sorry, but I just don't understand why Greg still thinks Bethesda is #1. I don't think I've seen anyone anywhere else think it's anything but the worst. And I can totally see where Andy is coming from, this conference aside form FF VII Remake and Avengers would barely do anything for non-JRPG fans. However, for us like Tim, WHAT A FUCKING SHOW.
Conference may have been a 6/10, but FF VII Remake couldn't have been shown in a better way. That was a 10/10 blowout. I think this is only second to Microsoft because MS tried to appeal a wider audience? but this definitely had more heart than all previous conferences together. The crowd going actually nuts, the buzz, the murmur during FF VII is something you don't usually get.
I'm in Tim's camp; Andy has gaming amnesia for anything over 5 years ago, but i'm greatful for the kinda funny e3 experience.
Greg typically isn't into JRPG's but likes western RPGs so makes sense he wouldn't like this one.

Did they say you had the option to play turn based, like the original? I thought I heard them say something like that. Couldn't quite make it out, as Tim was talking over them while they were detailing the combat.
I believe once you have at least one ATB bar fill up you can pause it "tactical mode" and take your time to choose your options from a menu
Video is still processing and I haven’t seen any news. If anything The Bouncer related is announced I might cry. #DecadeOfDreams EDIT: I am sad, but at least Tim referenced The Bouncer. The dream continues.

Ff7 looks amazing, love DQ, the Switch surprises and of cause Avengers.
The combat is giving me ff12 and Nino kuni vibes, which I love
it's weird. The combat feels like a culmination of every Final Fantasy before this. XII vibes, XIII vibes, some XV here and there (more like KH tbh) and tidbits of Xenoblade. I honestly believe they pulled it off because the combat designer is the guy from KH2.

This conference gets a couple of points, not much but a couple, from me for the use of Metric in the Dying Light 2 trailer. The song is Help, I'm Alive from the Fantasies album released in 2009. Funny enough, Black Sheep was originally supposed to be on that album, but it didn't fit with the rest of the album so it was used in Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

When Barret said "suck on this" I kept thinking he said 'fuck all this'. I had to replay it 3 different times to make it out.
In the avengers game they are going to go back in time using the time travel tech and fight together with their past selves

FF8 wasn't remastered not because of licensing issues with the music, but because most of the source code wasn't archived after development, which was how things were in Japan back then. But with AI up-resing now a thing, they can finally do the game justice.
This is the first time I really couldn't stand Greg. Honestly this would have probably be better if they just brought Greg in when Avengers showed up since hes disinterested in all other things.
Maybe it's just superhero fatigue...but underwhelmed. I hate that I am too.
I swear, Troy and Nolan disappeared right into their characters for Avengers. That's good voice acting.

Also square not only took sony's spot at E3 but they were sooooo much better than all the others FF7/FF8 alone would have been enough to take it.

I like the stories and characters of Final Fantasy but I'm not a fan of turn-based gameplay. Saying that, I'm pretty hyped for the remake.
The magic and special attacks are attached to bars but it isn't a turn based game.
You can use your weapons as many times as you like.
In Kingdom Hearts 2 after using cure you had to wait for the magic bar to fill up to use magic again
This is how all magic works in FF7 remake except the game is also paused while your picking your magic.
Special attacks work the same way, but as I said your melee and ranged weapon attacks are all in real times. You can swing that big sword and shoot that gun as many times as you like.
It's a hybrid system.
Tim is the best
48 different variations of Final Fantasy and still no Legacy of Kain love out of Square. Just sell the IP it’s been 16 fucking years.

I hope at some point the Final Fantasy VII Remake makes its way over to the PC its crazy that its going to take two blu-ray discs and its not even the full story and The Avengers game had me hooked till they said it was a live service not my bag of tea but I do look forward to seeing AH making videos in it
I was hoping to see Hawkeye. The movies don't do him any favors.
That's because Hawkeye is the Aquaman of the MCU; he can only talk to arrows, and can't breath unless he's covered in feathers every 24 hrs..

The avengers game looks like butt.
So as to how people wonder how she is able to keep up, I believe it is all scripted and that her responses on a paper ergo she memorizes her speech just like the rest of them. Granted I'm not taking from her training as a translator but as this is a big event translators will no doubt have speeches given to them just like how the presenters have speeches prepared for them.
yes, they rehearse this a billion times. Even if they go off-script, the idea is still the same. Suda 51 though, now that guy is impossible to translate live, he goes off script and rambles lol

Avengers Hype* When they said that the new Characters and Regions are free, I realized that it is a Destiny type of Game, which makes it my #1 Game of E3.

I have an X1 too but mostly use it for 4k disks and Halo.....but other than that nothing else really interests me. That's not me being toxic, that's just kinda how it is and I think alot of people feel that MS haven't really done enough this gen.

Playstation fans should be ashamed and embarrassed for being led off a cliff and allowing this to happen. A similar example is how mobile gamers empowered game developers to introduce microtransactions. This is why Sony and Mobile gamers are in the same class. Nothing but a casual niche market that is being exploited. Mobile gamers and Sony gamers truly are the biggest jokes in gaming.
