus Ultra on my feet.
It's an awesome event Wes 👍 I'd definitely go back and run it again, maybe race it next time and see how far I can get 🤔 The Xodus Ultra is a really good distance shoe, that's for sure! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
I took mine out for their first run today. Loved the cushioning but I did find the shoe struggled on small technical trails. I felt like I was rolling over the edges of the shoe. It’s not going to replace the Innov8 G300s for Quantock trails but the comfort is going to be great for ultras.
Thanks very much 👍 Mine are wearing well so far and I've run a big mix of different terrains in them. I'll be doing a full review on the Xodus Ultra once I've run 150 miles in them 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Wow! I've been waiting for Saucony to bring out something new after my nightmare with the durability of the Peregrine 12. Meanwhile I've tried the Brooks Cascadia and Altra Lonepeaks, neither of which have converted me. I had my eyes on VK Ultras next but that's now been trumped after watching this video. Good work Lloyd as usual.
It's such a shame you had issues with your Peregrines Marc! I'm glad Saucony sorted it out for you 😊 I've put another 50 miles into my Xodus Ultras since the event and it's still going strong and feeling very comfortable 👌 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
another good review and a good shoes but problem is when will they arrive in my country hahaha only Salomon Ultra Glides are available ATM but it's so expensive 180$ USD .. my 1st 30k Trail Run will be on July 24th haha .. if i can't find any alternatives maybe ill just buy the Salomons UG ..
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed the video. That's a shame they're not available in your country at the moment 😔 To be fair, the Ultra Glide is still a really good trail shoe! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Great review as always! My only gripe has been they’ve haven’t handled wet rocks/roots well here in Vermont. Hoping that might improve as the outsole wears a bit.
I'm really surprised at that Chris. Obviously I'm based in the UK and the PWRTRAC outsole is always brilliant in wet rocky conditions. To be fair there's not many shoes that can handle wet wood or roots! 😲 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
80 miles?? alright Loyd, so training for UTMB is on course i guess! mega! looking forward to that race-video! i've been looking at the Pulsar Trail for a long distance trail shoe, but now i guess you'd prefer the Xodus? are they even compareable?
Thanks Ozenfant, I'm definitely heading in the right direction now. The 80 miles has given me a lot of confidence as I head towards the TDS. I would personally go for the Xodus Ultra if I had to pick one. There's a bit more structure and substance to the upper and that makes it a lot more comfortable over distance 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for all your amazing support 🙏😊
I think it would be a great shoe for that type of terrain and distance Craig. I'm pretty sure they'll be on my feet at the TDS 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
After just one trail run of about 10 miles, the treads/lugs are already chipping and chunking off. The run was a trail running/mountain biking trail with some rocky sections, but a lot of dust and sand too. I do not recommend these for rocky terrain at all, but other than the poor durability of the outsole they feel fantastic. Mid sole is a 10/10.
Thanks very much 👍 You never know Peter, you might be in the full race day video! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure if you need a spare usb battery for your hm65rt let me know I have a spare one as I got 2, one came with my endure purchase couple of years ago before covid shut everything down, then Jamie gifted me another last year at Henley.
O.k 10 years and more I use the Xodus family . I am the most familiar person with the Xodus alterations over time. What the make better ? To return to firm rubbery external sole . The outer sole has become more and more mushy which is a shame . Solomon do their field running shoes with mushy soft rubber which is unstable and a bad thing. I wish secouny wil make external rubber soles that are on the firm side to isolate from the ground and a bouncy middle sole . Together you get the best shoes ever . The first Xodus did it with firm rubbery vibram outer soles. So outer layer should isolate and be thick rubbery and firm not mushy and then the middle sole should be bouncy taking vibrations out . And you get the best shoes ever.
Toss up between these and a pair of cloudultras as long term ultra shoes ( done a 52k in cloudstratus on 3rd run out the box with zero issues , hence the cloud ultra in the mix ) - food for thought!
I'm not a lover of On shoes if I'm honest Nathan. It sounds like they work well for you so the Cloud ultras might be your best choice🤔 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks for the review! Have been waiting for this one and it is high on my buy list now. Congrats for the 80 miles! Great work! Should we expect a battle off between this shoe and the SG5 and Ultra Glide?
Thanks Naim, really glad you enjoyed the video 👍 The race went well but I never expected to run the whole 24hrs in the Xodus! There could be a head to head featuring a few different shoes coming yo the channel soon. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great video!! I've got some coming for an upcoming 100 mile Ultra. Will only be wearing them for half though so great to know they should hold up for 50 miles without much breaking in. Size wise, I usually go ½ size bigger in all my running shoes, would you say the Xodus Ultras are true to size as I've read that the toe box is slightly larger? Cheers 👍🏻
They're both great shoes for that but I'd go for the Xodus Ultra. It fits my foot shape beeter and I find it so comfortable for the long stuff! Hope this helps Michael, thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
It's a great shoe Marko! Has to be the most comfortable new shoe I've ever worn. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
I have had these for a few months now. Honestly these might be top 3 shoes of all time. Saucony needs to keep the midsole platform and not screw it up. Nothing is close to this for me, the only thing that has been wierd is occasionally on down hill parts my toes end up on top of the carrier foam and I notice it. Doesn't really impact performance by sometimes my toes feel like they are on a shelf above my foot. It's just distracting.
The Xodus Ultra is a great trail shoe, has to be in my top 3 of all time as well 👌 Really glad you're enjoying yours and thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
Love the video, your narrow foot was securely held which tells me this is a narrow shoe. I need some width so I think it's a no go for me. Keep it up Lloyd, great job
I usually run in men's wide fit shoes (I have what can only be described as duck feet!), but these feel easily as wide to me. I wouldn't necessarily discount them as too narrow until you've tried them on.
Thanks Neal, glad you enjoyed the video. I'd say my footshape is more average width than narrow. The toe box does have pretty good volume but I wouldn't say it's a wide shoe. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure can you please tell if it has more width than the Peregrine 10 ? Peregrine 10 was a bit tight, even if I only used it for the shorter stuff
Glad you are enjoying the Xodus Ultras Ray. Wow, the Moab 240! Definitely one of my bucket list races. I hope it goes really well and you enjoy your adventure, let me know how you get on 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
Hi Loyd, always appreciate your advice. I’ve got some he Hardmoors 60 coming up in September and have had Peregrines for the last few years on my trail runs. Do you think I’d be better in the Xodus as opposed to getting the new Peregrine 12’s. Thanks in advance 👍🏻
I love all 4 pairs of my peregrines 10s but I just might have to buy these. These would a great shoe for my 100k in December (I did it last year and my Garmin said 70 miles). Thanks!
If you like the Peregrine 10's Joseph, you'll love the Xodus Ultra! I think it would be a great shoe for your 100k! Best of luck with your training and thanks for watching 🙏😊
I will try these out in the coming week at the shop. I totally love the Akasha, but it is impossible to get a new pair in my size. Don't know why La Sportiva has got so much trouble with production. Well, they are Italians so.. 🤷♂️😆 So I am very interested in these Saucony. I guess these are the ones for you at TDS? How is the wear on the outsoles? How many miles have you run un them now?
Intrigued to know how the Exodus will hold up in more mountainous technical terrain... currently considering the Scarpa Spin Infinity... I have the Saucony Peregrine & Scarpa Spin Ultra in my current rotation and am really happy with both in pretty much any conditions but haven't taken either much beyond marathon distance yet... trying to decide on a 60km mtn ultra shoe for September. Congratulations on an awesome run bytw!
I'm planning on using it for the TDS in August and I think it will run really well in those conditions Craig. If you've run the Peregrines in the mountains before then the Xodus should handle them just as well 😊 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
@@Run4Adventure Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work with the channel! Managed to try a pair of the Xodus Ultra but unfortunately the fit isn't so great for me, bit too much room/width up front so felt sloshy...
@Run4Adventure How is the upper of the Xodus Ultra compare to the Peregrine? I think if the Saucony Peregrine (10) and Speedgoat (5) had a love child it would be my favorite shoe (Peregrine upper with Speedgoat midsole).
Glad you enjoyed the video Ambarish. I'll definitely be doing a full review of the Xodus Ultra once I've got some more miles in! 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
It's a great shoe Alex, especially for long distance. Unfortunately I haven't run the Ben Nevis ultra so it's hard to say? 🤔 Sorry I can't be of more help, thanks for watching 🙏
Ah, so that was your secret! I was wearing my 'definitely seen better days' Speedgoat 4s. Had I known about the super shoes, I might have made 80miles instead of just 75 🤣 I can't think of my longest run in new shoes, might have done 20km in a pair. Little One is itching to see your E24 film. (no pressure 😁 )
The shoes definitely helped a lot Ian because they were so comfortable the whole way round. Hope your bady has recovered and it was great to meet you and your lovely family at the race 😊 Thanks for all the support, it's really appreciated 🙏😊
Likewise Loyd. I haven't been able to see these comments as my laptop broke but it's fixed now. Commented on the E24 clip in a bit more detail but I have kind of recovered. My hamstring/quad went very tight on a training run last week and I have The Plague in a few days, eek!
Hi, enjoyed your review and I'm going to search through your channel to see if you have updated anything about the shoe. I normally run in Hoka Speedgoats, currently the 5's, but I might have to look into this shoe for my next 100. My reasoning being that the tongue on the 5's literally dug a hole in the tops of both feet during a very technical race recently (72 miles) and I don't think I can tolerate that shoe for my next 100 mile race. How is the tongue on the Xodus? Any how do they stand up to the the Speedgoat 5's? Thanks for any help in this! Oh, I ran a short 3 miles in the Speedgoat 3's before running a 100 miler in them! They were my favorite version of the Speedgoats but of course Hoka can't leave a good shoe alone. Thanks again!
I loved the Speedgoat 3's, one of the best trail shoes I've run in! 👌 There is another review video of the Xodus Ultra on the channel. The shoes are still performing really well and they have run as well as the SG3's for me, great shoe 😊 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
I don't have a wide foot Robin and it fits me really well. I'd say the width is average but it really depends how narrow your feet are? Thanks for watching 🙏😊
Wow very impressive 80miles for a first run in the Xodus. I'm now wandering if I should get these trainers or stick with pedigrine. At present I have pedigrine 10 and they have seen better days. Really enjoy your reviews. What other trail trainers would suggest other than saucney?
Thanks Trevor, glad you enjoyed the video. The Peregrine 10's were a great shoe and I'd say if you've enjoyed running in them, then you'd like the Xodus Ultra 👍 The Salomon Ultra Glide is a nice shoe and it's definitely worth checking out some of the Hoka trail offerings. Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure Thanks so much for replying, salomon Ultra glide was another which impressed me when you reviewed them. Will be checking them out as well Hoka. Thanks for the feed back and really enjoying your channel
How does the Xodus compare to the Peregrine 12s? My current trail shoes are the P12s and I'm loving them, even more than the SG5s. Also which scenarios would you choose the Xodus over the P12s, and which shoe would you recommend if you could choose one?
The Xodus is just like a deeper cushioned Peregrine 12 👍 Without a doubt the Xodus handles distance a lot better than the Peregrine. It's got PWRRUN PB in the midsole so it very comfortable on your longer runs 👍 Hope this helps Justin and thanks for watching 🙏
The level of comfort on tarmac is brilliant and traction is great in the wet. Unfortunately you would wear the lugs down quicker if you road the shoe on the road a lot, like you would with any trail shoe 👍 Hope this helps Amanda and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure thanks for replying so quickly. That’s really helpful. Yeah I accept the wearing down thing I’m not yet doing v long distance so we are only talking a few miles per run. It’s just that I used my Peregrins on an 11 miler which had some hard packed gravel and tarmac sections which is quite typical of a weekend run and my legs really struggled with the lack of cushion. The other options for a cushioned road to trail/crossover I guess are HOKA challenger but I’ve heard the traction isn’t great, could I guess tey Speedgoat? However….I’ve not ran in HOKA’s as all my shoes are Saucony which seem to suit my feet. So for a crossover what would you buy/wear? Would really value your opinion. I’ve found a pair of EXODUS ultras second hand with hardly any miles on them for £60 that I could buy. I’m out of work so need to be very discerning about my choices
@@amandaball7116 The Hoka Challenger isn't a great shoe, you'd really struggle with grip and traction going into winter! If you can get a pair of Xodus Ultras for £60 I'd snap them up. The Xodus would run way more comfortable on the hard stuff compared to your Peregrine, it's a great shoe 👌
Did you find that these fit big? I've never experienced this before in my 10.5 US size but my right foot has some ankle lift and there seems to be lots of extra room in the toes. I actually have to size up to 11 on occasion as my one foot is bigger than the other....so I'm not sure what the issue is here.
That's exactly how it feels Stu 👍 I really wasn't expecting to run 80 miles in them but they just felt so comfortable! Hope you're well mate and thanks for watching 🙏😊
You were very close, I almost kept going for 24hrs. I really wanted to be sensible and not break myself so the 3hrs sleep took 100 miles out of the equation 👍😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Hey man! I was wondering how do you think these shoe will hold up on road/pavements? Reason I ask is because before I can go through the trail part I have to run/walk through roads for a good distance.
Ant trail running shoe outsole is going to wear quicker if you are doing long sections of road in them regularly. The rubber compound is slightly softer than the rubber used on road shoes so it offers more grip on the trails. It woukd definitely be comfortable on the road but you will wear the outsole quicker 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
80 miles in the end Brian 😊 It's a great trail shoe Brian, I don't think you'd be disappointed! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Hi there. I normally run in saucony guide tr.. there support trail shies and had em for years..they dony make em anymore and cant get any.bought these xodus ultra they are ok,but give me pins n needles so not 100% perfect for me..any rec for a good road to trail support shoe, ive tried peregrines and they ripped my feet to shreds...thanks
Hi Shaun It's tricky because the Guide TR was really a road running shoe with a slightly different outsole. It had a medial post support system because it was a road shoe. When it comes to out and out trail running shoe like the Xodus or the Peregrine they tend to be neutral in structure because the trail environment is a lot more forgiving on the body compared to hard, repetitive tarmac! Maybe have a look at the asic Gel-Trabuco trail shoe because it does have a bit of extra medial support 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 😊
You'd just end up wearing out the outsole grip super quick! The Xodus Ultra is a trail shoe so the rubber compound is softer than that on a road running shoe. If you're doing more road than trail running, go for a road shoe 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
It's hard to say Alan? I haven't run it through any water yet but I've never had that issue with Saucony trail shoes before but we'll see 🤔 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
They definitely went through some tough times, even 5 or 6 years ago they were producing some poor shoes! It's a very different story now, they are absolutely smashing it at the moment 👌 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏

Well done Lloyd. Saucony really nailed it with this shoe. The PowerRun Plus sock liner really pulls it all together.

Great going with the race 👏
Been looking forward to this review.
Thanks very much 👍
I've heard a few people say about the ankle collar but I haven't had any rubbing of any kind?
Fantastic!
Cheers Paul 👍
It's great to feel like I've got some fitness back finally and I'm feeling a lot more confident about the TDS! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks for expanding on the width and height of the toe box. That's very important to me.
This was not only an informative review, but also an exciting one too.
Thanks for the video my Running Mate!!!
I usually run in men's wide fits - these are easily as spacious in the toe box as other brands wides in my experience.
No problem 👍
I'm glad you found the video helpful and exciting! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Another great long distance trail shoe that can also show up on race day. Great review! Cheers. Heck of a first run impression!!
It sure was Greg, I really wasn't expecting it! 😲
It just felt so comfortable on, there was no point in changing shoes.
So good to see you banging out the big miles again mate 👍 🙌 what a shoe what a run. Top marks all around
Cheers mate 👍
It really does feel good to be running the longer stuff again. It's given me a lot of confidence when it comes to the TDS, I can't wait to get out in the mountains 🏃♂️⛰️
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel mate, hope you're fit and well 😊
That's epic! Well done! I have ordered my Xodus Ultra last week, can't wait to try them out and so glad to hear such positive feedback from you!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I hope you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras as much as I'm enjoying mine 😊
Thanks for watching 🙏
I'm subscribed to several running channels, but by far yours is my favorite!!! Keep up with the good content! 🏃🏻♀️
That's very kind Aline, thank you! Really glad you're enjoying the channel and thanks for watching, it's really appreciated 🙏😊
When you reviewed the Pegasus you scored both wet and dry. How is this shoe in wet conditions? Drainage, wet weight, in sole slippage?
Wow, great race performance! Congratulations. Saucony Xodus Ultra has definitively vindicated itself. Great shoe, 80 miles out of box!
It's a pretty impressive performance from the shoes Tolunay 👌
I really didn't expect to run 80 miles in them and I'd of been happy with a couple of Laps! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Congrats on finishing TDS, Loyd!
Thanks Ryan, appreciated 🙏😊
Good evenning Run4adventure and all the runners. Excellent and helpful video, Loyd. Here is my like. I like Saucony Xodus ultra. A nice week for everyone. ☀️🏃♂️⛰
Thanks Manuel 🙏
You have a great evening and thanks for all your amazing support 😊
Yet another great video, Loyd. Wow! 😲 80 miles out of the box - amazing!! Looking forward to the Endure24 video too - keep up the great work, pal. 👍🏼 Andy. 👊🏻
Thanks Andy, that's really appreciated! I know, it's a bit crazy and definitely wasn't expecting that sort of distance 😲
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏
Wow - how impressive was that for a first review. I have a pair of Peregrine ISO’s which are great for short distances in wet muddy conditions. However I need something with more cushioning to take on longer runs and that will also perform on tarmac as well as trails. Sounds as if I definitely need to be taking a closer look at the Exodus Ultra!
Yes Roger, that was my first ever run in the Xodus! I couldn't believe it myself, they just felt so good on I didn't want to change them 👍
It's a very good shoe Roger, definitely worth a closer look. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Did you buy any? I need to know whether they can cope / do well on tarmac as from here there are roads to get to trail. Would appreciate your opinion
Great vídeo!!!
Why dont you make a comparison between Xodus, Peregrin and Endorphine Edge???
Watch this space Alexandre 😉

What a great video! That event looks fun.
Really glad you enjoyed the video Samuel, it sure was a great event! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
I managed to pick a pair up today for £63!! In the yellow but at that price who can argue.
That's a bargain, hope you enjoy them and thanks for watching 🙏😊
new intro is straight 🔥
Really glad you enjoyed the new intro Kenny! It took Liga hours and hours to put it together but I think it looks great 👌

Fantastic Loyd! Congrats
Thanks Eduardo, that's really appreciated 👍

Great job !! I just got a pair last week - ran a 9 mile technical trail race and loved them. Got a 50k next month and the fit and comfort of this shoe may work better for me than my Speedgoat 5. I think my longest run in a new shoe is about 12 miles- so 80 is wild. Don’t think I could run 80 miles !
Of course you could Alan, if you really wanted to 😊
It's good to hear that your enjoying your Xodus Ultras.
I've put another 40 miles into the Xodus Ultra since the race and it's still feeling great 👌
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great review. Loving mine after 80km. Unlike the Speedgoat 5's they are lace up and run, no faffing at all.
Going to be using mine on the Lakeland 50 next month
I totally agree, just put them on and go running! 👌
Really glad you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras as well and best if luck at Lakeland 50 💪
Thanks for watching 🙏
Just bought a pair, looking forward to take a run on Table Mountain tomorrow! Great review👍
Awesome Nadeem 😊
Really glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you're enjoying your Xodus Ultras, thanks for watching 🙏😊
If you enjoy the previous version, you'll love the new one 😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Ok, let's make today the day to subscribe 👍 good stuff
Thanks very much, that's really appreciated 🙏😊
Great review Loyd. I did Reading about 5 years ago in a team of 5. Planning on doing it next year solo - and reckon I’ll be having the Xodus Ultra on my feet.
It's an awesome event Wes 👍
I'd definitely go back and run it again, maybe race it next time and see how far I can get 🤔
The Xodus Ultra is a really good distance shoe, that's for sure!
Well done! Wondering how is it on road to trails, and outsole durability. There is a lot of different opinions on this subject
Thanks very much 👍
Mine are wearing well so far and I've run a big mix of different terrains in them. I'll be doing a full review on the Xodus Ultra once I've run 150 miles in them 😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Interesting. I love my Peregrine 12 but the upper is not holding together. Definitely not made for a trail shoe ☹️
@@Gekko186 I got 6 runs out of mine, less than 100 miles. In their defense they did give me a full refund. Im still a Saucony fanboy 😆
Sorry to hear that Anders! Mine are still holding up ok, have you contacted Saucony about the issue? 🤔
It's such a shame you had issues with your Peregrines Marc! I'm glad Saucony sorted it out for you 😊
I've put another 50 miles into my Xodus Ultras since the event and it's still going strong and feeling very comfortable 👌
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
another good review and a good shoes but problem is when will they arrive in my country hahaha only Salomon Ultra Glides are available ATM but it's so expensive 180$ USD .. my 1st 30k Trail Run will be on July 24th haha .. if i can't find any alternatives maybe ill just buy the Salomons UG ..
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed the video. That's a shame they're not available in your country at the moment 😔 To be fair, the Ultra Glide is still a really good trail shoe! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Nice job in the race. Maybe this will be a replacement for my Speedgoat4. There pretty trashed and I'm definitely interested in a new long run shoe.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
80 miles?? alright Loyd, so training for UTMB is on course i guess! mega! looking forward to that race-video!
i've been looking at the Pulsar Trail for a long distance trail shoe, but now i guess you'd prefer the Xodus? are they even compareable?
Thanks Ozenfant, I'm definitely heading in the right direction now. The 80 miles has given me a lot of confidence as I head towards the TDS. I would personally go for the Xodus Ultra if I had to pick one. There's a bit more structure and substance to the upper and that makes it a lot more comfortable over distance 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for all your amazing support 🙏😊
Great stuff. I'm looking to decide on my UTMB CCC shoe and this could be it based on your impressions.
I think it would be a great shoe for that type of terrain and distance Craig. I'm pretty sure they'll be on my feet at the TDS 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
After just one trail run of about 10 miles, the treads/lugs are already chipping and chunking off. The run was a trail running/mountain biking trail with some rocky sections, but a lot of dust and sand too. I do not recommend these for rocky terrain at all, but other than the poor durability of the outsole they feel fantastic. Mid sole is a 10/10.
Ouch. I just ordered them, not for rocky stuff but for dirt roads with light gravel, grass etc. Should i rethink this?
Great review as always we didn’t make the cut from you Friday filming/picture taking 😂😂🤣
Thanks very much 👍
You never know Peter, you might be in the full race day video!
It sounds like they work well for you so the Cloud ultras might be your best choice🤔
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks for the review! Have been waiting for this one and it is high on my buy list now. Congrats for the 80 miles! Great work! Should we expect a battle off between this shoe and the SG5 and Ultra Glide?
Thanks Naim, really glad you enjoyed the video 👍
The race went well but I never expected to run the whole 24hrs in the Xodus! There could be a head to head featuring a few different shoes coming yo the channel soon. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great review :-)
Thanks Nigel, glad you enjoyed the video.
Cheers 👍🏻
🤔exodus ultra or speed goat 5 I can’t decide I want a good long road/trail long run shoe
They're both great shoes for that but I'd go for the Xodus Ultra. It fits my foot shape beeter and I find it so comfortable for the long stuff! Hope this helps Michael, thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
Well Loyd. You definitely sold me a pair of Xodus ultra 🤯
It's a great shoe Marko! Has to be the most comfortable new shoe I've ever worn. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Just bought. 👍 Fingers crossed they work with me like they did for you 🤞
I really hope they do! 🤞
It's a great shoe, I'm sure you'll like them.
The Xodus Ultra is a great trail shoe, has to be in my top 3 of all time as well 👌
Really glad you're enjoying yours and thanks for watching the channel and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
Are they wearing quickly as some suggest?
Great video and I have been waiting for this review and the shoe - when is it out?
Glad you enjoyed the video Peter. The Xodus Ultra is available now in the UK. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
@@Thefifaplayeryant I'd say the Xodus Ultra does have a little bit more width and volume in toe compared to the Peregrine 10 👍
Hope this helps 😊
I’m getting a pair then !!
It's a very good shoe Jim! Hope you enjoy them and thanks for watching mate 🙏😊
love this shoe. will be wearing them for Moab 240.
Ran my 2nd marathon in a pair of the Hoka Rincon 1s fresh out the box, toes turned to jelly by the finish. bad blisters.
Glad you are enjoying the Xodus Ultras Ray. Wow, the Moab 240! Definitely one of my bucket list races. I hope it goes really well and you enjoy your adventure, let me know how you get on 👍
Thanks for watching 🙏
I've got escape from meridian coming in November, 36 hour race and these are looking like the likely shoe for me
Escape from Meridian is an awesome race, you'll love it David! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Saucony Xodus Ultra is going to be my 100 mile shoe for the Vermont 100.
I think it would be a great choice for 100 miles Matthew 👍
Hope the training is going well and best of luck with your race! Thanks for watching 🙏😊
I will try these out in the coming week at the shop. I totally love the Akasha, but it is impossible to get a new pair in my size. Don't know why La Sportiva has got so much trouble with production. Well, they are Italians so.. 🤷♂️😆
So I am very interested in these Saucony.
If you've run the Peregrines in the mountains before then the Xodus should handle them just as well 😊
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
@@Run4Adventure Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work with the channel! Managed to try a pair of the Xodus Ultra but unfortunately the fit isn't so great for me, bit too much room/width up front so felt sloshy...

It is a wicked shoe, love it.
It sure is Rob! I'm still loving mine. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
@Run4Adventure How is the upper of the Xodus Ultra compare to the Peregrine? I think if the Saucony Peregrine (10) and Speedgoat (5) had a love child it would be my favorite shoe (Peregrine upper with Speedgoat midsole).
Great 👍...& also share long term review..like durability or milage of the shoes...how durable is pwrun pb.thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video Ambarish. I'll definitely be doing a full review of the Xodus Ultra once I've got some more miles in! 👍

Hi Loyd! Great video, I'm looking for a new shoe for the Ben Nevis Ultra (skyline race), would you recommend this shoe?
It's a great shoe Alex, especially for long distance. Unfortunately I haven't run the Ben Nevis ultra so it's hard to say? 🤔
Sorry I can't be of more help, thanks for watching 🙏
Ah, so that was your secret! I was wearing my 'definitely seen better days' Speedgoat 4s. Had I known about the super shoes, I might have made 80miles instead of just 75 🤣 I can't think of my longest run in new shoes, might have done 20km in a pair.
Little One is itching to see your E24 film. (no pressure 😁 )
The shoes definitely helped a lot Ian because they were so comfortable the whole way round. Hope your bady has recovered and it was great to meet you and your lovely family at the race 😊
Thanks for all the support, it's really appreciated 🙏😊
There is another review video of the Xodus Ultra on the channel. The shoes are still performing really well and they have run as well as the SG3's for me, great shoe 😊
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
For me a technical trail is decending a mountain on blocky, rooted or off trail trails. How would you score this shoe on these surfaces over 60 km?
You need a buy now button!
It's a great shoe Guy 👌
Has to be the most comfortable new shoe I've ever run in! Hope you're fit and well mate, thanks for watching 🙏😊
Awesome job thanks! I have narrow feet. How wide are they relatively speaking?
I don't have a wide foot Robin and it fits me really well. I'd say the width is average but it really depends how narrow your feet are? Thanks for watching 🙏😊
Wow very impressive 80miles for a first run in the Xodus.
I'm now wandering if I should get these trainers or stick with pedigrine. At present I have pedigrine 10 and they have seen better days.
Really enjoy your reviews. What other trail trainers would suggest other than saucney?
Thanks Trevor, glad you enjoyed the video. The Peregrine 10's were a great shoe and I'd say if you've enjoyed running in them, then you'd like the Xodus Ultra 👍
The Salomon Ultra Glide is a nice shoe and it's definitely worth checking out some of the Hoka trail offerings.
The Xodus is just like a deeper cushioned Peregrine 12 👍
Without a doubt the Xodus handles distance a lot better than the Peregrine. It's got PWRRUN PB in the midsole so it very comfortable on your longer runs 👍
Hope this helps Justin and thanks for watching 🙏
Loyd these or the Endorphin Edge?
Thanks for the review. How would they cope with stretches of tarmac in terms of traction in wet, level of cushioning and thirdly durability,
The level of comfort on tarmac is brilliant and traction is great in the wet. Unfortunately you would wear the lugs down quicker if you road the shoe on the road a lot, like you would with any trail shoe 👍
Hope this helps Amanda and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure in which case that’s what I’ll do! Thanks and love the channel
@@amandaball7116 No problem Amanda, thanks for watching and supporting the channel 😁
Don't overlook the PowerRun PB sockliner. Salomon, take note.
It's actually a PWRRUN + sockliner but it really does make a difference!

Did you find that these fit big? I've never experienced this before in my 10.5 US size but my right foot has some ankle lift and there seems to be lots of extra room in the toes. I actually have to size up to 11 on occasion as my one foot is bigger than the other....so I'm not sure what the issue is here.
Definitely not Ben, I'm a uk9.5 in most running shoes and I'm a uk9.5 in the Xodus Ultra and they fit perfectly 👍
Seems like the way to make the Xodus better was to make it more like the Peregrine but with added Pwrrun PB. 😂
That's exactly how it feels Stu 👍
I really wasn't expecting to run 80 miles in them but they just felt so comfortable! Hope you're well mate and thanks for watching 🙏😊
Paused the video.
My guess - the full 24 hrs.
OK - I was wrong.
You were very close, I almost kept going for 24hrs. I really wanted to be sensible and not break myself so the 3hrs sleep took 100 miles out of the equation 👍😊
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
It woukd definitely be comfortable on the road but you will wear the outsole quicker 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
@@Run4Adventure thank you, man. Appreciate the reply.
This shoe is definitely on my list.
I'm guessing 64 miles
80 miles in the end Brian 😊

Hi Shaun
It's tricky because the Guide TR was really a road running shoe with a slightly different outsole. It had a medial post support system because it was a road shoe. When it comes to out and out trail running shoe like the Xodus or the Peregrine they tend to be neutral in structure because the trail environment is a lot more forgiving on the body compared to hard, repetitive tarmac! Maybe have a look at the asic Gel-Trabuco trail shoe because it does have a bit of extra medial support 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 😊

How does the outsole compare to the vibram megagrip?
I'd say it's pretty close to Vibram megagrip when it comes to grip and traction Bilal 👍

These or the inov8 trailfly ultra g300?
I'd definitely go with the Xodus Ultra Ryan 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏
Can we do a 60% road n 40% trail on this shoes for around 15km daily?
You'd just end up wearing out the outsole grip super quick! The Xodus Ultra is a trail shoe so the rubber compound is softer than that on a road running shoe. If you're doing more road than trail running, go for a road shoe 👍
Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
