  • Today we are pouring acrylic paint onto rocks. These painted rocks are beautiful and fun to paint! All we need is some Floetrol, acrylic paint, water and of course Rocks. So come with me and get mesmerized as I pour acrylic paint on some old rocks!
    I got into painting in May 2020 as lock down happened. I loved watching acrylic pours my husband had shown me. So I thought why not give it a try and show my daughter how to have some fun. We both just fell in love with acrylic pours and just acrylic painting.

    Curious about the back side of the rock. Do you sand the back after pouring the front? What does the back end up looking like?

    • @kokosgoldfish
      @kokosgoldfish  Před rokem

      Sometimes the backs are nice and smooth and other times they are rough. If they are rough I will sand the backs of them. I will resin them and you want them smooth on the bottom for that. IMO.

      You can go to a garden center and get them for cheep. I got a whole bucket of them for $3 lol... I'm making them for the public school my daughter was going to. I'm homeschooling her now, but I still volunteer for the Parents Club. Then the rest are for just dropping off around town.

  • @reetadesai5462
    @reetadesai5462 Před 2 lety +1

    What are you using at the end? Is that a fire scortching gun? What does it do? Do you finish them at the end with varnish to give it a shine?

    • @kokosgoldfish
      @kokosgoldfish  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes it is, you can find them on amazon or at a Hardware store. It pops all the bubbles in the paint and if your using metallic paint it activates them (making them cell) . After they are all nice a dry I will brush them with a Modge Podge/ water mix. Let that dry and then I will rub them with resin. The resin will keep it sealed for a long time.
      Thank you for watching 🤗

      A couple of my paints had a drop of Silicone in it. Then when you hit it with a torch or heat gun the bubbles will come up. Also if you use Amsterdam Titanium White or the Oxide Black in a layer it will pull through the colors. One thing I been learning about is the colors that will sink down and leave lacing too.
