What great looking and running buggy! I love the Optima and the low, sleek look it and those chunky tires just make it rip!! It looked great out shredding the sand!!
Thanks mate. I’m really pleased and impressed by it and I’ve always loved the spoiler less looks . Had a right nightmare with this body . Not that pleased with the final finish . Thanks for watching mate 😊👍
Yes I generally favour the spikes purely because they handle the terrain here better . And I just love the looks of this buggy . Thanks for watching mate 😊👍
Definitely agree. I just need to upgrade my hot shot motor to match this so they are on a more even footing . I’d be hard pressed to pick either as a favourite. They are both great buggies. Thanks for watching mate 😊👍
Awesome footage as usual matey! This is what RC buggies were designed for, non of this indoor carpet track malarkey! Do you find the sand penetrates inside the mechanics of the car? Drive cups, belt/chain, gearbox, shocks etc? Also, do you strip down your motors regularly..... Its amazing how much crap gets inside the can and around the bearings and commutator?! I would love to take my Turbo optima, top force, egress etc out on these type of terrains but have always been apprehensive! 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks mate. The biggest problem is sand in tires and overheating. But generally I don’t have many problems caused by the sand . It does jam the fans on brushless mind. It also depends on the car. I’ve always found tt02 style chassis to get drowned in sand and it overheats the electrics . Most problems are typically the odd breakage or things coming loose . But the sand has the benefit of providing soft landings . I don’t apply grease to anything external either . Some of these cars have been doing this terrain for over two years and bar a bit of wear snd tear they are ok. This was one of the reasons I did those sand trials as I’ve found different chassis better than others . Like the monster beetle for example . Thanks for watching mate 😊👍
Fantastic video and sound track, too.
I've just purchased an Optima yesterday. I've never had one.
I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas day. 🚗
fantastic machine . i think you will enjoy 😊👍 thanks for watching 😊👍
This reminds me of my Robbe Pantera 4WD that I had in the mid 90s. It wasn't as nice as the Optima but it was fun to enjoy off-road like that :)
It sounds like you that buggy gave you some good memories? 😊👍thanks for watching mate 😊👍
@@rc-dom-uk Yes, it was my best RC model ever. Robust, fast and agile.
Those are really good memories.
Kyosho Optima was such an awesome rc car back then. Still a relevant vintage. Very good video I must say. Thank You.
