- Dragonsphere is the first book in the series The Fallen King Chronicles.
Blurb:
The soul of a powerful dragon has escaped its magical prison.
The creature's wrath knows no bounds and spreads across two enemy kingdoms, forcing an unlikely alliance.
Calderon and Velkyn, the two young men charged with the safeguard of the sphere that held the dragon captive, must leave everything they've known in a quest to recapture the beast before it takes physical form.
Will they be able to stop events beyond their power, or will both kingdoms be destroyed by the dragon's rage?

I've never been a listener, always a reader and I've tried. I wanted to find an audio book to try again and found yours. The narrator drew me in immediately and I could see the cave and feel the sigels. Thank you gentlemen for a lovely experience, my hats off to you both!!
Thank YOU for the compliments and for listening. 🙂
Sorry so long ,but yes ! His accent caught my attention, and then the book. 🥰

It's why audiobooks are the best form of entertainment when done right. Like many movies cannot capture a great book, and the audiobook elevates the book even more. Like the bad Martian movie compared to the great audiobook.

Awesome, thank you!
As the great granddaughter of a silversmith I have to say I love Demetrius's character. ❤
Oh wow, that's awesome! I'm glad you like him. 🙂
I'm honestly surprised that you're not more widely known. You are an excellent author and every book I have read of yours competes greatly with the likes of Piers Anthony and even the great Steven King. Though, thank God, you don't take 3 pages to describe a flower like King. Lol. Great book.. can't wait to continue the journey.
Oh wow, thank you so much! That's quite a compliment. I appreciate that and thank you for checking out my books. 🙂
It's a really good saga, and the narrators voice eventually finds his flow and it stops being so off. Will definitely listen to them all again at some point in the not to distant future
Thanks for your comment Brian, I shut it off after a couple minutes thinking I wouldn't be able to handle the reader. Ill give it a go
betting it’s the terrible narrations. i love a good accent, especially Scottish, but the weird intonations and cadences put me Right off.

Good plot, sir. Interesting characters. I also enjoyed some of the side characters, and evil ones.
My main respectful critique would be
A. Less "he questioned". Asked and said is fine.
B. "Suck" and "messed up" are modern words of ours. Using is it in a story like this rips the reader right out of the story.
Fair points! This was the first novel I ever wrote, so I don't make such rookie mistakes anymore, ha!
No worries, your first novel is 100% better than the majority of peoples nonexistent novels!

Not Scottish. Northern Ireland
Love the Irish accent. Just started listening and I'm gonna keep on.
I'm glad to hear that. 🙂 He also narrated my Dragon Riders of Osnen series. You can find those books on here as well.
@@RichardFierceWrites Are those books from the same world as this one? I have just found this book and, although I am only a short way into it, I am really enjoying it. Being Scottish, the accent and intonation of the narrator are very pleasant and easy to understand. Makes a huge difference to listening to American narrators and cringing at the way they pronounce some words. 😉
@@Loki-and-Thor They are two separate series in different worlds. 🙂

The accent is fine, the words are pronounced distinctly.
The narrator adds a little flair to the story with that accent

As do I. Andrew is a great guy in general, and a talented narrator as well.
Some times I forget I have ADHD. Then I listen to something at normal speed and there it is.
You should be able to speed it up in the options. Hope that helps!
I always do n at 2× it sounds normal to me but then I leave CZcams and come back to wonder why everything sounds like it's in slow motion.
My good man Richard, I'm back :) I've finally processed my backlog (that sounds worse than what it actually means-simply put, finally I've got some spare time again) and guess where I started to look for new material? HERE. :D And to my utter delight, it's narrated by Andrew McDermott whose *Irish* accent (and voice/style) I've grown so fond of. Feels right at home, so to speak. I'll let you know what I think of this story as soon as I think that I'm able to voice an opinion. I hope you're doing fine and that you'll eventually manage to find some spare time again like when you visited Disneyland. Take good care of yourself and catch you soon, I hope :)
Glad to have you back on my channel!
I spent the past 3 days at a local-ish convention speaking on panels about writing and selling books in person. It was a fun time, but now I've got to back to writing!
@@RichardFierceWrites good to be back! And I'm glad to know you had a good time at the convention and it's nice to know that you were given the opportunity to speak and promote yourself there. I wish you success :) And enjoy writing. I am aware of hard times that may prevent you from writing so I hope remembering episodes like that convention and interacting with readers who truly appreciate you will get you back on track and help you acquire the motivation necessary for this job. Naysayers are typically a minority but at the time much louder than those who (silently) support you. You seem to be energised right now, so hold on tight to that and write away! :) Thank you for your prompt and friendly replies-that is also something I really appreciate and it motivates me to give you the best possible and honest feedback. Alright, thank you for sharing your work and thoughts :) Take care, Richard.

Finally I found an audio book read in the Scottish accent! 🤩🤩
Missing Scotland so much.
Coming from the EU sadly I was not allowed to work and stay there.
And no company ( even NHS!) church or wealthy family was willing to sponsor me as an O.T., voluntary worker or personal assistant...😢
I miss the Highlands, the islands, the nights singing at the pub, the people and their different accents so much... 💔
If Scotland wants to be independent- why don't you let people in that WANT to work and pay taxes etc.!?
Why letting refugees in but not people who are sick of the EU-tyrannies?
Scotland! Wake up! For hundreds of years you want to be independent from England! Which is fine. But DON'T make the mistake becoming dependent from the corrupt EU! -lead by Germany and France!!!
My heart's in the Highlands... I keep you all in prayer, hoping to come back soon and finally become a part of this beautiful people and country! 🙏💓💓
Andrew is actually Irish. 🙂
Just realised that according to the comments it is more an Irish accent. 😅 Was already wondering which part of Scotland the narrator is from. The Scottish Glasgow, Perth, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Oban accents definitely sounded differently 😂...
Anyway: I'm drawn to this nofthern British dialects and still would love to come back north - Ireland or Scotland! 😘😂
@@teresafelice No worries, ha! I'm jealous of your travels. I would love to go to Ireland or Scotland. 🙂
@@RichardFierceWritesYou should definitely go there! 😀
But be warned: Although at the beginning the nature and people seem to be a bit boring ( not fancy and colourful like in Italy f.e.) - it gets you in the heart!
Not because it's peaceful. That's only one side of the coin. Especially in Scotland: lots of broken and desperate people, many forests gone - the hills are plain - very sad!
But still - their hearts are open and strong... Can't explain it...
@@RichardFierceWrites thank you for the hint!😂
And sorry, Andrew, for my ignorance. 🙏
It's like German with all it's strong and different dialects and then someone asks if you are from Austria. 😂 No! It's NOT the same, I know! 😅
Please forgive me 😀.
Still prefere this accent than the English ones 😉

Lots of good reviews and I am grateful for a free book but the narration is so slow in some places that it is hard for me to follow the story. It's good, I'm still listening, half wishing that I had never started.
You can speed it up in the settings if that helps. I hope you're enjoying the story even if you find the narration slow.

@@scottkuhn7428 Of course. I'm the author though, not the narrator. 🙂
I’m 21/2 hours in and it feels like it’s all been a long prologue. When does the actual story start? Is there an arc? It’s hard to follow how much time has gone by and what is the relativity of the different people places and times.
The first few chapters about the creation of the sphere is the "prologue." The main story starts with Calderon and Velkyn.
Is this chapel "in" Hermiston OR,?

Andrew's accent isn't for everyone.
Love the series, would be better with a different narrator, the Irish accent is a bit off putting. His intonation and sentence structure is very wrong.
Glad you like the story!
I agree, it is a near constant inflection and it's distracting
Not relaxing when you have to put so much effort into comprehending the words of the narrator.
His accent isn't for everyone but if you can get used to it, I think you'll enjoy the books he's narrated. 🙂
Alot do like it though. I love it. Not that hard. With a accent that gives a feel to the world and the period. There is a wide world out there. Do things go with the flow to be ordinary like everybody else. This is how to stand out,to be better than the rest.
@@mtoddrosen6295 Well said!
Something happened in the last few decades to the spoken and written languages across the globe. Commercials, slogans mems altered the meaning somehow. Fewer and fewer books can convey clearly the narrative and the rushed reading clearly mirror our modern society (in a rush for the next thing). So far I love the book and the narrators lilting clear pronunciation and voice. As I close my eyes and listen I can see it in my mind. Thank you for the treat.
