    These are a small collection of 35mm trailers for the Toei Manga Matsuri anime festival that would be held starting on July 12, 1986 and would premiere four films: "High School! Kimengumi", "Gegege no Kitarou: Saikyou Youkai Gundan! Nippon Jouriku!!", "Captain Tsubasa: Sekai Daikessen!! Jr. World Cup", and "Maple Town Monogatari".
    The print was scanned in 4K, and while not fully open matte, there are a good number of open matte shots, especially on the Maple Town trailer, so what you see here is the full 35mm frame along with the sound track and sprocket holes on the sides. There was also no processing or restoration done to the print whatsoever, so what you see is the print's natural state.

    Extremely rare ones would be Disney collab ones like snow white and 101 dalmatians back in 1980 and 1981 which was also the instant theatrical release of Dr slump movie.

    The reason why it looked so clean was because this is a piece of film strip which is easily cleaned up using computers and the picture can be enhanced very easily.

    • @KinekoVideo
      @KinekoVideo  Před 3 lety +5

      I would not call film restoration "easy". Also, this is not restored at all or cleaned up at all. It's the raw output straight from the scanner. As for enhancing the image, that is not done with the computer here either.

    • @David315842
      @David315842 Před 3 lety

      @@KinekoVideo So many people thought it looked like the footage was cleaned up, I assumed it probably was. I was also thinking on the basis of transferring film to be processed into high definition which can be done, compared to magnetic tape which of course can't be used to produce high definition images, it's impossible to do so with magnetic tape. Easy was probably the wrong choice of words, what I was meant to say was that it was 'doable' at least.

      @@David315842 This print just happened to be in very good condition. If you read the video description you'll see that there was no processing or editing done to this scan, but I do admit it did take a lot of trial and error to get the best scanning results for it. You are right about tape being stuck in low resolution though! That's why film is a super versatile format.

      @@KinekoVideo You said though that it was scanned in 4K in the description, something must have been involved in that surely? But otherwise yeah you stumbled upon a very well preserved piece of film.

      @KinekoVideo  Před 3 lety +2

      @@David315842 When I say "processing or editing" it means anything like restoration, color correction, basically any digital editing. None of that was done. Again, what you see here is straight from the scanner with not a single alteration made after.
