- This would be the first time since 2001 when TWN had the same LF design theme as its sister station MeteoMedia. Proves MM producers had a more creativity, my jaw dropped the day they changed the theme back in 2005.
Takes me back to when i first moved to Canada in ‘06. I was 10. I miss those days.
this song remind me of my entire family getting together at my Grandmas for random parties, Easter, Christmas or birthdays or whenever. brings me back to the good years.

The Weather Network is celebrating 25 years and playing original tunes from the past!
And sadly MeteoMedia did not either despite efforts - maybe next year when they celebrate their 30th both channels will put classic ones back on and it doesn't have to be the same tunes either on both

@@RetroJello Nope, they kept using the 5 songs they had since 2010 up until mid-2015 when they dropped 4 of them, and the last one by late 2018 (save for the first few days of the spring/summer 2019 programming when things were sorted out).

You know, I think this local forecast was actually in 2006 because March 25 did not fall on a Saturday in 2005, but fell on a Friday. It was in 2006 that March 25 was on a Saturday.

I remember this song was on when the Air France plane crashed in Toronto during those wild thunderstorms.. thats all.. its the best ever!
I find it odd how TWN's local forecast has a 4-day, 7-day, AND 14-day forecast, as well as an hourly graph and the simpler, older hourly forecast. Why can't they just have one hourly and day-by-day forecast?
Never forget
Sometimes they would use the winter scenes around this time for their local forecasts (MM did that more frequently on their winter programming). It probably wasn't until next week (two weeks after this on MM as they usually switched a week later than TWN) when the extended version began to be used and made the LF 2:15.
I recently found the extended version of this song, and remixed it so there's no narration.

A lot of people gave you a negative responce to that, but its true. I used to watch TWN every day. Now they are lucky if I tune in once a month. The NEED to change the music!

I agree, seems like the Locals are packed with so much info that aren't necessary. Worse still, they just put in a long range precipitation forecast which I think should be integrated somehow in the long range forecast instead.

@metsfreak4life You're right. And they didn't use this LF background and song until April or May of 2005.
April 4, 2005 I believe they started using it for MétéoMédia, when local forecasts for them became every 10 minutes on the 10s. Perhaps it was March 28, 2005 when The Weather Network started using this LF background/song when their spring/summer programming launched...

This weather music was the best in recent years.. they should bring this one back.. the worst one was thre one that was put the previous year of this one..
ariboy2000 yes, hated the one that superseded this song and they didn’t replace it for years. I think it has the title of longest running local forecast music in the weather networks nearly 30 year history. This song will always be one of my faves. I have a high quality no voice over copy of it too :)
