I think the biggest reason why these newest albums have so many streams is because the population is vastly bigger than even a couple decades ago so there’s just more people growing up to mainstream music that you’d find on the radio or tiktok and that’s what they want to listen to and create because they’re used to that stuff! The only reason why I know songs from the 70’s-90’s is because either my parents or from my friends who got some taste from their parents.
True but I think it’s mainly that Spotify was created and became mainstream while these new albums were in their prime
Bringing in too many Muslim and India immigrants will do that!
I think it's mostly 1. all streams weren't tracked until recently 2. these albums were released when streaming was the primary means of listening to music, so every time they've been played it's mostly been via streaming. If every radio play of the Beatles was tracked across the years like streaming is it'd prob be in the 100s of billions.

Queen barely performed Don’t Stop Me Now when Freddie was alive. I know it was played a little bit on their Jazz tour in 1978 but I think that was it. Can’t believe how much more popular it’s become in recent years
Interesting to hear that! When I started getting into Queen as a fan and not a casual listener, Don't Stop Me Now was one of my first favorite songs. I played it in the car with my grandma and she told me she never heard the song before, I was flabbergasted because it was top 3 on their songs on CZcams Music so I naturally thought it had always been a popular classic like every other song in the top 10, and I knew she was a fan of Queen...
